ALL HAIL THE LEGEND. Ive had mine for a year and have beat the crap out of it. The thing is a rock, and still receives sat signal in long tunnels...ok...maybe not that good but it does great under heavy tree cover...all in all, two thumbs up for the Legend, it isnt called a Legend for nothing!

would anyone be willing to trade a Garmin GPS 60 for a new plain yellow GPS (Garmins older ones). it has to be in like new condition.

hmmm...well really none of them...i cant take them to the bank and deposit them and have them gain interest. i guess the geocoins that mean the most are the ones I LOGGED AND MOVED TO ANOTHER CACHE FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO FIND.

is there anyway that they could put the C on the Colorado flag as the icon for the Colorado geocoin? you guys in Colorado are getting ripped off in this icon game.

is there anyone that even hunts for the hard stuff? i think if it would be fun to tackle some of the hard ones with a team. but i guess lame micros are the flavor of the month. but incase there are any adventurers out there in the south east...let me know if you would like to get together to nab a hard cache. i would be more than willing to go.

Cache-bert...i think tthat is a good idea. why spend a couple hundred dollars to get the coins made, place them in caches only to have your lot of 100 coins stolen in less days than coins you released. i say if it aint broke...dont fix it. its kind of like sticking it to those who find that coin and really want to steal it. what a gret idea.

I usually order two of any coin i want...one to keep and one to release to the public. i think everyone should be able to log a special geocoin...half the thrill is finding one. for some the thrill is passing it on for someone else to find. God bless the cachers that catch and release.

Garmin etrex Legend C...i could fall in a large whole in the earth and it would still be tracking 8 satellites. it is named Legend appropriately. I tried the GPS 60 and map 60...but they both track horribly...they sit on the shelf now collecting dust.

is there a thread where people can post which hard caches, higher than a 4/4 they are going to try and get. that way they can recruit others to join the adventure and maybe log something better than a lame micro?

I am looking for anyone willing to trade GPSs. This can be to try a new one out or because you are simply tired of yours. I would be willing to trade the following...any takers please reply. Garmin GPSmap 60 for Garmin GPSmap 76 or Garmin GPS 60 for Garmin Foretrex 101 any counter offers will be considered.

the Legend is God...i bought 2 newer Garmin GPS 60 series and was appalled at their aquisition time and tracking under heavy tree cover...the Legend tracks like a king, is small and is rugged. unless you have bad eyes i recommend the Legend.

First GPS was a Garmin etrex Legend C...thought that it did a pretty good job. thought that it would be better to have a faster model with a new, cool, better? antenna for faster sat acquisition and tracking under trees...bought a Garmin GPS 60...a total waste...i thought maybe if i bought a higher end one that the tracking would be better and still not lose reception under heavy tree cover...bought a Garmin GPSmap 60...just as crappy as the GPS 60...so i use the etrex Legend C everywhere i go and am trying to pawn the other two because i am totally dissapointed in their performance. to bad i couldnt get a GPS to track like the Legend with the hardware layout of the GPS 60/map 60 series...i could fall to the middle of the earth and the Legend would still not lose reception...God bless the Legend..it was named appropriately!

how long does it take for a cache to have a red check next to it when i do a waypoint visualization? i ahve logged several caches and they have yet to have the red checks next to them on the waypoint visualization...just curious.

I primarily use an etrex Legend C. i currently bought a GPSmap 60. i thought these new antennas and newer designs would be much better than an older unit. I was so wrong. My Legend tracks like a champ and often keeps reception indoors. The new GPSmap 60 says that the sat recieve times are better...false. I think the layout of the GPSmap 60 is better but it does not receive better or track better than the Legend. Why would Garmin tout this new GPS as better if it really isnt? Also i get different readings to the cache from both GPSs. the older says one the newer another. ususally the older is right, but the distances often differ by about 40ft at some times...never are they saying the same thing at the same time. if you are thinking about buying a new GPS...i would say go with the older version of Garmins. if anyone else has experienced this problem please let me know if you have corrected it.
