I would sure like to see a couple of reviewers take on this question in general. I know for a fact that different reviewers interpret this rule differently.

I've seen a marked increase over the past year in "needs archived" logs designed to free up an area from a pesky old cache. Instead of the normal steps of contacting the owner, logging a "needs maintenance," or trying to fix the problem, it's expedient to "fast forward" to the "needs archived" stage.
And, it seems many of these are by cachers with double digit finds who don't seem to understand what "hide" means

Alright, I'm sure I'm missing it somewhere, but then again if its so hard to find how do TPTB expect it to be used?
I want to purchase a premium membership upgrade in the form of a gift certificate and can't seem to find where to do so. I can easily find where to upgrade a particular player, but I want a gift certificate that I can print that would be good for whomever has it.
Where is the page?

Clarification: A majority of geocachers who post in these forums are not too fond of most micros. Be careful of extrapolating this to the general population.
People who are perfectly happy finding micros probably aren't going to go through the trouble of starting repeated forum topics about how they are perfectly happy finding micros.
That said, ask yourself how you would enjoy the hide. What's unique about the spot? Would you want to share it with a good friend? If the answer is yes, and unless your friends are insane like most of mine, odds are the aforementioned "majority of geocachers" will enjoy your cache, regardless of size.
That is so true.
I would suggest that you find a few and decide the type of cache you like to find and go hide some like that.

I have Garmin Vista HCX on the way, I'm not sure which mapping prog I need. I'm more of an "urban" cacher, not into the hiking on rough trails type thing at all. I will use the unit for road trips, so I assume city navigator north America NT would do it.

So far, the biggest issue for me with this new release is the removal of the "Find newest in..." link that used to be on the home page.
Living in the corner of the state, the "List newest in Arkansas" link on "MY" page just doesn't do it for me, as there are parts of OK and MO that are much closer to me than most of AR.
It would be nice if the "List newest" link on "MY" page could be a 50 mile radius, instead of just the state my "Home coordinates" are in.
And yes, I know I can (and have) create a PQ to do this, but one click is a whole lot easier.

I have 4 caches that have been adopted by another cacher.
So I won't and shouldn't log them as finds as I once owned them.
Same goes for any cache I placed.
Don't you do it either.
No, I would say "attending" an event 10 to 20 times is the height of lameness. Followed closely by "finding" the same cache several times.

This has been argued up and down, left and right. OK, we understand that "agendas" aren't allowed. Could someone please explain what the "agenda" is in this case?
Sure Tracy...the agenda comes about when the OP basically endorses the organization in question. She tells you a bit of it's history and is basically "advertising" for the org. This is no longer allowed either in the cache descriptions or events (can't mention a restaurant where you're hosting the event more than ONE time on the event page...you CAN add a clickable link with the restaurant info like menu, hours etc).
I know it's a bit hard to understand, and even harder to set up an event/cache page. Once you get it down, it's simple as usual!! This change came about recently...MiGO members learned fast as we had a bit of "help" in the learning process!! ;-)
The clickable link was suggested by myself and a few others for this case...was ignored as far as I can tell!
First of all, I'm not Tracy. So what you're saying is that all those caches that mention Wal-Mart, public parks, libraries, and so on are promoting agendas.

YES, according to the new guidelines, those are agendas. Now comes the slippery slope of it all. IF anyone now has a problem with any of these older caches, they can simply report them to cause all kinds of problems for the reviewers and themselves. I hope people are smart enough to NOT do this....but....
This is all very sad. Soon your cache description will have to say: "Ammo can - come find it" or "Bison tube - well hidden"

What's most amazing to me about this thread is that a very clear majority is saying to leave the cache description as it is.
The volunteer reviewers are following the guidelines they've been given by Groundspeak, but nobody from Groundspeak has yet taken the time to give everyone the reasons for the guidelines being interpreted in this manner.
It seems at times that Groundspeak wants to have it both ways. Cache owners are responsible for their caches, but only if we like them and the way they are worded.
I, too, am a 22 year military veteran, and I feel that because of what I've helped do, we have the satelites in place that allows us to enjoy this sport and to not have to "press 3 for English".
Personally, I would like to thank the OP for paying tribute to what has made this country what it is.

I don't think the idea has merit either. The bottom line is that TPTB have empowered cache owners to regulate how their caches are logged. Some allow 1 log per cacher. Others allow multiple logs. Still others are no longer active but still have caches out there, so obviously don't monitor at all.
And how many times have you seen an archived cache logged? Or one in another area where the logger couldn't possibly have been? For those who want high find counts simply for the sake of having high found counts, they're going to find ways to get them.
Instead of comparing yourself to them, you need to find others who have similar viewpoints as you and compare yourself to that group.
This whole thing used to bother me, but I've let it go. I get my injoyment in my way just as others should get their enjoyment in whatever way they see fit.

As one who has found both of your caches before moving away from the area, I can vouch that they're both quality caches. You shouldn't have too much trouble getting someone to pick them up

I cache for the challenge, not for the McToys. Give me a well disguised, clever urban micro over a 30 cal ammo can any day. On the other hand, hide a micro in the woods and you've made the top of my s--- list. Don't get me wrong, we've found many well disguised and hidden ammo cans, but overall - for the challenge - give me an urban micro anyday.
