  1. These are my 2 which have gone the longest without being found. http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC47CQE_dont-eat-me-im-poisonous?guid=e85384ab-52a6-447b-bd87-c951181e79f0 http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC444XN_youre-gonna-get-wet?guid=0f772cfb-71ea-4525-b88b-04e7f987f24b
  2. Some old foundations just off the trail today while hiding caches.
  3. Hid a cache and found this flower next to it while the GPS was averaging the coordinates.
  4. These are from a cache in South Fallsburg, NY called "Tunnel Vision". http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC317T5_tunnel-vision?guid=04ec1660-1133-47de-a8b4-c5c8d57aee33 Tunnel Entrance Ice flow near tunnel entrance
  5. These two stones are in a cemetery in Delhi, NY. I thought they looked pretty cool, so I took a picture.
  6. Here's one of my wife and son finding a cache on the way back from Howe's Cavern. http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC2HXMY_asas-grist-mill?guid=c988a8c0-bc97-4ee4-a902-c3fb1f322b9d This is one about a 1/2 hour later after being caught in a sudden squall, while caching. http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC2VME6_superior-cache-and-tb-motel?guid=c1916955-5522-40ba-a390-011edc0ab27b
  7. Has anybody else been out doing spring maintenance? Spring has been a little inconsistent in my area. I disabled 2 on my caches because they were still under a foot on snow, but was comfortable wearing a t shirt when I walked down the trail. Parksville Rail Trail Beaver Adding to Dam Busy Beaver Beaver Dinner Table
  8. The trackable wouldn't fit, so I wrote the tracking number on a piece of paper and stuffed that into the cache.
  9. I have a cache on an island that is reachable by kayak or wading. There is nothing wrong with it. Just make sure you mention it (and the longer drier option) in your description. Also there are attributes for wading and boating. Here is a link to my cache. You're going to get wet: http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC444XN_youre-gonna-get-wet?guid=0f772cfb-71ea-4525-b88b-04e7f987f24b
  10. Cheating at geocaching is as effective as cheating at solitare.
  11. I don't make mine premium because I live in a rural area and only get a few finds a year as it is.
  12. This is a waterfall on Russel Brook Rd in Roscoe, NY. It is on NY State wild forest land. I have a few caches hidden near it. Camping is allowed at marked locations on the property.
  13. If you are looking for some examples of cache container diversity, try this thread. http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=62421
  14. Unfortunatly that does happen. If you haven't already try reading Snoogans' Tb Longevity Clinic http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=64691. This gives several helpful suggestions on keeping the TBs out there. One of them is to lose the "cute animals".
  15. Pity them, for they are sad inside.
  16. You probably have experience backpacking, but just throwing this out there for safety. Make sure you have a way to navigate back from the cache, in case the battery in your phone dies. A map of the area and a compass is a good thing to bring with you.
  17. I had the same situation. I dropped the nano lid and lost it in the grass. Offered to replace it and the CO also declined.
  18. I trade flies frequently. I do agree with the above post that an effort needs to be made to cover the hook points.
  19. Other then resizing and adding the numbers these are the original pictures. Not sure what you mean by "subliminals".
  20. I edited the pictures to make the number a little easier to see.
  21. Yeah, I couldn't either. I just set mine up yesterday and it was working, so the site is probably just down temporarily.
  22. I just hid a cache where the final coordinates are hidden in a series of pictures. I can see and find the numbers, but I know what the numbers are and where they are hidden. Should I increase the contrast with the picture in the background or leave them as they are? http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC5B758_mud-pond-mystery-cache
  23. Thanks, that helped a lot. I think the problem is resolved.
  24. I am trying to place a mystery cache where the coordinates are hidden in pictures of the areas. I used HTML code and hosted the images over at photobucket. It is against the guidelines to link to the pictures on photobucket the way I did since it is a commercial site. I used the following code: <a href="http://s26.photobucket.com/user/worstcaster/media/Mud%20Pond%20Mystery%20Cache/porcupinemystery.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c109/worstcaster/Mud%20Pond%20Mystery%20Cache/porcupinemystery.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo porcupinemystery.jpg"/></a> Does anyone know how to disable the link back so the image will display only? I tried uploading directly to ground speak on the cache page but then the picture displays in the page gallery and not directly in the cache description.
  25. If it is in the cache page, I would imagine they do it with HTML. On the logs, if you are the cache owner, you can use an "owner maintenance" log to show you check it. This will also clear a "needs maintenance" icon.
