  1. Aren't all crescent wrenches metric? I always grab the Crescent/32ths
  2. Some people are just to stupid to even think that their cache is unsafe. I have been to a few caches that I though were WAY up in the danger catagory, and I used my own judgment to send my kids back to the truck. A little note might be nice saying "not kid friendly" or such, but it may also take out some of the mystery for the people who are into the "NUMBERS GAME" but go for the hunt. We try to do both... Do some reasearch before you head out. Look at past logs, look at topo maps and see where it is. then make your conclusions from there. Difficulty ratings are also good (if the PLACER rated it correctly). Use common sence while out hunting and you should be fine...... Whould you agree Mo?
  3. Kevlar gloves....... No needles in my fingers...
  4. Mopiece said.... You're pretty new at this, so I would like to point out that the guidelines for hiding a cache you see now were not always like this. They've evolved over the years as problems crop up. There was a time when there was no rule about vacation caches. Those caches listed before a guideline came into effect are grandfathered in and allowed to stay. End comment Do they ever shut up on your planet??
  5. He just got out of a big hoopaa in another thread about piracy. I think he may be in cop mode..
  6. When you can go out and cache and no one else bitches at you that you did it wrong...
  7. I use GSAK to manage my waypoints. For the GPS and my PDA I have an IPAQ 3600 series (60 or so on ebay. buyer beware (3633 or something like that)) and GPX-VIEW. Gives the cache page, first five logs, and the hint if needed. INVALUABLE...... You have to run POCKET PC 2002 or later though. Not the most usefull PDA (aquiring accessories) but it gets the job done...
  8. Too much Princess Bride.... No really, thats would be my name..... LOL

  11. If you spen a good HOUR looking for a cache, then a phone call for a HINT would acceptable. But to spend 5 min looking and call "NOJOY", then you better find another hobbie that has imediate results.....

  16. I was wondering if there was software out here that would let me log my finds on my PDA and then up laod to geocaching.com? I just got into pocket quaries and when out in the field, I log on my PDA (like everyone else who has em) the info I traded and what not. I just want to be able to cut and paste into a file, and upload to Groundspeak. I did a "small" search for this topic and did find waht I was looking for...
  17. I was wrong about getting tired after 40 or 50 logs. I logged seven of your caches just now and I already got bored. Forget that. I'm going caching. Just make sure to use the JEEP... This is too dadgum funny... I LOVE comedy.... What? My post got edited.... Weird..
  18. DNF's are also used by CACHE OWNERS for cache maintence. If a lot of DNF's show up in a short time then they know they "MAY" need to go out there and check to make sure things are ok.
  19. And since your a HAM, you could incorporate that intothis hobby also. I have, and the woman can keep track of me when I am on the go. Or a friend whom lives1.5 hours away, he geo caches too and we keep track of him also. How do ask?? Why APRS of course.......
