  1. Wow, what a neat looking coin !! I really like the Antique Silver edition.

  3. Mount Desert Island is famous for wild blueberries. Around this time of year (August/September), the blueberries are ripe and ready to pick. I remember being on a camping trip to Mount Desert Island when I was about 10 years old and there were wild blueberries everywhere. You could take one of the trails and fill up several bowls full of blueberries.
  4. I'm pretty sure that the McDonalds on Lower Main Street in Stroudsburg has free WiFi. If you're not sure where the McDonalds is located, it's very near the cache "Colonel Jacob Stroud Was Here" - GCKAGR .
  5. I think everybody loves this picture. CONGRATULATIONS TYSON !!!
  6. Please add my name to the mission list. My name is in the address book.
  7. I've been away on a geo-adventure trip to the west coast and just got back, and I'm just catching up on all of the forum posts. I missed the other 5 missions, so I'd like to get in on the 6th mission. I'd love to get a v2 GSA coin. I have received a few mystery coins over the last few years, and I cherish them very much. I've also received a few coins as gifts from others which I also cherish, not because of what the coin is, but because of the thought behind the gift of the coin. I've never ever sold any of my coins (gifted to me or bought for cash) on Ebay or anywhere else, and I will NOT sell any of them. I've been wanting a v1 GSA coin, but never saw any in caches in my area. It would be really neat to get a v2 coin. The GSA v2 mystery coin is just that, very mysterious. It's a great looking coin and it would be really fantastic to have one to show to all of the other geocoin fanatics in my local area.
  8. Congrats to Stellar Jr. Here's a picture of Stellar Jr after she made this milestone find.
  9. Received 2 Allegany State Park GeoBash 2008 coins today.
  10. There's one in Washington state and one in Brazil! The one in Washington State... Mission 9: Tunnel of Light (GC1169) We're leaving on June 14th and taking the train (Amtrak) from Philadelphia to Seattle. Hope to find the APE Cache on either June 18th or 19th.
  11. Two packages in the last two days... Yesterday: Dark Knight mystery coin Today: 2008 Earth Turtles (1 green/1 purple/1 multi-colored)
  12. THANKS EVERYONE FOR THE CONGRATULATIONS. I was planning on finding a special cache out west for #1000 in mid-June, but I just got carried away and kept finding too many caches here in Pennsylvania. However, the cache I did for #1000 was a memorable one that was both physically and mentally challenging and a fun one to do. I still have 3-1/2 weeks to go, maybe the APE cache can be #1050 or #1100.
  13. Had a surprise envelope in the mailbox today. Opened it up and found Dark Knight mystery coin *070. Wow, what a great surprise. Thank you so much Dark Knight, whoever you are. I did have to laugh though, the last cache I did a few days ago was named "To The Bat Cave". It's a really neat shaped coin. Thanks again !!!
  14. A siderial day is 23 hours, 56 minutes, 4 seconds while a solar day is 24 hours long.
  15. When we look at objects in space, we are actually looking back in time. The Andromeda Galaxy is 2.5 million light years away from us. If we look at the Andromeda Galaxy through a telescope, we are seeing the galaxy as it appeared 2.5 million years ago. It took the light that long to reach us.
  16. The light from the sun takes approximately 8 minutes to reach the Earth. So, when we look at the sun, we are actually seeing it as it appeared 8 minutes earlier.
  17. Not very good at poems, but here goes anyway... Oh how I wish for a turtle. I found one once in some some myrtle. A turtle in the myrtle. In the myrtle was the turtle. Hidden in the leaves, her color was green. She stood there looking, almost like a queen. I decided to call her Jean, Or maybe the name should be Gene. Because girl or boy, I really did not know. When I saw her, I said oh-no, But she must have thought I was her foe, Because she bit me on the toe.
  18. I have a cache hidden in a Pennsylvania Welcome Center/rest area on I-80. Apparently someone must have been digging and made a mess while looking for the cache recently. I received an email from someone at the Welcome Center asking me to modify my cache description. They asked me to put a statement in telling people not to dig in the mulch because it is not required to find the cache. As long as I put that statement in (which I did), they said it's fine to leave the cache on the premises.
  19. My vacation this year is strictly for geocaching. 2 days after my daughter gets out of school in June, we'll be on an Amtrak train from Pennsylvania to Seattle. I plan on making my 1000th find at the last remaining A.P.E. cache in the US... Mission 9: Tunnel of Light. So we'll spend 3 days on a train, 3 days in the Seattle area, then we're headed home the long way... taking a train from Seattle to Sacramento (where hopefully we'll be able to pick up a few caches before our next train), then the California Zephyer back to Chicago, then another train back to Pennsylvania. Hopefully we'll be able to get some caches in Pittsburgh, Chicago and Sacramento where we've got a few hours between trains. Now, if only there were caches hidden near the train stations where longer service stops are made. (I could hop off the train, find the cache and get back on before the train leaves (I did that in Florida a few years ago)).
  20. I'll have to think about what we're going to do. Unless we decide to rent the bikes in Seattle (and a bike rack) and transport everything to the area, we'll probably be walking to the cache. I've got 2 months to think about it. Thanks everybody for the information.
  21. I will be in the Seattle area for 3 days in mid-June and we are planning on doing the APE Cache - Tunnel of Light. Is there a place near the parking/trailhead area that rents bicycles?
  22. Just received my confirmation email... Unfortunately the nickel version was already sold out, but I got the rest of the coins in my order. Can't wait to get them!!
  23. Hi Flper I was looking at the same cache, since I'm going to be in the area on Sunday. I have absolutely no idea how to solve this one. I'm very bad at puzzle caches.
