  1. Thanks a ton for your suggestion. That is the kind of GPSr I have, actually.
  2. I know this i a rather old gpsr but if anyone has one and would like to sell it for arround $50 please post here. Looking for a GPSr for friend, if anyone has a similar unit and would go for arround $50 or cheaper please post. Please have mercy, extremely low income level.
  3. Hey dude: I am actually in the market for this exact model as I need another gps to go caching with. However, I think 75 is a little much, as i can get a brand new, never before used, flawless with original packaging for just 25 dollars more. I am willing to go as high as 60, but, I don't know... for that much I want the gpsr to be good. THIS IS NOT AN OFFER, just want to see what you would think.
  4. Hi. Welcome to geocaching!!! Although I am realatively new to geocaching, I have a little expierience to report. I am 13 years old, recieved a gps for Christmas 2004 (specifically requested it for Geocaching) and like to geocache with friends. No, we do not urinate in caches on a frequent basis (j/k, never done it, never will) and my team and I have never encountered any expieriences such as the ones you described when caching. We do cache with siblings, most being around the ages of 5 and 6, and we do always check caches before showing and items to them. Really it's just to be official, though, we've never found anything "bad." I would defidently reads through cache logs, description, d/t ratings, maybe email owner, etc, etc before setting off with the little ones, more to check if the physical requirements are within their ability. Our team has found caches that are physically chalenging, so you should check it out. Hope you have fun. Hiker49
  5. I might be interested. What forms of payment would you except? By the way, would it have like a bluetooth chip or similar so that I could surf the web in hotspots? Also, would I be able to return it in case I decided I didn't like it upon arival?
  6. All right everybody, yes, i know, im probably nuts, but if anybody has a used eXplorist 100 or 200 and wants to sell it between $25 and $50 dollars, i might be interested. Keyword is MIGHT, still thinking, but i am trying to maybe get my friend a GPS for Christmas. I would also like a backup for myself, so that when i go geocaching with friends it is not necessary for one of us to miss out on the fun of holding the GPS ALL THE WAY TO THE CACHE!!! It helps eliminate questions similar to are we there yet, only in geocaching terms, "How much farther" every, i dunno, 60 seconds. Take mercy on me, im young, don't got a job (don't blame me for that, they won't let me until i'm sixteen.) If you have one of these models (or a different one for that matter, im not to fussy, especially if you wanted to give me a eXplorist 60 for 15 dollars or a Garmin Legend for 2) and are interested in selling them at these prices, drop me an email at tucsongeocacher@gmail.com and we can negotiate a potential deal. At this point i am not too serious, but depending on the price i just might buy it!
  7. I agree with you 200%. Hopefully this will get one of the all powerful admins (like Jeremy's) attention.

    Team

I am in Tucson. However, I am a 12 year old male and, no offence, but my parents might not be thriled about the idea of me going with you (you know, stranger danger...) Actually, try emailing 2sonians threw geocaching.com. One of them is a female, and they hide really great caches, and I can't remember weather her finds are in the 500's, 600's, or 700's.
  9. If you want to expand it, I would suggest hiding a multi with like two easy steps, and then you can always add more later.

    Hints!

    Almost always without fail
  11. Well, I'll be. Imagine that. A geomuggle in a geocaching family. I wonder why she wouldn't be caught dead geocaching. I'm a little younger, but I've become more popular because of geocaching (not the reason I started though.)
  12. Once you buy a gps there are no other costs to use it other than personal expenses (food, travel, etc.)
  13. Hey, Tahoe Skier5000: Could you please close this thread? It is really no good leaving it open and I keep rereading it because I think you still have them. Thanks in advance!
  14. This is a national park? Must be one I've never heard of. Well, it does not appear that this cache is in a national park, i think he was just asking a question.
  15. Try going geocaching at late night and early morning. Umbrellas sometimes make you look wierd, but that is also a good way to stay cool. Not always, but sometimes the squirtbottles with fans hooked on work too.
  16. I half agree with you, but I would like to point out that these people are smart by looking around and trying to make sure they get the best deal possible. I mean, let's face it, where talking about a heck of a lot of money, I don't care how much value you get in return. Oh, and it might not go over to well with potential buyers if you are calling them a bad audience. By the way, I don't drink beer.
  17. Hmm, no idea, but I'm gonna watch this topic because I'm geting premium membership in a week or so. Would like to add to the question. Does it take longer with a check or money order or does it to do it instantly with credit?
  18. Well, you might say you thought you lost something. Of course, one of the caches I found was hidden underneath a pay phone in an extremly busy parking lot, and my friend had the idea of leaning against the pay phone with his hands behind his back and reaching for the cache once he spotted it.
  19. I think it's a great idea, especially if it's hooked on to a travel bug!
  20. grown-up hide and seek? I'm 12 years old and quite frankly I'm insulted!
  21. you can also use some of the free programs provided on the resourse page off geocaching.com, if you need anything else it looks pretty good, but I use a Magellan eXplorist 200 which does not have a computer hook-up, so I couldn't be sure.
  22. In some cases you can even get a pda that has a built in or room for an expansion GPSr.
  23. Another good tip (although I am also male) that I picked up from the forums is to email some of the cache finders in your area and see if maybe they want to team up. You might not get your choice of gender though.
  24. I am partly in favor of accounts being archived, but really I am more in favor of leaving up accounts. I think the decision should be the owner of that account. I do not think it is a good idea to automatically archive after six months of no logging, or any other period, but possibly if a different user wanted that user name, such as yourself, and that person had not visited the site (you can track that in the profile) in six months there should be a way to get TWO or more administrators to consent.
