  1. I use a golf pencil I keep in my pocket. I went caching and forgot to bring a writing stick so I went into a grocery store and found a WA state lottery kiosk with free short pencils so I have used it ever since. I suppose what I am getting at is try to get an alternate pencil source if you can lol. Just let the co know or replace the pencil yourself.
  2. I am going to my first event this weekend, what does it mean when people log trackables into an event? Do you have to be the owner of the item or just have it on hand for people to discover?
  3. I don't know what buses you take from Olympia but I do know that metro routes 26, 28, 30 and 31 all stop near the event. So if you just looked em up on metro you could find a way to connect.
  4. Garmin etrex venture HC- covered by my scolarship as a scientific item.
  5. LPCs are the easiest caches ever. Once you find one you found em all. Oh well at least I get a smiley (It isn't micro spew if there is nothing but parking lot for a square 0.10 mile)
  6. We all know the honor system does not work, its a life lesson we have understood as soon as we reach adulthood. As soon as someone can get away with someone they will. Color me jaded but it's true. There is only one person you can control and that is you. So just be happy you are doing your best and are not contributing to the problem. (bad spellling ficksed)
  7. Get a securely waterproof container in the first place lol. Whatever you do don't get the ones that have a sliding zipper. Once someone folds it or is rough with it it falls of its trac and ruins the seal. So in the event that the container is not closed properly or has reached the end of it's life and water comes in the log is soaked. I like freezer bags because they are study and are meant for long term keeping. I think it's just eventual that you have to go out and replace your ziplocks. Unless you want to put a micro container in there with a roll up logbook. (Which is more expensive and annoying to roll out and put back in)
  8. I try to just put DC on crammed logs (or micro logs to save room for others). As for wet logs you can add your own page or sig item if there isn't an already dry corner.
  9. I was thinking about taking Metro to the event but it appears that Metro doesn't run in the valley on the weekends, that or my Metro route finding skills really suck ( a definite possibility). http://metro.kingcounty.gov/ Try the trip planner. Or find a route close to a friend's that you can park your car at to find a bus.
  10. I'd rather people not. I found a fence end cache and people put goodies in it which jammed the log book up so far I had to shake it out. Not good when trying to be stealthy.
  11. I live in the city so naturally I automatically go to defend myself when snuck up on in secluded places. (Such as a wooded area, at night or even if someone just scares the crap out of me) This being said if someone snuck up on me while at a cache site I might end up attacking/macing them thinking they are up to no good. I'd feel really bad about it after realizing they meant no harm though.
  12. I walk or take the bus to caches because I don't own a car.
  13. There needs to be a shirt with a picture of a lamp post with "skirtlifter" underneath it. That might be creepy but, funny!
  14. Can you post a link to the cache page? I'd be more than happy to look at it.
  15. What cache were you looking for O.o
  16. Wow that's not cool. If someone is nice enough to hide a cache you should at least be nice enough to say something positive. Even if it's a simple thanks for the smiley or TFTC that's good enough for me.
  17. It's about the hunt, not the find. Relax and enjoy. When I am tense or rushed I tend not to think clearly and end up DNFing. If you fail, try again, it's no biggie. Sometimes I have had to make 3+ tries on some caches before I finally find the darn thing that others can find in 5 minutes. Once you get used to your GPS and how people hide geocaches you will get better at it. Know what you are looking for in terms of the container and use hints on the page. Think like the hider and look for unnatural shapes. I get sliced by thorns so much that it does not bother me anymore. I got a pretty good slice doing a BlackBerry theme cache the other day
  18. I had a dream I broke a real sprinkler head that caused a massive geyser... oh wait...
  19. Clams? Did someone mention clams? Would we get to wear the neato CLAM uniform? Sorry guys but that looks like a pickle on a hamburger bun.
  20. 63 finds and 2 hides. So roughly 30 finds per hide.
  21. 63 finds and 2 hides. So roughly 30 finds per hide.
  22. I did that too >< Better clear the history before my roomie goes to do her HW on my laptop.
  23. I like playing multi's for the challenge.
  24. I want to make a puzzle cache someday, so I want to do a few fun and good puzzles first to get an idea. (That and reach 100 total finds) Anyone got any reccomendations? The better instruction they have the better for my sanity. (Ones that don't tell me what to do annoy me to no end.)
  25. Perhaps a stick and some chewing gum?
