  1. I'm not a huge coin collector. I searched through my little collection the other day to find duplicates of any I had for someone and it occurred to me that I only have them for my own pleasure and memories. I do cherish some special ones that were gifts and in memory of certain accomplishments. But there are two coins that I covet: The CCC mystery coin that has been so sought after recently. I love the humor in it and I have been jealous of those who have one. The green monster of envy has hit me I fear. The back of that coin is me to a tee. The other one is one I can't even remember specifically, but I tried unsuccessfully to get one long ago. It was a personal coin made for someone that mentions pain. I work in a pain clinic and would have loved to get one to take to work, but whomever made it said there had not been anymore for some time when I inquired about it. My two hearts desires. I'm not going to lose sleep over them, but they are the two that come instantly to me when thinking about it. Having fun anyway! anne
  2. I'll hazard a guess too. My son and his wife did the old fashioned thing with the sex of the baby kept secret til she was born. It was fun! Congratulations to all concerned! Sex: Girl Date: I'll be the one that goes late...Dec. 1 Time: 0021 Weight: 6 lbs. 11 oz. Length: 20 1/2 inches Hope I am right, but regardless, I hope and pray all goes well for you! Thanks, anne
  3. I almost never reply to these threads, but I just have to say that there is one coin that I just love. It's the first one I have ever coveted and I don't even know why. It just makes me laugh. I would love to have a CCC mystery coin. I don't even care that much for Halloween, but this one just cracks me up. It's not likely I will ever get one, but I just think it's the neatest and most creative one I have ever seen. Nice thread. thanks, anne
  4. It's a rare occasion for me to come to these threads, there are so many that I just get overwhelmed, but I saw the CCC mystery coin tonight when I stopped to play with LadyBee4T for awhile. I just want to congratulate the designer/idea person or persons for this one. The way this one looks is just cute. I laughed at it and thought it was one of the most creative I have ever seen. That's all, just had to compliment you on a really neat idea. Love the backside with the rabbit ears and the backsides of the characters. Very funny! Great job and keep having fun with it! anne
  5. Yeah! I DID IT I DID IT I DID IT!!!!!!
  6. Testing to see if I am still a techno dweeb.
  7. What a beautiful coin! I really needed a pick me up this week, so thank you so very much! What a nice thing to do. It says a lot for your character that you thought of such a generous thing to do. You showed kindness to folks out there that you don't even know. Thank you, anne
  8. When you go on a weekend trip to Chicago with 2 of your best friends. And while they are shopping and looking in the store windows you are taking pictures of every virtual on Michigan Avenue. And posing in front of, inside of and above the Garmin store. And nearly passing out when you realize that your hotel window looks right down on it, so you sleep all night with the curtain open so you can keep an eye on it. And longingly looking at every park you pass that there is no time for, because you just know there is a cache there waiting for you..... anne
  9. I have to laugh when I saw what cache you left the great swag in today! I know that cache well, it took me many more hours than it took you and I didn't have nearly the courage that you did in going into the swamp (I have learned now, but was too chicken back then). You did the right thing! I have done the same thing. I recently found a swag item in my bag when I got home after a long day of caching some distance from home. It was too far to go back and put the item in the cache. I really thought I had left it behind. Just simple human error. Pay it forward is about the best way to handle it in my opinion. And the next person to finish Soy Based Biodegradable Pixie Dust deserves that great swag! anne
  10. I heard about this forum tonight only because I was nominated. And since I have no desire to run for any political offices, I thought I better check it out quick! Getting quickly into the spirit of things, and despite the contest being finished, I must add that I am ever blessed to call LadyBee4T a good friend, a caching buddy, and one of the best laughing partners anyone could ever ask for in this lifetime! She is wonderful and I am so lucky to call her my friend. Find someone you love and let them know it. And then have a great laugh about nothing at all....just for the fun of it. Here's to you, Beverly! Anne
  11. I am not going to guess, because I happen to KNOW the answer to a couple of these questions. I am going to say that you are not as old as your years! I have met the dear LadyBee4T and cached many many miles with her, so it would be cheating if I told what I know. Sure do hate to see you home with the blues....keep thinking about the root beer stop we made once.... . And keep the guesses coming! you know who!
  12. Hey you all, the coins are great, but you should see the caches Roddy puts out! Yikes. Many hours of entertainment and fun for us all! merry christmas my friend! anne
  13. I have to add Rusty from Michigan too. But I also have to explain why I am so thrilled to add his name to the list. When I was a new cacher Rusty was very helpful to me in helping me understand the placement of a cache and the approval process. He led me through a lot of the steps and answered every question I had without the slightest hesitation. I know that he checks each and every review carefully and yet is infinitely patient. He is good at it and I am proud to mention him. I hope he wins the drawing. (though I know that many of these folks are worthy too). Thanks Rusty and Thank you, Nurse Nanna (actually just anne)
  14. I have been to the cache you are asking about, I was a bit naive about the area, didn't know about the encampments, and was surprised to see them while we searched. (And saddened too, I have contact with homeless folks in several different aspects of my life and work.) I was not alone while searching, but I think that since I frequently am unaccompanied while caching that it would probably be a good idea to just put a mention on the cache page about homelessness using this area of the woods to camp out. I was not the least uncomfortable while there, but I might have felt a bit differently had I been alone. This is a great cache placement, and the island was actually pretty open to view from across the river. The cache is removed enough from the camping area that I saw, that I don't think it should be a problem. I am not frightened by the area or the people, though I think that some type of note that there could be people in the area might keep someone from being startled unexpectedly. This was a fun cache, and I would hate to see it taken out of there. I would just bet that a smile and a hello would be appreciated by some of these folks, so much of the world is a cold place for them. thanks, nurse nanna
