My recipient lives so close to me that I just hand delivered the package....literally. My right hand did the delivering and my left hand did the receiving. This is the quickest mission I've EVER participated in!

I arrived home this evening, opened my mailbox, and found a silver mailer!!! Immediately, I looked at the return address to see if it was from me to me. It wasn't, but I saw the word "Cointrack" and "Geofun" on the mailer. That could only mean one thing...GEOCOIN!!! I opened the mailer and sure enough, there was a very cool looking coin along with an official-looking, but cryptic memo inside. I read through the note quickly because I wanted to get back to examining the coin. I saw, "Unit may be exchanged with or forwarded...", so I thought, "Yay! I can keep it!!!" I received coin #008 - I'm now part of the study group and the coin (or "unit" ) is now part of my collection!!!! Mystery-coin person, you're very creative! I love the website and the whole set-up of your mystery coin! Great job!!! Thank you very much for your generosity and for spreading some "cheer"! P.S. I can't wait to show my brother - he's a space cadet, no, wait, that's not the term! He's a space fan (as in really liked "The X-Files") and I'm sure he'll get a kick out of this coin/project!

I've been very busy at work and have kind of drifted away from geocoins and this forum. However, this evening I got home from work and and checked my mail. I found a gold bubble mailer addressed to me, from me! Since I haven't been in the forums for a few months, I had no idea what it was, but a bubble mailer could only mean one thing - A GEOCOIN!!! Immediately thoughts started racing through my head, had I signed up for a mission a few months ago? Did I enter and win a contest? I opened the mailer and found a smaller envelope with Carpe Diem coin #023!! Love the coin and love the phrase! Reminds me of one of my favorite movies of all time, "Dead Poet's Society". Thank you very much, mystery sender!!!! That was really, really nice of you! I can't even guess who you are as the mailer didn't have the stamp from the post office with the city/state where it originated from! I have no idea how you managed that, but I really appreciate your generous gift! I'm adding it to my coin binder...and I think I'll end up coming back into the fortums (think I'm getting the "geocoin itch" again!).

I thought it was supposed to be mailed ?????????????????????????? That would be CHEATING and you would be disqulified. LOL! Now we're talking about being "disqualified" from the mission/race? LOL! Well, actually, now that you mention it, if Team Victory does it, they should be disqualified, but if Team Winner does it, it should be permitted. Hehehehe

You're absolutely right, Chickahominy! Receiving two coins and having to choose just one, was fun (a bit torturous, but fun). This is a cool mission, not only is it nice anticipating the receipt of two unknown coins, but the race factor and the friendly banter between both teams on this forum is also entertaining. So, thanks for coming up with this mission! I'm really enjoying it! I sent the little bus to the person in our team who is in the state furthest west. I figured that person could the begin the trek to the east (rather than criss-crossing all over the US). So...be on the lookout, "person who lives to the west of everyone else"....and who is eating popcorn!

I got the first package!!! Yay for "Team Winner"! But now I have a huge dilemna...which coin to keep?! I like both! One was on my Seeking list and the other wasn't...yet - - - but it was one I wanted. Decisions, decisions, decisions! Well, I'll decide before the evening is over then I'll also pick the next recipient and mail the package tomorrow morning!

Very pleased with my trades! I got one in particular which I didn't think I'd be able to get!!! Also, when I was going to through my list of receivables, I noticed that I'm getting one which I have no idea what it is. I went through my handwritten "rough draft" and sure enough, the number is there on my "Want List" - I transposed two digits. That's what happens when you do something in front of the TV! But it's okay, I pretty much like all coins, so it'll be a nice addition to my collection! Thanks for arranging this, Chuck!
