  1. hmmm, he'd get a beating lol with friends like that why do you need enemies? lol
  2. The USA isn't the only country that does this. I remember traveling through Scandinavia and being able to get around quite nicely, reading signs, menus, etc without a problem because they were all in English. Oh, and what really is going to cripple our country further is the seeming inability of citizens to take enough pride in their English skills to check for spelling, punctuation, and capitalization. Ok sure the joke's on me, i'm sorry that my phone's keyboard is small and i don't take time to capitalize all proper nouns, boy my students would never let me live it down! lol So to make it up to all forum readers, a free round of donuts, bacon, and beer for everyone! IMHO When a country changes for what the seemingly standard is, to cater to others, ok it's fine. BUT (here we go- a can of worms) it makes it so that those who enter the country, by whatever means it seemingly easier for those to not learn the lanuage of the imigrated country. When i go to a foreign country, i either have to learn the lanuage or have a buddy that can. For the most part, other countries don't just cater to me or other foreigners, like the USA.
  3. ever heard of bilingual countries? really, US is the only country? let me give you a hint...is the Great White North, and no, we don't live in igloos..but have two official languages, English and French ok, thanks for the info, i didn't realize that, wow , does it ever get confusing?
  4. Do you even know what a "dead drop" is? Any cop who was aggressive at someone doing a dead drop would likely get fired. The rest of the comment seems a little paranoid. I assure you that police are human beings. Any cop who would write you a ticket for putting swag in a cache is likely going to write you a ticket for anything he can. That's NOT a good cop. ok, now i have to ask, what is a dead drop http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_drop It's remarkably similar to geocaching, wouldn't you agree? yes i agree, very interesting article
  5. ok ok point taken, BUT what about the language situation going into another country, When i went to Costa Rica, very few menus and signs were in english, why is the USA the only country that does this? PC? All it does is cripples our country futher.

  7. as a side question, is english th official language of the USA, if so then why does everyplace (seemingly) have their menus also in spanish. am i the only one seeing this
  8. i just sent my girl friend some pink roses, and i just ate donut& a bacon cheese biscut
  9. i found a homemade crack pipe next to a cache yesterday, as to it being naughty, well..... no i didn't use it, it got pitched
  10. Yeah, I've never worn them belly dancing either. a dragon belly dancing :blink
  11. this has got to be the exception not the rule, it is cool none the less
  12. Nuke a Gay Whale For Jesus wooden nickle? i'd like to place an order. seriously
  13. If you can't handle disagreement, that's unfortunate, but telling others to leave the forum because you don't like what they have to say is, quite frankly, appalling. You are the one that keeps bringing up that caching should be fun and light. If you deem something to not be "Fun" or "Light", you get to CITO it (this is by your own admission).. Since your presence is causing my "Fun" to diminish, wouldn't it be appropriate for the self-appointed swag cop to CITO themselves from the discussion? ok time for this to stop, you are getting personal and it is very cheeky! up till the personal garbage slinging i was agreeing with you. puke on this
  14. And if someone's actually left it as a trade, that's even worse. yes i totally agree, how can it be an even trade? unless it was like what i found last week- a used spark plug- lol. you are right
  15. As far as I know, travel bugs aren't subject to rules about agendas the way geocaches are. I haven't suggested that anyone remove these game pieces from caches and I strongly resent your implication that I have said anything like this. I don't have any problem with people disagreeing with me, but strawman arguments have no place in a civilized discussion. Besides, the diabetes travel bugs are directly affiliated with Groundspeak. Similarly, the Jeep tbs. narcissa, i apologize, i wasn't implicating that. my bad my point isn't clear which is my fault. i believe the OP was about religious material (which promote an agenda) so where is the line drawn? some items in a cache are going to be promoting an agenda, while i.have no issue agendas being promoted, i dislike inconsistancy. promoting an agenda is still promoting an agenda, whether it is religious, political, charitable, or otherwise. and the issue is about swag not caches
  16. A donut biting a pony would be something to see... ... but only if it were made of bacon. The pony or the donut? I'm getting SO confused. STEP RIGHT UP!!!! GET YOUR TICKETS!!!!! POPCORN, GET YOUR POPCORN!!!!!!! Is that pony-flavored popcorn, donut-flavored popcorn, or beer-flavored popcorn? Inquiring minds want to know! lean close (whisper: i have all three burt only for platinum members. shhhh!)

  18. 1- Trackable items do not follow the same agenda guidelines that caches do. 2- Narcissa wasn't talking about trackables. She's talking about caches. These two things don't change if you agree with her or not. ok true BUT it was placed in a cache! and there by the cache was used to promote an agenda- no difference than the 'tract' mentioned by the OP There's a huge difference. You can't compare trackables to swag in terms of agenda or lack of agenda. That's like comparing apples to aardvarks. but they are both promoting an agenda- in a cache. there is no consistancy here, just personal agenda. for what it's worth, i'm not trying to go against her or anyone i just am doing the same thing i do with my students- pointing out inconsistancies
  19. I'm not arguing against religion, I'm arguing against using a geocache to promote a religious, political, charitable, or commercial agenda. Your continued characterization of my argument as a statement against religion itself is simply incorrect. It's unfortunate that you insist on seeing it that way. ok what about the travel bug i found the other day that was dedicated to diabeties awareness? should i have just thrown it out because it promotes a charitable agenda? your logic is warped 1- Trackable items do not follow the same agenda guidelines that caches do. 2- Narcissa wasn't talking about trackables. 21. "my issue isn't that it's religious material, but the kind of religious material. Like I said before, I wouldn't be offended to find a rosary or a magic wand, but its the stuff that tells you you're going to wherever or you need to find god/allah/buddha/bob the talking frog." ok point taken, but one question where does the line get drawn, some ppl will take offence to a rosary, where they deem a tract ok. Isn't saying that some religious material is ok and some isn't, doesn't that create a double standard. if you don't want them in your cache fine i won't leave any more in your
  22. what was it that was offensive? the actual 'tract', or the message it contained. If the message or 'tract' is not inapropriate then pitch it and go on
  23. Nothing new but what if the skirt is Plastic as many of them are in our area. SS not only has that be thought about, it is metal and has been placed and submitted today
  24. IMHO that's what i have here, it's a neat little spot and this as close as i can get without being on private property,
  25. Would the seekers still be brought to a 500 acre, sweltering, exhaust laden, big box store parking lot bristling with SUVs driven by soccer moms? Why would you want to bring someone to such a blighted location? actually no, it's a unique pole with a metal skirt, and it's behind a office complex with a pretty view of a pond
