  1. To clarify dfx's comment, this is because the map is a square view, and the PQ results are based on a circle with a given radius. So within the area of overlap of the circle and the square they will give the same results, but you'll get variation at the edges depending on the exact PQ criteria you used.
  2. I'd guess that the CO means there is only one step from the initial location to the final cache, not a string of stages. Strange wording, I agree (almost implies that it isn't a multi !) but I suppose you can see what they mean. Isn't it made clear in the Cache Description?
  3. +1 vote for Motion X. It gets me out of trouble in any situation where the standard Groundspeak App has something missing. Not often, but occasionally you need another tool.
  4. You may want to also ensure that the cache where you have added the new waypoint is marked as a favourite. You can then exit that cache (or even exit the App completely and turn your phone off) and when you return it will remember the added waypoint(s). For example, the other week I did a Multi, where I had to bail out half way through due to time. I had already entered and found two intermediate waypoints and then decided I didn't have time to get to the third, but I did add it as a waypoint. I flagged the cache as a favourite. Days later, I returned to complete the cache and all my added waypoints were still available on the phone for that cache. Another example is for Puzzle caches. After solving a puzzle at home, you can 'search by GC code' for that cache and add a new waypoint for the final destination. As long as you flag it as a favourite, then you'll have the final destination for that cache saved in your phone.
  5. Thinking a bit more about it... http://progressblues.blogspot.com/2011/02/seeing-wood-for-trees.html
  6. Are you sure you really submitted the logs from the phone? They stay as 'pending' in the phone until you choose to submit them (unless you have chosen the option to auto-submit).
  7. 10 finds on your first trip is very impressive! Keep it up. Don't be too disappointed if you hit a few 'Did Not Find's - it happens. Stick a 'Watch' on those, then you will get notified when someone else finds them - lets you know they really are still there, and you can have another go.
  8. Wow! That is one weird profile! It's as if you go and grab a bundle of caches, but then only log one per day before heading out again.
  9. Not quite true - it's better than that. Ensure that the cache where you have added the new waypoint is marked as a favourite.
  10. Why not have a look for a local cachers' meeting (check your local forum)? I expect that would be a great place to pick up on the enthusiasm and to get some good stories.
  11. Just noticed this - he just happens to be my MP so I get to hear what he's up to. http://www.johnredwoodsdiary.com/2011/01/28/save-our-trees
  12. BTW, GSAK isn't very convenient for me as I do all my Geocaching work on a Mac.
  13. Thanks B&R, but then the issue would be manually adding all those caches into a list, from (I assume) the owner's profile page where all their owned caches are listed. It's do-able though for reasonable numbers.
  14. I solved a Puzzle (Mystery) Cache recently and thought I'd like to have a go at all the other puzzles set by the same cache owner. Ideally, I'd like to have a Pocket Query for this but there doesn't seem to be any option for specifying the cache owner within a PQ. Any ideas? Thanks.
  15. Anyone know why the 'caches found' numbers don't match on my profile page?
  16. Thanks webscouter, but I still don't get it. Bearing in mind I've only been using this website and the iPhone App for a few days, I can't see how to do what I orginally described. Can I somehow download the .LOC file for a cache, edit its contents, save it as a .GPX and upload it to make it available from the website and from the iPhone App? That seems to be what I would need to do. ----- Thanks Leonard, that makes perfect sense for new waypoints (which was half of my problem). The other half is to be able to attach some sort of note to the cache information, allowing me to retrieve it later either from the website or (ideally) from the iPhone App.
  17. Is it possible to see a list of Public Bookmark Lists? Better, is it possible to search for lists relating to locations, or users, etc?
  18. Field notes (for me these are entered on the iPhone App) allow me to write a note about a cache and either submit it as a log entry right then, or else wait until back at home where I can perhaps tidy up the note before submitting it. All great. What I need is something in reverse! For example, a number of caches involve some sort of puzzle. I may have worked out the solution at home, maybe giving me a new Lat/Long or perhaps a combination lock code or something. Anyway, I would like to be able to access my solution while out hunting for the cache. What I 'think' I need is a note that I can add to a cache on the website which would then be readable from the iPhone App. This note would have to be specific to me of course and not public. Obviously I could just take the note on paper but it could be months after solving the puzzle before I visit the cache so a website/App note would be far more convenient. Any ideas on how to do this at present? Thanks, Dave
  19. Thanks! It seems I hadn't accepted the terms and conditions, so the PQ list wasn't being created properly.
  20. I can run a PQ to obtain a list of caches 'along a route'. It would be useful to be able to see the results of the PQ on a map rather than just in a list. Can this be done on the website? I couldn't see how. Thanks, Dave.
  21. My Kona Kula earlier today, about 15 metres South of GC30B8. The crud catchers definitely had a good workout shortly afterwards!
