  1. well fortunitly, i'm not loosing a lot of money on swag. just same signiture guitar picks, and acouple foreign coins, but then again i put them out to be taken, hmm it's not that they are taken, just how theyu are being taken
  2. ok let me clarify, there is a little umm platform thingy where there will be the occasional rally or ceremony (the park is located in downtown, next to courthouse) but there aren't a lot of public events there, and i placed it there for several reasons, #1 it's a beautiful park and part of town, #2 that is the best location in the park, all tables are stone, all lightpoles are the old style, no skirt, all benches are the new plastic cheapo city budget kind #3 It seemed like a area with a low traffic rate. since it fell off the hiding spot once, i'm sure it did again, and got trashed i'll replace it and secure it , and mark it better as a chache, if it gets muggled again, i'll move it. any suggestions on good hiding spots in a park?
  3. and/or it interupts the privacy if those cow tippin' lol
  4. It's snowing in North Plains? Good thing I bailed on the trip to Hillsboro today then... rain in eastern OK & west AR, was swamped with work today, and weather hampered any caching attempt
  5. ok folks here's the situation. i placed a cache last week. it was a green translusent medium sized pill bottle, and i placed it under the foot rest of some outdoor bleachers in a park. it seemed secure at time of placing. first log mentioned it was on the ground and all swag gone. after a few emails back and forth apparently the FTF hasn't logged yet. he went back to check on it today, and it is totally gone, i also had a DNF posted today. i'm gonna replace it in a few weeks. as to securing it would a strap of some kind be a good idea. i found a velcro one that would probably work. i'm ordering some cache lables from Groundspeak.
  6. hmm, i've not had any trackables taken, but a recently placed cache was raided, the FTF emailed me that all contents had been removed prior to his finding. but i can't make them premium caches, since i've not shelled out the money for a premium membership
  7. You can get away with almost anything, if you carry a clipboard with you. A hardhat or reflective vest can help, too. Just walk right up to the LP, act like you're looking up something on the clipboard, maybe flip through a few pages. Grab the cache as you appear to be looking for a serial number under the skirt, and scribble down something on the clipboard (at this point, no one is paying any attention to you). Sign cache, replace an leave. If you drive a truck or SUV, you can totally sell it by illegally parking, putting your flashers on, and setting out a traffic cone or two. great idea!

    FTF?

I may be clueless, but you are unresonable. I like to make sure I'm not breaking any rules or causing any trouble. I want to make sure I know what I'm doing before I try to do it. It's like baking a cake. You need all the steps and ingredients in order for it to turn out good. That's what I want. A good cake. Go ahead. Call me a troll one more time. It doesn't stop me from getting answers if other people are actually considerate and care about what I need to know. I appriciate everyone's answers. Hey kid, keep your head up! and good luck on the fun. don't pay any attention to the grumpy old people, i've posted some DUH questions myself. i echo the comment about is it really "finding" if you know where it is, but if you don't ask you don't know.
  9. ok, i've followed thos thread from the begining, and make a comment oer two. and i had a thought occured to me while talking to my girlfriend, about a whole otther subject. earlier somone made reference to the CO and their being in court, and said something about them having time to blow or something (forgive me for not directly quoting cause i didn't feel like weeding back several pages) and the thought occured to me, if the CO is a 'loser' for attending the trial (i'm not calling the CO a loser) then where does that sit the rest of us, who either have been just following or are are outspoken and have picked a side, we have such great busy lives, and important pressing issues in our live that this is where we 'hang out'. come on! and as far as it's concerned, i'm GLAD, HAPPY, REJOICEFUL that the CO was at the trial. i'd attend but i can't justify a 2000 Mile trip for this. and as i don't think Mr. Repack, deserves to lose all, he does deserve some kind of reprocussion. you with children disipline your child in some way when they are taking other children's toys and being ugly to other chinldren and such? right? well come on folks, this guy is an adult and his actions are/were childish. what happens and what ever punishment he receives will be just.
  10. ok, i have one question, what is an arroyo? Similar to a small creek, or gully, dry most of the time, but subject to massive amounts of water flowing during heavy rains. In Oklahoma we call them creeks (even dry) or canyons when they eventually get deep enough. (I know... not on the scale of the Grand, but thats what they are called) We live in a subdivision called Quail Canyon, and it runs two hundred or so feet from our home. I assume they didn't call it Quail Creek because it only sees waterflow after a heavy rain. It is dry most of the time. The "canyon" itself is thirty or so feet deep in places down to maybe ten in places. It carries water from most of the section we live on in rains. ok i got it, thanks for putting it in 'Okie'. since i live off of the beautiful lake eufaula, i can understand what i creek is
  11. i've done this, and lol the other day i was at cache the other day and it was next to a electric meter. i had several muggles pull up at once to do business at the ajoining building. so i started just pressing buttons on the ol' GPSr like i was reading the meter, it seemed to work.

  13. ok, i have one question, what is an arroyo?
  14. Personally, i read all the logs on the caches i look for, and these short abreivated logs drive me crazy. and as a cache owner, i like more, but hey, i can't force someone to place a log that suits me
  15. every one of my found caches was on the clock, i travel weekdays aso i can get a few here and there
  16. remind me, where is the link to the "donate to send bittsen to court as a official GC spokesperson" link?
  17. no i wasn't, i would just type geocaching.com into my mobile browser and it would bring up a mobile version, now it is the full web page
  18. My teamns name is Team CCA. I am a teacher at a boarding academy and CCA is the initials for the academy. I typically have one of the students with me when i find a cache, so it's a joint effort, buit not always with the same person. I have several of them addicted and hopefully they will do some caching of their own when on vacation or such
  19. Ok, i typically only access geocaching.com and the forums via my cell phone, and it was converted to a mobile page. now it is being view as a full web page, i'm not complaining at all, but does anyone know what is going on? is it just my phone, or is it Groundspeak?
  20. I'm impressed that the OP even saw that evil little thing. i didn't know that there was a log in it until i read some other's logs online, and i sent a message to one of the other finders (we've become friends) and asked as to where the log might be, this is probably gonna be my one and only nano, i'm developing a strong hatred towards them
  21. Ok, here's the situation, i sought out a nano, and found it, and unbeknown to me it had a log inside. i sent an email to the CO with what i found and he confirmed that i had found it, and i logged it. but i didn't sign the log, so do i go back and sign log with the date that i found it, or what do i do
  22. Obviously you are kidding. They should be nanos on guardrails. Please stop attempting to spread such vicious rumours. i said magnetic key holders AND LPC's not magnetic key holders ON LPC's, and nanos on guard rails? that's so narrowminded! what is geocaching coming to!
  23. i vote that every one only places magnetic key holders and LPC's lol, just joking
