  1. Rescue557: That TB is huge, how the heck are you going to hide it in any cache...
  2. Yes, you are psychic... I do have the Legend C and will go with the CitySelect software, thanks for everyone's input. I wasn't sure about the difference and didn't know the the MetroGuide didn't have the Auto Route. Thanks!
  3. Goto Geocaching.com website, select Travel Bugs, then select Activate Travel bug. Here's the link: Activate Travel Bug
  4. Did you select the "Found It" option from the pull-down menu when you "logged your visit"?
  5. I'm looking at getting a MapSource data, but not sure which one is better; CitySelect North America or MetroGuide North America What's the difference between the two and/or which one do you think is better. I've seen the MetroGuide for $75.00 and the CitySelect for $110.00. Thanks for your input!
  6. I just got an order yesterday and they are still the old tags.
  7. I take a look at the first few logs, just to see if there are any recent issues with cache or if there are any TB's left recently, but besides that, I leave the rest alone.
  8. Just be carefully, I bought a cig light adaptor off of ebay and it said that it worked with the Legend C, but when I got and tried it, it wouldn't work. After contacting Garmin and the vendor, the way you can check to see if it's working is that battery indicator will change to a plug icon. The vendor ended up refunding my money, since the adaptor didn't meet the Legend C's specs.
  9. One of my friends, who hasn't been caching for about 9 months is giving me 4 TB that he hasn't had time to put back in circulation. So, if your travel bug went missing in Pennsylvania, it might be one of the ones that he has and he is going to give to me this weekend, so I might be able to get them into caches this weekend or next. Keep your fingers crossed, one of the TB's might just be yours.
  10. If I had the extra money, I would have got the 60cs, but I settled for the Legend C.
  11. I haven't marked the car as a waypoint, yet, but most of my caching has been areas that I'm fimilar with. I have used my tracks log to follow back to the car.
  12. I use a Princeton Tec Headlamp, that has dual led and Streamlight Stinger.
  13. I have the Legend C, as well, and use EasyGPS. When I loaded the software and setup the GPS, it didn't have a selection for the Legend C, so of course I selected the Legend, but the problem is that you can't select the USB port on the Legend setup. I found a way around this; I selected the 60cs and it allows you to check the USB button. Once I did that, I've had no problems sending and receiving data between the Legend C and EastGPS. I hope that it works for you!
  14. Thanks Keystone Approver! Been wondering how to do this, as well. One for home and one for our camp. Thanks!
  15. You can download the manual from the Garmin site, here's the link: eTrex Legend User Manual

    Children

I have two sons, one is 4 y/o and the other is 2 y/o and they both go caching with me. The 2 y/o, sometimes I have to carry in the woods, since he isn't big enough to walk over some fallen trees. My 4 y/o does pretty well in the woods, except for jagger bushes, he typically gets stuck and I have to go and free him. They love the treasure hunt!
  17. I think I might hide a micro near my office in Pune, that way I can check on it once a year or have one of my staff in Pune check on it. Our office is in a new office complex and we own about 10 acres of land in the complex, so it should be easy to find a spot somewhere on the property. I will be in Delhi, Agra and Pune on this trip back to India, so I'm hoping to get a couple of caches while I'm there. Two or Three Vitruals in Delhi and two vitruals in Agra.
  18. I have a Legend C and use the EasyGPS to download both loc and gpx, here's the link: EasyGPS There is an online manual and tutorial for the program.
  19. I got the Garmin case today and used it for a while to get a feel and functionality of the case on a Legend C. The case feels good and I feel better having a protection over my screen, I don't want any scrathes on the screen. In regard to fit, the sides of the case come right up to the Power and Menu buttons and do not block the buttons for use. The screen opening is only slighty smaller and doen't overly obstruct the Legends screen. Overall, it has good protection for the Legend C, feels good in my hand and still lets you have access to all the buttons and screen. I'm going to keep mine, it was only $12. I hope this helps with your decision.
  20. After doing three caches today at a state park that allows hunting on portions of it's land, I definitely thing the orange vest is a good idea. For one, you would be visible to hunters and muggles would just think you are another hunter. My sone and myself had orange for safety, even though the areas that we were caching were in the no hunting area, I didn't want to be mistake for a deer or something else.
  21. I ordered one earlier this week for my Legend C, once I get it in the mail, I'll reply back on how well it works out.
  22. It depends on the type of hike I'm going, if it's short trip, then I use a fanny pack. But, if it's a long trip, then I use a CamelPak Mule lightweight backpack.
  23. That's a great idea! Being a Medic, I always carry a smal first aid kit, but for those who don't, finding a band-aid in a cache after walking through the thorn bushes might be the best cache find yet.
  24. My intention is to give not receive something back of equal value. Since my cache hide will on a 3 / 3 level, then I think the first to finder will like what they find. The larger cache will be hidden off of a not so frequented trail at a state park, there is a great view of a lake from the trail.
  25. Thanks for all the replies, I've decided to place Two Motorola FRS Radios in one cache and a $25.00 Gift Card in another cache, now just have to find a good spot to place them. Here's a picture of my cache containers, so if you see them out there, check for the FTF prizes. Thanks!
