  1. I think it's a great design and as for the color my money is on "Dirty"
  2. Wish you all a Merry Christmas and hope Santa brings you all the newest in Geocaching gear.
  3. Introducing Sir Lurksalot don't usually say much just lurk around
  4. I saw the episode last night...interesting story...I am just concerned that things like this will give some nut an idea and then ruin Geocaching as a hobby. I'm not sure that shows like that are good for Geocaching. And welcome back! Too bad they highlighted the illegal burried cache. don't expect any like this to be listed by me
  5. thanks Bill for the neat avitar hope you don't mind
  6. CITO Event page is listed GCN8BC Now keep an eye open for the trouble makers to find the correct coords for it. Bill ??
  7. If it's gone long enough (a few months) I post an SBA. I sometimes do this without even wasting my time visiting the cache site. There are plenty of listings out there that were placed by people who geocached for a week, or a month, or even a year that are now orphans. Visit one of those cache pages and look for the bitty link that says "caches found by this user" and click on it. Most often you'll see a pattern of caching that ends abrubtly some time in the past. These missing and disabled caches litter the virtual landscape and need to be dealt with. One thing to keep in mind is that DNFs are not seen by the reviewers - only SBAs are. A cache can accumulate DNFs forever. You have to post the SBA for Krypton or Hemlock (or whomever) to get involved. If it's gone missing for months I see no reason why they shouldn't be. It just doesn't - or shouldn't - take that long for an owner to go out and find out if their cache is ok and either fix it or post a note to the cache page. KUDOS to Walruz for this suggestion Hemlock and I try to run a PQ on disabled caches and get them taken care of but this way is sometimes met with hostile responses from active cachers that have been to lazy to visit their caches and they don't like being reminded by reviewers. Some times the caching community has a better effect on this situation.
  8. I have recieved a submittion for the CITO Event for the CVC. It will be April 16, 2005 from 9am until 11am when pictures and if any press interviews will take place. at noon there will be Pizza, sodas and a few laughs. My problem listing this is there is no location so lets get together and find a creek, park or bike trail to clean up and get this finalized very soon so it can listed within the 2 weeks required for events. If I can be of any help please email me at Krypton@geocachingadmin.com Mark your calendars 4-16-2005 9am CITO CVC
  9. What the noble Bill said but this should be kept up on a regular basis. BTW those of you that know me, lets keep Bill in the dark for a while. Hope to be there early but don't have any hides to maintain
  10. That's an easy one! All you have to do is have a 14 year old(Z) who needs to cache 24/7! I do my best to restrain him at times but when no one else in Stockton is caching you can get a lot of FTF's. Wait till the weather warms up & everyone is out to be FTF! That's when the fun really starts. We missed a really good one down in Ripon a few weeks back but just so happens we were not able to make a run at that one.National Treasure-Ripon We'll have to get down there soon to do it as the reviews are excellent! We once went out at 3am to be FTF on a LOTR's cache in Elk Grove Cache of the Rings & it was worth it! Thing of it is, you have to be ready & willing to go at anytime. If it's within 30 miles, you can be sure we are thinking about it! Lastly, I'm lucky I live so close to Tek, he doesn't even realise it! As for putting caches out, we're working on it. We have some ready to go, just need to find good places for them. So, I guess my question is (remember I'm new at this): How do I find out about a new cache as soon as it's posted. Do I just search every 15 minutes day and night? Yes just keep checking as I quite often get insomnia and may be up at any hour day or night. Welcome to the CVC and to geocaching. If I can be of any help RUN FAST Krypton
  11. When we did those caches, we questioned their placement. I guess nothing was ever done about it. That park is probably best left cacheless. It has too strict of off trail use rules. --Marky I have been working withthe ranger involved and when we get a resolution will post here to let you know the outcome. Krypton
  12. Want to say Happy Holidays to everyone. Hope you get all the GEEK toys you want and can use to satisfy your addiction (hobby) during the upcomming year. May your caching experiences be greater and more enjoyable. Stay safe and play fair. Krypton NorCal Volunteer Reviewer
