  1. Although I've only been caching for two seasons, fall and winter, I have been hiking/camping for many more. I almost always prefer the winter (as long as it is not bitterly cold) to any other season because I just think it is more beautiful. I have not run into any problems w/snow accumulation hindering my efforts to find a cache, even when we've had fresh snow. Sometimes I'm wary that I might not be able to find it, and on those cases, hey, I'm still burning calories.
  2. As a person who has OCD in real life and is not ashamed to admit it, I can say I have never felt compelled to find every single cache in my area -- lame or long hike -- there's actually one people have asked me to do but I don't because I don't feel as I will have fun with it. However, I do obsess over somethings, such as finding certain caches. When most of my friends have given up, I just keep on going, and most of the time I'm not able to find it. Now for those people who are addicted to geocaching (I think I'm approaching that point, too), I dunno. - JD
  3. I'm cetified by both the American Heart Association and the Red Cross as a first responder as well as being able to provide instruction and certify those for CPR certification, basic first aid, and a course called "When Help is Delayed", which comes into context a lot in Boy Scouts. Don't know if that "qualifies" me but it's my contribution to the safety of the world. :/
  4. I've been having the same problem with my Garmin Etrex ... I think the joystick has left permanent impressions in my skin. I am considering calling Garmin and telling them about it, how long did it take all of you to get your GPS's back I don't know how long I can go without geocaching. :/
  5. Unforunately being a 17 year old geocacher, most people suspect me more than they would any adult. I find it disheartening, but oh well. I usually just honestly tell them what I'm doing and most of the time they believe me, once in a while they threaten to call the cops and other times muggles have taught me how to tap a tree for maple syrup. - Eagle Spirit0
