  1. I guess I am so used to seeing "junk" in geocaches that I thought that's all most people actually put in, lol. We, however, having little ones who love the swag, also carry around huge bags of excess swag and have been known tp throw in a lot of extra into a geocache to fill it up for the next geocachers to come along. We are relatively new to geocaching (26 finds so far- in Louisiana and Arkansas), so we don't have much to comapare with, but I honestly have not seen a decently stocked geocache yet. We have placed a lot of swag, though.
  2. I also do not have much advice for you, because I am in the same boat as you. My family does not seem to like geocaching very much either. I am the mother, my husband can tolerate geocachening, but will not look for micros at all, and my teenage children have recently said that they hate geocaching. I however, am the one doing the driving, and do drag them along with me sometimes, lol. I have a pitiful low find count, because we pick and choose very few to go out for. I will probably soon have to start going by myself as well
  3. I am very new, but I remember reading in another topic a while back where someone said you can map your route and save where the cache's are. Is this in your GPS or on the geocache website? I am using the Geomate jr, so we usually do not go to the website or use maps except to get the general area, we do not look at clues or nameseither except to log. We are driving from Lousiana to Arkansas, and want to do some geocaching on the trip. What would be the easiest way? I will be bringing my laptop, but will have to stop at a place to get wi-fi if I need to look at the website unless I can save it to the computer somehow.
  4. Wow I realized this last week what a wimp we are down here in Southern Louisiana about cold weather. We have just had our first freezing temperatures of this winter, a serious winter freeze for us here- 3 days of 30* weather. Now, you have to understand, that my husband normally wears shorts year round, and does not even own a big coat. But when I suggested we go geocahing the other day, he called me crazy I am wondering what we will do when we move to where we actually see snow more than once every three years or so. I need to show him the pictures you posted, and tease him about it.
  5. I am thinking about buying a Geomate Jr, but am kind of wary about the preloaded idea. What about the brand new caches?
