  1. Orange vest and a clipboard. I got a cache on a busbench while it was occupied. The riders wouldn't even look my way...LOL
  2. I have a gpsmap 60CSx and Mapsource City Select v4.01. I used the 25 digit code that came with it and I can see the map in Mapsource. But when I try to download to my GPS I get a message saying "The following maps have not been unlocked for your GPS." Help!!!
  3. My first tattoo came after boot camp 1986. Everyone told me I'd regret it. 1988 I got my second and third tattoo's. Everyone told me I'd regret it. 2002 I got y next tattoo. Everyone told me I'd regret it. 2003 I got my next tattoo. Everyone told me I'd regret it. I don't regret a single one. Yes I'll get more. I think one that represents this part of my life will include Geocaching. My only advice is that if you have to ask advice on a tattoo.....don't get it. When something means something to you.,......and that subject has to do with your tattoo, and that is surely what you want....GO FOR IT. If you look for approval in what another has to say about YOUR tattoo....Move on. Ink isn't for you.
  4. US Army 86-90. Military Police in Europe(Yup, Tower Rat) as well as CONUS. 101st Airborne, 101MP Co. My son is currently 3/7 Marines.
  5. I just picked up a brand new with tags Mil Spec Camelbak Mule in 3 color desert for $42.00 on e-bay. No problems with the transaction and the Camelbak is as advertised.
  6. Yes, you'd be mistaken. Proximity/cache saturation guidelines apply to all stages of a multicache. Some reviewers are more strict than others regarding intermediate stages and virtual stages of multi's, but all of us check the location of the final cache container. OOOPS!!!! Well its not the first time.....probably not the last...... My bad.
  7. I may be mistaken....but...if you place it as the final step of a multi it will be exempt from the 1/10th mile rule. Wouldn't hurt to check.
  8. "Nilla" loves it! Just like a big playground...
  9. Mine is a patch from my SWAT days......it means that you only have one as* to risk. You know 1*. Still my credo....
  10. I am an LEO.....But my better half caches with me and carries all of the time. I am never without.....too many dirtbags that I have "put away" are out now and don't care for me...
  11. I picked up a TB with all intents and purposes of moving it closer to it's destination almost two weeks ago. I had a trip planned that direction but it got postponed. Should I place it in the area for someone else or wait until I can get east o' here.? Don't wan't to hijak the TB.....don't wan't to waylay it either.....
  12. Actually I can think of three confirmed deaths in the last two years...and those were in just two states.
  13. I saw one very near a cache in SE New Mexico just this week. I pulled up near the cache site and stopped. I saw movemenet that I thought was a mule deer. I had seen several that morning. There it was, bounding up the hill and going over the top. It looked beautiful! Thats only the third mountain lion I have ever seen.........I wonder how many were there that I didn't see.........
  14. Must be in the blood...I carry just about everything you do....with the addition of climbing gear in the truck. Your cruiser trunk must be stuffed Just remember that 1* applies 27/7.
  15. I see...so a micro in a scenic location(nice park?) would be less disliked? I sure have enjoyed all of the sunsets I've been taking in while caching after work.
  16. I have been reading alot in the forums. It seems like there are an aweful lot of people that dislike(or worse) micro's? Whats the big deal? Is it the lack of swag space? I have found only a couple of micro's but had fun non the less. Can anyone enlighten my tadpole brain?
  17. 5 years active duty Army as an MP. Still serving...just on the civillian side.
  18. Enjoy the journey....use your brain when you hide a cache.....don't leave geo-trash in cache's.....intoduce someone to Geocaching.
  19. I have a cache in mind that will be a multi cache and will require both intense searching for a very well hidden urban micro and several more small hides in high angle enviroments......or very steep places. The cache will reqire quite a bit of finese and cunning.....at least I hope it will.
  20. The Surefire G2 Nitrolon has 65 lumes and is only about 4" long. Great little light. I own several. For about 34$ you can't beat it.
  21. I like the off the wall trades. I am new but I have used Vegas chips..>I have taken a chip from Monaco. I have left some unique pins. I think geopins and sig items are cool. One of the last caches I visited had only Mctoys in it. All I had was Wine Glass Markers. No trade there. I would like pocket knives but I understand the ban on them. Look in a drawer that you have put "whatever" in and give it a go.
  22. My newbie opinion?....Hides that make me think. Hard to find, very well hidden, sneaky as heck hides are fun. I want to feel like I earned something. I want to have to work for it. I am having a ball with hides. Moreso in the hiding....
  23. My first cache is in a small "Otter Box". Its tough and waterproof to 30ft. The local dive shop has them for under $10.
  24. I have MS Streets and Trips(not 2005 but a version I bought last year). My Garmen E-trex works just fine with it. All I had to do was set the program settings to match the GPS output.
