I was wondering if there is a way to get archived caches into a gpx?

This works great. I now have the 24k map of the county I live in and uploaded it to my gps. The detail is unbelieveable. Now I need to know how to get the .img file into a format so mapsource will load the map. When you load the map it wipes out all of the other maps in the gps. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get these maps into mapsource or is there a work around to be able to load the maps into the gps without deleting the other maps already loaded? Thanx

I do not have an Avatar but would like a really cool one. Any suggestions? I have envisioned the West Virginia outline with the geocaching colors in it with a Hillbilly in the middle but I do not know how to go about drawing it. Or some different twist on the Hillbilly. Any thoughts?

Sort of a follow up to the earlier question. I tried the Google Map url posted on page four. When Google Map comes up in the field at the top there is %lat, %lon. It seems that the smart tags are not working. Could this be possiblr?

I found this posted in another forum but it does not seem to work. Unfortunately it was closed for some reason. Everything looks fine but I get an error that says the PID needs to be in the two capital letter followed by four number format. But that what the code format is. Any thoughts? I have mine set to prompt for on or off road. I was wondering if I need to change the lock to road, off when I switch to off road routing? Here is what I was wondering if I route to a cache using on road navigation, and the lock to road switch on. Then when I get to a parking area I recalculate and use the off road option, do I need to switch the lock to road switch off? In the off road mode will the GPSr still try to lock my position to the nearest road? If so can I turn CS off and use TOPO so the lock to road switch will not work or will the GPSr lock to road still work in TOPO? Sorry....the question sounds fuzzy even to me now. Thanx again

I have a GPSMAP 60CS with CS and TOPO loaded and have a question about the locking to road function. If I use the follow road routing I can see where the lock to road comes in handy. If I use off road routing do I need to turn off the lock? Or if I turn off the CS maps and use TOPO does this essentially negate the lock? Just wondering...it involves a lot of extra key strokes to turn the road lock off when I go from follow road to off road caching. I am lazy and would like to know if I can skip this step. Thanx,

I have a Garmin GPSMAP 60CS and live in southern West Virginia. I have never been able to pick up more than one WAAS bird. Is it possible to have two hooked up here? Thanx for your comments.

I have a Garmin GPSMAP 60cs an I installed the latest firmware 3.80. Now it seems that the compass does not work properly. I calibrated it and it will be fine for a little while then all of the sudden it acts like it jumps or something. It has done it for about a week now. It also seems to spin around erraticly....(sorry for the spelling). Another wierd thing that happens is when on the compass page it tells me to hold level all of the time. When the message does disappear the GPSr is pointing slightly down. Anyone else have a compass problem? Thanx

Is there a way to print a topic which has multiple pages? I have been following a couple of threads which are very long....16 pages. When I go to print topic I get switched to a print view which only has the first page of responses. When I go to the last page and try to print topic it takes me back to the first page print view. thanx for the help.

I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to load all of the topo usa software on the computer, like you can load all of city select, so I do not have to keep feeding my computer cds. thanx

I just registered the waypoint manager that came with my 60cs and upgraded the firmware. I also signed up for the email notifications. Today I got a email that there is a new version of mapsource 6.5. I was wondering which mapsource software is the update for topo, city select, waypoint manager? Is there a piece of software just called mapsource? Also, something else came up while upgrading the firmware on the 60cs. On the right of the screen was a message that said that updating firmware would erase the poi installed, and had a file to download to reinstall the poi. I downloaded it and installed it on my computer, it is marine poi recovery program. Should I use it on my gpsr? It is really easy to find updates on the Garmin website but the information about the update and where it should be used is lacking. Can someone guide me through the process of getting the most uptodate system possible. I have a GPSMap60cs and the waypoint manager that came with it. I have also ordered topo usa software (which should be in today) and city select v6 (hopefully should be here week). Thanks for any help
