  1. I don't see anything wrong with leaving a toy gun in a cache. This has actually given me some new swag ideas.
  2. with regard to this quasi- statistic, i have to believe that too many people who don't know how to correctly use weapons carry them. carrying a weapon for which you are under-qualified is a very bad, dangerous mistake. carrying a weapon with which you are both familiar and practiced is a viable choice. I agree completely. You hit the nail on the head.
  3. Yet you will go to work, the mall and walk down city streets without a firearm? I won't. I carry to work. I carry down city streets. I don't go to the mall here because they don't allow concealed carry. If I can't carry, I don't go. Simple as that. I refuse to be a helpless victim. I'm all about increasing my odds against the violent criminals that prey upon innocent people like me.
  4. A further note on this: If you have a 'lethal' weapon (firearm, knife, etc.) never take it out if you are not ready to kill if you have to. Being willing to use means being willing to use to the fullest extent of its ability. If you point a gun at someone, you should be ready to kill them. It may sound terrible, but never shoot to wound. In a self defense situation you do not shoot to wound or kill, you shoot to stop the threat.
  5. All I carry on my person is my GPS, my Iphone, a pocket knife, and my Glock 23. I do carry what I call a bugout bag in my truck that contains survival gear. Most of the caches I have done don't involve long hikes but if I start doing them I'd probably throw it over my shoulder and carry it.
  6. We don't have bears down here where I am at in Texas (there are a few, but only a small percentage of the population ever actually sees one, or says they do, I think they are full of it but thats off the point) but we do have Wild Hogs, Javalina, Snakes, Mountain Lions, and other critters that I don't like running into unarmed. We also have a lot of criminals and perverts. I have a Concealed Carry Liscence and I carry 100% of the time unless I go into a place where it isn't allowed. Generally I carry a small caliber like a .32 when I am shopping etc but when I go into the woods to Geocache or when I go to the lake to go fishing I will carry my .40 Glock. I think it is a good idea. Never know what/who you are going to run into when in the woods!
  7. I can't wait to get my hands on one.......
  8. I had thought about getting geocaching related gifts this year but I settled on a custom cover for my bass boat....
  9. I'm gonna start a thread that poses the question, how much liquor should I drink or at the very least have on my person before I read this hunter orange thread.
  10. That looks like some beautiful scenery. Wish I could make it to that location one day!
  11. How would you possibly force someone to act? The Jackal, dude. Asside from the Jackal. Mr. Pipewrench? Now this is actually a very good example of an idea to employ.
  12. Reading what you just wrote is how annurisms (sp?) are caused....You are right though.

  14. How would you possibly force someone to act?
  15. Friend, I'll buy the first round....... It was a good thing there was a bottle near by or I might not have made it. To stay on Topic, I always wear Orange, except when I go into the woods.
  16. Now that's just scary. I try to avoid such sites because a lot of what I find on them scare the poop out of me. If for no other reason than the fact that the referenced article exists, and the fact that I don't read enough stuff like this to know better if it is a fluff article or not, worries me. As someone who got into this sport to use a bit of techno to bring me somewhere that reminds me if civilization as we know it comes to an end, there's stuff out there in nature that can replace the entertainment we live on today, I might be living in a "happy" place that tells me that I shouldn't worry about stuff like this...but then there's always that little voice in the background singing me the litte "ya ought to be listin' to this!!!" song. As for the idea, I liked it until I read the article referenced. Now, I'm not so sure. They might be watching! of course "they" are watching, "they" are always watching. I think "they" are watching me right now.....I am scared.....
  17. not much, i'd keep emailing him but be very polite and not get hostile with the person as if you got hostile with me I wouldn't do what you wanted me to do.
  18. I don't think I have ever needed a drink more than after reading this thread....
  19. I'd say go for it....I just want to be different.
  20. Let's not mention tht alo of cache reviewers and forum mods do just this. Do as I say, Not as I do I don't think its so much that, I can understand someone wanting to keep their private caching life seperate from their official cappacity here. Just think about it, people get mad at mods here a lot, would you want people who were getting mad at you being able to find your caches and travel bugs and what not? I wouldn't (even though I don't have any) but I can understand the idea.
  21. Let's not mention tht alo of cache reviewers and forum mods do just this. lol
  22. How about a nice friendly game of yahtzee to settle this?
  23. ROFLMAO - and dressed I would say to protect everyones rights in this Nude Cacher would be required to wear at least a pair of underpants to the said competition and then after that we would go with the winners decision, and it would be final.
