  1. Hi All I just wondered if anyone has seen anything about the highly recommended button I can't see anywhere to view the highly recommended Adventure Labs only a way to recommend them yourself Anyone seen any updates online about the feature please?
  2. Fortunately, when I created my 2 MOB caches, I also added an alternative method of getting the co-ords (from info at GZ, sign etc) in the listing I did this for those that cache alone or if the MOB website was down etc So I was lucky in that I did not get mine archived because they were still findable, I just needed to alter the listing I hope to use the method listed here, I have just created a page to give it a try, I saved the code that it created for editing, but at the moment I cannot see a page to edit it~ Maybe because I am in a rush getting ready for work I will look a bit later
  3. Hi All We are visiting Norway later in the year and I was looking at maps for geocaching for the Garmin The Garmin ones for Norway appear to be £114 each and there are 8 regions to purchase, wow, nearly as expensive as our holiday Can anyone recommend Norwegian Maps for the Garmin please Thank You Mark
  4. There seems to be missing Lab finds on Adventure Finds (geocaching.com) at the moment, I have checked on several family owned accounts, myself, wife, child etc and it's not just one account Hopefully it will be corrected soon
  5. Revisit your resolutions with the new searchable D/T grid – Official Blog (geocaching.com)
  6. Thanks that makes sense why mine isn't working but other members of my family are
  7. Hi All On the newer Fill My Grid sytem on the statistics page under the D/T Grid, I am just getting an error at the moment It used to work OK Is thhis a widespread thing or is it just me please Thanks
  8. Yep, I did a search before I made the post, Thanks, but that was a different issue caused by bad links etc, the correct website is actually down at the moment
  9. Certitude appears to be down, just wondered if anyone on here owns the website www.certitudes.org
  10. Thanks for the reply, as long as it's not me doing something wrong
  11. Am I missing something here please ? Has something changed ? I have just hit submit on a pocket query and no "preview the search here" link came up at the top of the page. hence mapping the location can't be accessed This was on edge, so I tried other browsers, it doesn't work on Internet Explorer either But it does still work on both Chrome & Firefox I tried resetting back to default on edge and IE but nothing seems to make a difference Does anyone else that uses Edge or IE get the link come up please ? Thanks in advance
  12. I have just noticed this, Not my petition I hasten to add so I cannot take the credit for it https://www.gopetition.com/petitions/stop-ruining-our-game.html
  13. So what has changed since HQ sent me and many others this email promising that the YOSM would not be archived then ? 3 lies in one paragraph, takes some doing Hello Mark, Thank you for contacting Geocaching HQ. I'm sorry, but we cannot give an exception for YOSM. As you probably know, it is mislisted as a virtual and is really a locationless cache. If it had been listed correctly, it would have been archived long ago with all of the other locationless caches. It has had a very long life. Fortunately for the YOSM fans in the UK, it is not being archived. None of the existing logs will be changed or removed. People who have already logged finds on it can continue to chase after it in each new location, but log with a note instead of a find. Newer geocachers that have not yet attempted it, will be able to log their first find on the listing, and continue to log visits via a note. None of the fun experience needs to change. Kind Regards,
  14. Luckily some models still allow you to modify POI's, add warnings etc I stood and went through all of the models in Halfords before I decided which model did what I wanted The Via 135 allows you to mod the Points of interest
  15. This article in the Help Center explains about Mega and side events. If you wanted any other events during a mega week the new guidance won't stop them despite everything people are saying. We didn't make up this 'rule' it's already in the guidelines for events. All we've done (with the help of Geocaching HQ) is to clarify it by giving a time and distance. As with all the guidelines they are flexible. People are convinced we never relax guidelines. We do quite often. When we do it means a cache\event will get published and no one knows what we did. If we refuse a cache (or event) for very obvious guideline reasons then everyone knows about it and we're accused of "enforcing the rules". As I understand it from recent posts on Facebook, the Bun & Brew Event (Gooodbye Event) will not be taking place this year, even though there is no other event taking place within 20 miles or 10 hours on the Monday I understand that the event has been appealed and still it will not be going ahead This event does not seem to have anything to do with the main camping event but with the Mega itself and indeed the above help centre article states that a Meet & Greet Event and Goodbye Event are encouraged If what I have heard is true, then surely these new guidelines will affect the Mega Experience as a whole, even though some are saying that it will not Everyone that I have mentioned this to have been disappointed that we will not be having a Goodbye Event this year I seldom use the Forum's but feel strongly enough to comment on this I am not having a go at the reviewers as they do a great job, and I partially get the reason for the event stacking guidelines Apologies if I haven't got the full story or if I have got an incorrect version of the story But surely this is a backward step, surely there is something that can be done so that the Goodbye Event can go ahead as normal
  16. According to this website 2017 Mega is 5th August http://devon2017mega.org.uk/
  17. I know this thread is a bit old, but for anyone still interested http://www.thecachestation.com/teacher-geocoin/
  18. Even with enable personaisation ticked, none of the premium member caches show up Loads missing
  19. Yes you are correct Matt Changed the date to June 30th and now only returning caches in 2008 Thanks Mark You haven't set the date range from 1st June to 31st (sic) of June by mistake have you? System will let that happen, and strange things then occur by all accounts!! (Noticing that March, August and December all have 31 days in them) Just tried this for myself - 1st June 2008 to 30th June 2008 returned 7 caches (all with valid placed dates), 1st June 2008 to 31st June 2008 returned over 1000 caches. Matt
  20. Any help please I am looking to collect some caches that were placed in March, June, August & December 2008 I am having trouble running a query for June 2008 No problem at all with the other Months but when I run one for June it just shows everything, 2009, 2010 etc I have tried widening my search area to the max allowed Does this mean there is a problem with the system or that there are no caches within 500 miles from June 2008 so it goes into default mode If possible could someone else try this to see what they get Regards at94
  21. Hi I'm pretty new to geocaching as well, but an old hander at using gps The way that I make sure that I don't go round in circles is to load all of the geocaches on to my satnav as well as my gps Then I set up a warning so that it alerts me if I pass within 500 yards(distance can be altered) of a cache If you are not sure how to do this you just convert the same pocket query that you have downloaded for your gps into satnav format I use POI edit to convert from gpx mto ov2, put the file on my tom tom, then set up a warning I always do this before a days caching
  22. Hi all, I'm very new to this I am planning a similar series with my work that takes me around Lincolnshire, the caches will be very related to my work, several of the places I visit would make excellent & unusual hiding places Unfortunately I don't know where I will be working from one day to the next, so my question is:- Is there a time limit between the caches going active ?, I notice that in many of the series all of the caches go active on the same day Would it be a problem if the caches went active over several weeks ie: I hide one this week in Cleethorpes, possibly one next week in a village several miles away etc I am planning 5 caches (logs only) in the series with a bonus at the end, the bonus will be a very unusual container (I'm guessing that nobody will have ever used before) & will be larger with space for swaps etc Only the first cache will have the full co-ordinates, they will progressivly be more and more digits of the remaining caches co-ords that will be coded and cracking the code will be highly dependant on finding the previous cache/caches So ideally you would need to find all 5 caches to get to the bonus Would this be classed as 1 multi + 5 unknowns or 1 traditional + 5 unknowns Thanks for any help
