  1. Last week was police week at the mall. I asked Officer Friendly what they would do (hypothetically of course) if they were called to a park because someone spotted a matt black ammo can. He assured me they would use the robot to x-ray it before blowing it up. I just hope I never have to determine the truth of this. Wulf
  2. excerpt from log entry... "I left the spot soon and was on my was when I spotted a 55 gallon barrel. I drug it to the river and tried to sail it across the channel but failed and had to go by the land route. I would have succeeded if only I had rope. I made my way back At the edge of the forest I built a monument to it. The Forest Gate to Hell in honor of the trials there and the blood I lost. It is a metal drum and some wood. At the river dam I built another of my sticks and a black and white plastic bags. " Wulf
  3. According to Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary... official [noun] 2 : one who administers the rules of a game or sport especially as a referee or umpire Wulf
  4. We were to busy finishing 'that other cache' in the Metropark to get to this one. We'll take it a bit slower than the power couple did tho. Wulf
  5. As much as I'd hate to put money in this guy's pocket, maybe one of the geocaching groups could pony up the cash, and get these trackables back in the system. I don't have a problem with ppl collecting geocoins, but if you're looking to clean out your collection, just put them in the nearest cache. Wulf (need a speel chequer)
  6. I find I met lots of people when I use to leave my parent's basement. Maybe you can try that? Wulf
  7. I just credit my finds to our team. On the other hand, my forum posts are mine, I'd hate to have Star blamed for my poor judgement. Wulf
  8. Since there seems to be a great interest in the 'mysterious' cache, here's the link... http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...&decrypt=y&log= now everyone play nicely.hehe Wulf
  9. Garmin sold a GPS/cellphone in the US a few years back. They discontinued it here, but it's still available overseas. Didn't look like something I was interested in, since I could get a better GPS and a cellphone for less. Wulf
  10. Well, since you've recently brought us Canadians into the game, we'd be willing to take Fill in the Blanks. We've always wanted to have a locationless cache. Wulf
  11. Not really sure I/We have any 'interesting' stories to tell, we've been actively caching for a about a year, the only place I plan to travel to is Indiana to spend time with Star and 'international' would have to be Canada/USA for us to qualify. Maybe Hard Oiler would be a good choice? Wulf Maybe a bit of positive press would help with the Provincial parks issue?

  13. Thanx, that's just what I'm looking for. Wulf
  14. One cache we went after had us encounter a dead deer smack in the middle of the trail in. Didn't look like it'd been dead for long and we had no idea why it was dead (no obvious damage or blood). We found another trail to follow and found most of the boring bones of another deer sticking outta the ground (no skull). Another cache we found had a small skull hanging in a hollow log with the co-ords hanging from it. Scared the heck outta me as i round the log and saw it. LOL Wulf
  15. Not sure if this has been discussed to death yet, but with the new 'My Cache' page there's no button (that I've found) to view my unapproved caches. I was hoping to recycle them for some new caches we're working on. Can this still be done? Wulf
  16. And what's wrong with dressing like a pirate in your spare time? Wulf
  17. Ohio Indiana Kentucky Cachers group. Wulf
  18. now if it was Future Shop or Wally........ Wulf
  19. Been to a few caches where I wished I had that armour plating. Nothing like poking around in a gully and hearing loud gunfire<g> Wulf
  20. I have to say I'm a bit concerned about this clause in the policy statement. "G. If the permit holder fails to remove the cache, it will be removed by park staff and held for ten (10) days, after which staff will dispose of the cache. Confiscation and disposal by park staff will be recorded in an incident report." If they log enough 'incident reports' what happens to our ability to cache? I like that they've got a cache friendly policy and I'd hate to see that go away. Wulf
  21. I use one of those Roots sling bags. Not very big, but it holds all my trade items and my camera. Since it only has the one strap, I can just reach down and open it without having to take it off. Wulf
  22. Just use the 'states/provences' option and highlight all the locations. Wulf
  23. All caches must be placed in 'motorcycle friendly' areas. My poor Goldwing really doesn't like all them bomb crater littered, washboard, sand and gravel roads that invariably lead to pristine wildness areas. Who's bright idea was it to put nature so far off the nice, clean, orderly PAVED roads? Seriously, caching on a motorcycle raises the terrain rating a bit some days. I may have to get a sidecar or trike to make my life more cache friendly<g> Wulf
  24. If you 'really' want an island cache, we've also got Celeron Island and White Sands (ok, that one's techically in Canada, but don't tell the ppl who live there). Both of these require a boat. Wulf
