  1. I'm guessing it's this log: Based on the Google StreetView imagery at that location, my guess is "pine tree hide". Yup, just answered my own question. Thanks for the help!
  2. See the A-Team response, that's the log entry. I'm thinking maybe "Pine Tree Hang"?

    PTH?

Been doing this a while but came across a new acronym in my logs today. Can anyone tell me what PTH stands for?
  4. Ok, I think I answered my own question here. My concern was how to place the final but make it an actual cache as far as the geocaching website was concerned. By looking at my example GC1NJDZ I see that the final is listed as an "Unknown Cache" type. All I need to do is set up an "Unknown" as the main series page/cache where everyone can list their finds and will allow me to post the coordinates without revealing them (to the public), to the geocaching website. Then I just set up a series of normal caches with the clues. Thanks for your help!
  5. If this is covered somewhere on the forum I apologize cause I just can't find it. I've been caching for some time and have a small number of my own various types of caches but the ones that I enjoy finding the most have been the cache series types. To be clear this is a group of caches that are usually published all at the same time, each cache contains a clue which needs to be put together so that the coordinates for the final can be determined (see GC1NJDZ South Jersey Check Point Challenge). This is not like the new challenge feature where you have to perform some kind of feat (take a picture, visit a location) but a group of physical, distinct, individual caches. They seem to be started by geocaching clubs but I can't find any information on them. Can anyone help?
  6. MrsB, thank you so much for your most helpful post. I seem to have made a mess of the reply (the interface is just way too confusing).
  7. The Collectible option is for trackable items that you want to keep with you at all times. It's used mostly by cachers with Collections of geocoins that don't go out travelling from cache to cache but stay in their private collection. If you mark your vehicle TB 'Collectible' you can then select the drop-down option 'Move to collection'. This means it will no longer show up in your 'Trackables Inventory'. Other cachers who see its tracking number will be able to log 'Discovered it' for your vehicle, or a Note log. This option will work well for your vehicle... But... If you want the ability to log your vehicle 'into' caches for mileage, e.g. you want to drive it to an event and log it into the event to show it was there, OR if you want to log a 'visit' for the vehicle to other caches that you may drive to, then you'll need to designate it as 'Not Collectible'. It will then show in your Trackables Inventory, all ready to be dropped off into a cache. MrsB

  9. I'm activating a vehicle TB and I see a check box marked "Make Collectible". What does this mean?
