  1. I'd just change my username or create a new account. IBTL
  2. We did hear some sticks cracking every couple minutes, but we just thought it was animals. Someone was probably watching.
  3. I have one cache that does not get found often. It is a 5/4 on a hillside.
  4. It was a public trail, and other caches were near it and they mentioned nothing about permission, so I assumed I didn't need it.
  5. I went to place a new cache maybe a week ago. I found the nicest little spots for my multi, the spots looked like no one ever went there and there was a nice view. After I had submitted the cache report, I realized I had forgotten to test my idea before placing it. So I went back the next day, and to my surprise, all 3 stages were gone. The cache wasn't even published yet! why would someone do this, and how did they know where all 3 stages were? They obviously came prepared, because 2 of the stages involved attachment with cable ties, and the cable ties were cut, and the containers were gone. Any thoughts or opinions on why this happened?
  6. I figure I will see how it goes, and if it doesn't work out, I will change it so that they require their own jug.
  7. The jug ends up being filled and then taken to a pipe which you plug the end of and fill to get the cache. (luckily no oakville cachers read these forums that I know of)
  8. I will also have a note in the description saying that if they are not going to return the parts, to please not attempt the cache. And even if it were to get stolen, it can be easily and cheaply replaced.
  9. Yes, there will be a note on the jug that says to return it. And thank-you for the info!
  10. OK, so I am thinking of placing a multi-cache. The first stage you will collect a jug, and the second you will come to a creek and fill it up. What should the waypoint of the creek to fill it up at be classified under additional waypoints?
  11. You can also look in the profile of a cacher who has been active for a long time in your area.
  12. Please also note that a WAAS enabled unit is of no use in the GTA if you are in Ontario, Canada.
  13. I have in the past patched holes in containers, added a new log sheet (but placed it in along with the old one) and in one case replaced the whole container because the CO was no longer on the site. It depends on you how far you want to go, and some CO's might not want you to maintain their cache.
  14. Have they ran any tests of the system lately? Because the other day I was out caching and the gps said 20m to cache, then 30, then 40, then 50, all the way up to 160 m away while standing in the SAME spot. Then it slowly came back down to 20ish meters away.
  15. Is there a tunnel under the highway?
  16. Bumping an old thread, I seem to be having the same issue as the OP, and i have quit hotsync.
  17. Our first find was a geocache just a walk from home. We were out there in the snow with the TomTom car GPS for at least an hour. We were so happy when we found it.
  18. I sure hope that it won't make it all slow again for a day...
  19. It seems to me that most of the caches in my area are micros. And a lot of the micros are IN THE WOODS!!! Glancing at my database tells me this. I don't understand micros in the woods!!!

    CACC?

    Thanks for the log?
  21. TFTC means Time for the calamity. http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=oG37YCE96HM&vq=medium#t=357
  22. I did. I honestly have no clue which chipset it is, as Windows 7 detected it automatically, so I had no need to manually get drivers like in XP... I am using firefox. I will try IE when I am back on my PC.
  23. I have never found a 5/5, but I have placed a 5/4 cache.
  24. No, I did it... "Thank you for registering your eTrex Venture® at Garmin.com. By registering with us, you'll have access to the most recent information about your device."
  25. It's a used GPS. Maybe the free pm has already been used, too? It says nothing about already used... It says this: The Garmin device is either not connected or to isn't registered at My Garmin.
