  1. I recently seeked a cache with a 3 / 4 rating. The cache description lead me to the parking location which was 350 ft from cache container. A very well-traveled trail led me to within 100 ft and I think I could have found the cache with my eyes closed. The cache has been recently downgraded to 3 / 3. I would personally rate it as 1 / 1.5. Anyhoo...
  2. Maybe a good excuse for burying this particular cache.

  4. kewl, albeit heavy and a bit expensive.
  5. Could it have been Arlington Airport Trail?
  6. The features of Geocaching.com make this easy for you to do yourself. Just go to the cache page while you're logged in and click 'Edit this cache'. You'll figure it out from there.
  7. Just went out to find a cache. Stopped and picked up OFF - 100% deet. Decided to buy a 2nd to leave in the cache container. Back now. So far, no ticks found.

  9. a.k.a. Occoneechee Head Banger. After examining the contents of the cache, I stood up (forgetting about the rock outcropping just over my head). I left a Beanie Babie, a 'Serenity Now' bumber sticker, a treasure chest toy box, and a trail of BLOOD. Took home some candy, a flashlight, and FIVE STICHES in my head. Yes, really! The hike and the search for the cache were alot of fun. The 2 hours in Urgent Care sucked. I wanted to share the adventure and the story, but I don't want to scare anyone off. It was my own dumb fault. Just BE CAREFUL.

  13. Coincidentally, I read your log of Mountain Toy Joy cache JUST prior to seeing this thread. I've seen several recent logs of local caches mentioning tick infestations. It looks like the ticks are out early in full force!
