  1. I'm glad you like them. I had four XXLE coins and, so far, I have sold three of them. I will be selling the fourth soon, perhaps as early as this weekend.
  2. No reservations this time. They will be for sale at my shop very soon and I will post as soon as I have them entered.
  3. The coins arrived today, which is much earlier than I had expected and I am exceptionally pleased with them. I'm going to try to make these available as soon as possible, but in the meantime, here are some pictures of what I found when I opened the boxes. In recognition of the cointest participants, the first two packages sent out will be to them so they will have them in their hands as early as possible. This is the "Secrets of the Night" edition. It is hard enamel on antique 18 karat antique gold. This is the "Forge Fire" edition. It is finished with glass on the rune side and with hard enamel on the English side. The metal is 18 karat antique gold. "Mithril Sheen" edition - glass on the rune side and hard enamel on the English side. The metal is satin nickel. "Nahhash" edition - bare solid copper. Nahhash is the Dwarvish word for copper. Below are a few more pictures showing details and the final small picture is the icon.
  4. Fisch03, Thanks for the entry and welcome to the group! You are going to be very happy that you learned how to use the paint software. You will be able to take a lot of the ideas in your head and put them onto paper in a way that looks professional.
  5. I received word today that the coins are on their way! I expect to be selling them early next week and perhaps sooner.
  6. Oh, yeah, that just happened to me to from an eplace seller. Wonder if it's the same one? Couldn't really figure out why they cut the flips in half. This shouldn't upset you too much. I say this because those flips are the enemies of your coins. I have checked this in several different places and the flips that come with your coins will destroy them. Vinyl gives off small traces of acidic gas and over time it will corrode your coins. All coins that you buy and want to keep for any length of time should be moved to mylar flips (one brand is called Saflips) or some other form of safe storage. That being said, cutting flips in half is a very bad sales/promotional technique. Even if it saves on postage, it will upset customers and overall hurt sales.
  7. There are three great submissions so far, but I would love to see more. Please keep them coming in! The cointest will go until this coming Friday (November 4) at midnight Eastern time.
  8. Ooooohhhh that looks nice! I can't wait to own one . . . or a few.
  9. I don't do presales myself, because I feel much better about the process knowing that I have the coins in hand before asking for money. That being said, it really has not been that long since the presale ended. Minting coins can include unexpected delays, so I would just say to be patient a while longer.
  10. In post #55, click on the following link Glitter colors second set Scroll all the way to the bottom and look at the last two colors. Those might be sort of what you are looking for, but nothing is going to come even close to the beauty of real rainbow moonstones.
  11. The Sea of Clouds, Lake of Dreams, and Sea of Nectar can now all be found at my web store. The link is below. New Dawning Hope Geocoins
  12. You can count me in too for more than one.
  13. Not a problem. Smart people skim when they read and sometimes miss things.
  14. You're right. The Cataclysm version made it abundantly clear to me that people like glow colors. One more thing, I am always amazed at how people can come up with ideas that would never occur to me. If the rest of the submissions are this good, I may end up going with several winners and several new editions.
  15. The blue moon is a great idea. One small problem, there is no c17 or A169 on the glass color chart. If I were to match colors based on your descriptions, I would say C213, C214, or C250 for the seas The closest match for the land would be B453, B470, B450, C720, C719, or A 464. Unfortunately, I have the advantage of having the actual color samples. Sometimes they look very different in real life than they do in the pictures.
  16. It's time for a cointest! I am getting low on my Luna stock and the Cataclysm edition is almost sold out. I didn't expect that one to sell as well as it did. What this means is that I am getting ready to do a remint and I would like to get input for a new edition. This cointest will be like the one that I ran for the Dwarven Treasure coin. I will be posting an uncolored template and I would like you to fill in the colors. Please be creative in your choices! In addition to the colors, please provide a name for the edition. If you would like, a description of why you chose that name and how it goes with the color scheme will be appreciated. The sky is the limit for which colors can be used. I encourage people to use regular hard enamel, transparent, glass, glitter, glow, and pearl. In addition to the template, I am providing links to the color charts. Only the one side can be colored; the other side will be just the metal plating that you choose. Here are the requirements for submissions: - Entries must be posted to this thread with a picture showing what the final coin will look like along with the number description for each color and the plating to be used - Only one submission each 24 hours - See Dwarven Treasure cointest for examples of submissions starting at post #32 cointest examples - Metal plating can be single or 2-tone - Only the side with the labels will be colored with enamel. The topographic side will be just metal plating - Solid copper is a valid metal choice - The winner will receive a free coin Here is the template Here are links to the color charts Regular colors should include a RGB or Pantone designation. If you don't know what that means, I will explain. Pearl Colors Transparent Colors Glow Colors Glitter colors first set Glitter colors second set Glass color chart The most important rule is: Have Fun!!
  17. There is a picture in post #129, or in other words, look sixteen posts up. This coin is gold on solid copper and seemed to click with people.
  18. The new Dawning hope coins are in! They were supposed to be for Geocoinfest 2011, but better late than never. Up until now, the Dawning Hope coins have not had any glass editions, but that has now been rectified with the Sea of Clouds and the Lake of Dreams. In addition to the two glass finishes there is also a 2011 remint of one of my most popular coins: the Sea of Nectar edition. The Sea of Clouds is meant to give the impression of looking through a thick bank of clouds. All of the colors on the star side (white and yellow) are pearl (swirl) enamel. In addition to the swirly colors, the enamel is translucent so that the smaller stars can be vaguely seen through the foggy white. All four of the colors on the flower side are actually glass, meaning that this enamel will resist, scratches, chemicals, and the ravages of time. If taken care of, the glass will look the same in 1000 years. The same cannot be said for epoxy enamel. The Sea of Clouds is a feature on the southwest quadrant of the moon between the Tycho and Copernicus craters and next to the Ocean of Storms. The Lake of Dreams is meant to give the impression of finding an oasis of beauty on a dark night. Most of the coin is finished in 18 karat gold and black nickel, but the plant background and the flowers are finished in green and purple glass. The Lake of Dreams is another feature on the moon found just to the North East of the Sea of Serenity. The third coin in this order is the 2011 edition of the Sea of Nectar. The popularity of this gold and solid copper coin demanded a remint. I also went to the added expense to have a new die made showing that all of these coins were made in 2011. I should have the coins for sale at my web store in the next day or two. I will also be sending out invoices for reservations very soon.
  19. These coins are now for sale on my web site for $5 each. At this price, I would request that 50% be placed into caches. This is not a rule that I will enforce, but just a request so that the coins will travel and keep caching fun. The coins can be found at this link: Low cost coins - perfect for caches
  20. I'll move proxies if I find them, but make more of an effort to meet any mission and tell a story if it's a replacement for a coin that went 'missing' rather than the 'I'm not sending out a real coin...' proxy. As promised, I am now selling coins on my website for $5 each. At this price, these coins are intended to be put into caches. These cache coins can be found at this link: Low cost coins - perfect for caches
  21. I really don't undertand why people have a problem with proxies. I sure wouldn't spend $20 or so for a coin and send it out to travel only to be stolen by some creep. I have moved many of these proxies, which I would rather move than a dog tag with nothing attached to it. But to each their own I guess. Because the finder is denied getting to hold it, admire the detail and workmanship of the coin. not possible with paper. I'm going to put my money where my mouth is. I still have a number of South Carolina coins and even though I am not wealthy (the economy has hurt nearly all of us) I am going to sell them at a loss in order to promote putting coins in caches. All three versions will be on sale for $5 each, but I will set a limit of five coins per household. These are really nice coins: one version is 18 karat gold on black nickel and one version is real silica glass fused onto pure copper. I understand that some of these coins might be kept for collections or for trading, but I ask that 50% of all coins that you buy, you put into caches. This is not a rule that I will enforce, but a request to all of you to help keep the sport fun. I'll try to get these coins on sale at my store some time in the next 12 hours.
  22. Thanks for the feedback. I make every effort to get them out quickly, but it looks like you were lucky that customs ignored them. On the other hand, it may be that I am sending out enough coins that customs is getting to know my packages. I especially send a lot to Britain and Germany.
  23. For those who prefer to buy from a web store, the Luna coins have been added and are now for sale. Luna Coins
  24. Here is the first picture of what is being produced. This is the "Secrets of the Night" edition, which I had planned on making a limited edition, but after seeing this picture, I just can't limit it.
  25. Thanks for saying so. I'm really happy with it, but that doesn't necessarily mean that others will agree with me.
