  3. Shiver me timbers...that be wonderful!
  4. Nice...wish they had been released when hubby was in Australia a couple of weeks ago. Rats!
  5. Heather loves those "white flowers"
  6. The force must be strong with the recipients...
  7. I was curious about that also. I decoded it...found the font online...it says MICKEY I had to look it up again...the name of the font/runes/whatever you want to call it is AUREBESH
  8. I was curious about that also. I decoded it...found the font online...it says MICKEY
  9. Not a joke...here's Heather holding ours...
  10. I agree-Mysterycoiners are the best! Thanks to whoever you are that shelled out your hard earned money to make other people happy. I don't know the legal aspects either, but I think Disney has more things to be worried about than a few geocoins being sent out for free. This has been done and done so I'm not sure why the issue over this particular coin? Here, Here! Ditto!
  11. Glad you posted your back...been a hectic day here.
  12. Our photo is real...I am not creative enough to make this up for 4/1 edit to add...I did not have time to snap a pic of the back, and the ones I took later (inside) did not turn out well...will try to snap the back later
  13. It has been a long time since my mailbox has seen anything worthy of a post, but today's did... SWEET!
  14. You could always use the same tracking number attached to soemthing else...like a TB...maybe something representative of the soldiers you wish to honor. Just make sure that you make a note of the lack of coin in the trackable description, so people are not confused when they do not see a coin.
  15. I am very disaapointed to hear about this site...I would be upset to see one of my coins reproduced in this manner. Back on topic...if you have more than 1 copy of the coin in question (ie: 2 compass rose geocoins), you could probably grind off the tracking number of the new coin and engrave the old one on it (or attach a laminated card to it with the tracking number to the coin)...of course, that would mean throwing away a tracking number, which probably not a good idea. But wouldn't you rather see something like this out there replacing missing coins rather than a picture on a wooden nickel or such? I can't speak from the perspective of a having designed a real coin, but from a coin owners perspective I have lots of geocoins MIA and if replacing them I would rather doing it with something nice looking and durable rather than cheap and nasty - and I am sure those finding it would rather that too. Yes, that does sound better...but, a copy is still a copy. When we release coins, we assume that we will never see it again. We love watching them travel...and it seems like they travel better now than they did years ago. If ours goes missing, we are disappointed, but do not feel it necessary to replace it with something else. edit to add that I understand why the OP wants to "replace" these coins...they were serving a special purpose

It's my understanding that any reproduction would only be done so with permission of the original creator of the original coin. Out of curiosity, do you feel this strongly about people putting laminated photocopies of your coin out to travel after their coins have been stolen? I do not like the idea of photo copies either...whether it is my coin or someone else's. Regardless of whether it is a paper or metal xerox of the coin, it is not the coin I hope to see in the cache when I see an icon associated with the cache that I am seeking. There is a certain trill to see a geocoin in a cache. If I want to see a paper copy, I can print those out myself...LOL! I wish there was a way to indicate these were copies (other than the trackable name or description) in the cache...but I guess that would have a drawback too...it would indicate to the geocoin thiefs where they could load up. I guess there is no easy solution...ours is that we choose not to log or move copies. A metal copy seems a lot more permanant than a laminated paper copy, so I do feel a little more strong about it for this reason. I am happy to hear that permission will be required.

  18. Love em...you are just missing my fave character...C3PO. He had some of the best lines... "Don't you call me a mindless philosopher, you overweight glob of grease!"
  19. Gotta love Oriental trading...and Pat Catans (local craft store). We gave away so many beads, masks, etc last night. I even had 2 hand-made items as prizes (made by my lil dragon claws)...a King Cake for the kids and a fleece blanket decorated to 8 trackables for our scavenger hunt participants...but my favorite prizes were the LPCs. I found lamp post centerpieces, and attached some beads and bison tubes/nanos to them. Not to often you get to take home an LPC, complete with lamp post. LOL! As usual, I did not have much time to take pictures (we had around 200+ people attend - 95 caching names signed the log)...I think I finally got to sit down to eat when there was only 30 minutes left to the event...but will post what I have later...once I find my camera.
  20. Just finished baking the prize for the kids game at our event tonight. Should be fun!
