  1. More like kissing yourself, I should think. Seinfeld had the PC we may be searching for.
  2. no, but one time, i found underwear i was NOT looking for....
  3. absolutely... but in your NM report, explain what swag you'd like to see when you get back to the cache.
  4. sounds like any one of our forum wet blankets could have made that call.
  5. i'm sure they know it is theft.
  6. i have that one happen from time to time since i don't own a phone to log from the field and it is sometimes a few hours before i get settled at the computer to log a find... i've had a few sweep in and spackle their log with smilies about how happy they were to be FTL. every now and then it catches an unsuspecting CO off guard and they mark it their page that the "FTL" was the "FTF"... i suppose if ever they get the logbook and read the first page, there'll be some 'splaining to do. i don't know that i'd bother to correct anyone on the FTF for the OP. if the person who was second is that much a hound that his wittle heart is breaking over the issue, give him the FTF... then offer to drive all your next 10 hides by his house so he can sign the logs first.
  7. i'm sure it is too. geocachers are known to take the most direct route to a cache, and some are even known to interrupt a funeral to see if a cache is in the casket. They didn't go to the casket, but some geocachers did have an impact at a funeral: GCQBNG "Someone at former Dunedin Mayor John Doglione's funeral saw the couple and called authorities. Enter the bomb squad." that's sweet! i clicked the link and expected to see some fun little log by someone with a tagname i've never seen before... and yet no, i see a herd of folks from my area over there as the last ones to log it. looks as though they should get read the riot act for their insensitivity.
  8. Yep there's a nearby LPC rated 4.5/1 "This is a pretty easy cache but I decided to up the overall difficulty level because of the many muggles that could be around." know how to handle that one as a finder? walk up in broad daylight with however many customers that may be coming and going and do it without thought as to being caught. if the cache is muggled, let the CO worry about replacing it. those sorts that are placed in high muggle areas are nuissances. i think you end up drawing more attention to yourself by standing around pretending to use your GPS like a phone.
  9. Not really forever...only until I get there and add them all to my binder!! Bwahaha... +1 A lot of people like to collect sig items! ...and there seems to be a robust number of geocachers who like to collect traveling geocoins too.
  10. i'm sure it is too. geocachers are known to take the most direct route to a cache, and some are even known to interrupt a funeral to see if a cache is in the casket.
  11. you goober! the floorboard is where i keep my swag stash (flashlights, compasses, etc.). the bigger items are left in the trunk... but the small stuff is sitting there in a bag on the floorboard.
  12. a recent trail release here has given me all the taste i need of "power trails". i don't like them. i don't care that they are out there and people like doing them, but i don't really care for the repetitiveness of it all. maybe it would be different if i wasn't the one doing the driving, but the two different trails i tried were very tedious. it certainly didn't seem like geocaching after a while.
  13. or the reverse.... something that requires a good 30 minutes of bushwhacking through a ravine and up a tree... rated a 1.5 on terrain.
  14. two options: adopt. you are cleared then. leave them active, if the call for NM or NA comes up, archive. we recently had someone move away from the area. they had a really good cache and location, ammo box, didn't show signs of damage and has been there about 5 years. they just recently moved away and decided to archive it immediately. my son and i found it the week before they archived it. it was unharmed and not going to be found by a wayward muggle. it likely would have lasted a few more years at least. archive should not be the first alternative in this situation at all.
  15. Its actually a "village" Population 600 yeah, its pretty small. We have a gas station... that's about it. ....and two geocachers. one seems to be a hider... the other seems to be the finder.
  16. that's just plain scary. my email seems to be linked tightly with an ex-girlfriend who ran a blog and was a basic nutjob.
  17. click on your name on the upper end of the screen at any of the non-forum screens. scroll down the right side it'll have a section there.
  18. i'm not sure this thread has enough moderator participation. to quote chris walken... "i got a feva... and the only prescription is... more moderator!"
  19. she was probably out there to steal the caches... or the geocoins... or both!
