  1. I haven't been to the forums in a while, but I was under the impression that c:geo was not an approved app here because of the way it scraped the site's data, and that all mentions of it would be edited out of the forums. Has this changed in the past few months? For what it's worth, I use GeoHunter on my Droid1 and haven't had any major issues with it. If c:geo is no longer frowned upon, though, I may check it out again.
  2. GeoBeagle isn't the application-that-shall-not-be-named. I just switched from using GeoBeagle to GeoHunter. The latter is actually a branch project of the former, so they look very similar, but GeoHunter has a few nicer features that I appreciate.
  3. It's hard to say exactly what could be the problem without being able to see your folder structure, but here's a couple things I would suggest checking: 1) When you changed your import folder setting, did you just type 'geostuff'? The full path you want to type in would be '/sdcard/geostuff'. Your error message makes it sound like it's looking for the geostuff folder in the wrong location. 2) Mount your SD card as a drive on your computer; sometimes it's easier to figure out the structure when you have a GUI to navigate through. I'm also pretty sure your download folder should be there automatically; it shouldn't be anything you would need to create manually.
  4. I've never tried out any of the paid Android geocaching applications, but I am a fan of GeoBeagle / GeoHunter (the latter is branched off of the former, so they're pretty much the same. GeoHunter has some nicer features, though). You can find instructions for GeoBeagle here: http://www.cacheopedia.com/wiki/GeoBeagle
  5. Your SD card wasn't mounted at the time, was it? You'll need to unmount it before you can access it.
  6. I plan on at least doubling my find count.
  7. Thanks for the info, guys! I wasn't too sure about how hard-nosed some travel bug owners might be about their bug going off-course, but now I won't worry too much about grabbing one without knowing the mission first.
  8. First off, this is purely hypothetical. I cache with my phone and can look up a travel bug's mission while I'm still at the cache, then decide whether or not to take it. Say you don't have that ability, though, and remove the travel bug from the cache. When you get home, you look it up and realize that you can't help it on its quest. Do you run back to the cache and put it back? If you've already logged the find, do you put another note saying you put the bug back? Put it in a different cache, but still close to the one you found it in? I'm just curious, in case I'm ever in a situation where I can't look up the bug before taking it. Is it best to just leave the bug there if you don't know its mission, or always look up the bug before you go hunting for the cache? Thanks for any info!
