  1. Thanks for the advice everyone! I got it to work and found my first cache today! So fun!

i know its like that once you found ur first one your ho0ked //i am thinking so bad to call in sick 0ne day just to go geocaching alll day :)

  2. Sorry, I'm new at this. I just got an eTrex and loaded the geocaches onto it. When I highlight one of the geocaches and click "Go To" a compass comes up. However, the compass does not seem to change direction when I move around. Is there another way to find the geocache using a map instead of the compass? Again, I'm very new at this. Thanks!

Which Etrex did you get? Some require calibration.

At the compass page hit menu, do you see an option for bearing pointer?

I WAS G0INGin around and around with mind intill learn that the compass needed calibrated its not that hard to also just have to read ur manal just read the book that came with it it helps :D

  3. If you become a premium member ($30 per year) you will have access to Pocket Queries. PQs allow you to download up to 500 caches based on criteria you specify either along a route in in an area. There is a free program that will print out a list based on the PQ.

Yea that is what i been trying to do figure out the pocket Queries I am a premium member i look at it a few weeks back but lost hope in trying to figure it out and yes i work in a office and i am on the computer most of the day so i do know h0w to work things??

  5. I put my contact info on the welcome screen. I've lost my unit once and gotten it back because I did so.

Stuff I've found while caching? A football, a plastic cup good enough to keep, and some golf balls. I'm thinking about bringing a metal detector.

I am still learning to use my gps i have a GARMIN etrex vista i had it now a few weeks and every other morning when i am satting in the market cafe eating breskfast and drinking coffee and mess with it and i found thta it has a battery bar letting me know h0w much power that i have left that is a A-plus for me to know the power i have left, and also i did notice that upon turning it on this unit belongs to ///it shows blank how do i get my name on it or in it??/

  8. I have to say when i found my first TB(travel bug) I have heard about them but getting one is more the fun i didnt know what to do with it once that i got it this one had a big ant on it so i got on line and this is what i found ~1. How to log a Trackable, ~I DID READ THE INFO and it help me a lot,and after lo0king over TB logs or travel route, having one of your own was better than finding one so i order one of mind own.The info that Groundspeak® and the Modertors they have and the work they put into the forum is very helpful.and its much appreciated, after all i know how the forums work it takes alot of work to keep a forum cleaned up and everything in order i know i ran a fourm for over 3 yrs in an on-line game that i had.So Modertors, and Groundspeak® Keep up the great work †

  9. 0k i know thta this is his topic and i have lo0k at the ~ report a new Cache and copy it on paper and looking it over before hand, and i like to ask once that a person place's a new cache on his part click on cache type, cache size, cache name, who place it(Relate Web page)(Background Image URL:),coordinates, short description, long description/hints//////tHIS PART HERE→→ Relate Web page)(Background Image URL:),

I dont understand can you help me with it ??

Wow!! I don't believe you could have made that any harder to read!! After much reading and re-reading, I *think* that I finally understand what you are asking. If your question is, "what are the Related Web Page" and "Background Image URL" for... the answer is don't worry about them. Just ignore them. They are simply options that you probably won't be using anyway.

L0l i can see now what i did so wrong I was multitasking here @w0rk and multitasking here on the forum and everything was running together a little of that into this lol my bad please for give me and thks for ur help :)

  12. Another option for quite a bit cheaper is the super basic Bushnell 200CR available from Radio Shack for $50.

Bushnell Onix 200CR Refurbished unit - Radio Shack $46.99 plus free site-to-store shipping

I got this one and although it has a steep learning curve, I found that it keeps very good satellite signals even in thicker trees/clouds and is very accurate. Mine also included the USB cable to load the maps, updates and so on.

I would not get the Bushnell you can not do anything with it i had 0ne before i got the one thta i have now

  13. I thank you for your time and your help in this keep up the great work in helping us //whats the old saying give a person a fish and he eats for a day teach him how to fish and he eats for a life time//or somthing in that matter thks :(
