  1. Are you still open for tag alongs on this outing? Sure...we will figure out what time to meet and post here. Where are you coming from? Due to schedule conflicts we are going Friday eve instead of Thursday...plus Thursday is a work night and it'll be a long night....will post meeting time later this week. I can still make it on Friday. I will be coming from the Spring Valley (La Presa) area. We're meeting at the suggested parking area Friday eve at 8:30 pm...off Cannon Road. I will be there. Any changes let me know. 619318-1469

  4. If anyone is planning to look for these caches tomorrow, please note that Team Reid and Team Fatman will not be coming. http://forums.Ground...default/sad.gif However Robyn of Team Reid kindly made a plan for the rest of us, so we are going ahead with the trip. We'll meet at GCJNEJ (Sandy Creek Cowboys #3) at 9am. This should be fun!http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/public/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif Sorry I had to bow out I so wanted to be around alot of lady's so could see how Harmon feels. have fun be safe. I am really excited for tomorrow, Don't forget day light savings tonight, so set those cloacks ahead before you go to bed.
  5. I would like to go cacheing this Sunday (6 March 2011), not picky on the area anyone want to go along and teach me some tricks?
  6. Well I have the passenger seat in the jeep open, I could use a navigator.
  7. Not as wild or dangerous as some of the other critters here, but I figured they had to have done something to get locked up, or maybe they where just guarding the cache. (GCQJMH)
  8. Since I have the day off on Monday I think I am going to hit up a few trails around sweet water reservoir, less traffic there when making the grabs. Plus I have a Micro I want to place.
  9. Don't forget there will be a new stud on the trail. I will try not to hog all the attention.
  10. I am looking forward to the 13th sounds like a fun group of people. If nothing else watching a grown man pick flowers will be worth the trip. You talkin' 'bout me? To know me is to love me, just ask Jodi. That's the best Cache Cammo I have ever seen. LOL

  12. Sandy Creek Cowboy caches and La Fantasma de los Cruces. Believe me, no little pile of rocks nor hanging Bison tubes and no strenuous hiking ... more like a graduate course in Geocaching. They are located off of I-8 about forty miles east of downtown San Diego as the crow flies. Some dirt road but well maintained for any vehicle and in the scenic ranch country of San Diego County. For the Sandy Creek Cowboy caches just do numbers 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, and 16. For No. 3 you need a ladder so maybe that's not for you; however, you'll be near it when at La Fantasma. That leaves out three other cowboy caches ... No. 1 is nothing fancy and is a definite uphill hike, No. 9 is pretty ordinary, and No. 13 might not suit your rental vehicle. You'll find a lot to learn about San Diego County history within the cache descriptions. I'll just bet that you can round up a local group for the cowboy caches if you post your intended schedule. Of course I'm biased but do ask around about the cowboy caches. And yes, ... real cowboys ... ranches, horses, roundups, and a whole lot of tall tales t' tell. Yeehaw! Harmon SD Rowdies and Sandy Creek Cowboys There is a group of us going on the 12th of March and Harmon want to ride with Me and FATTBOY? Maybe so, but do I have t' ride in the bed of your truck? No you can ride in FATTBOYS exploer not taking YODA. So that would be the Explorer that got stuck in desert sand, yes? If you folks are ok with taking a Green Horn along I would love to join you on this trek, My Jeep could use the exercise.
  13. Hello all, well I am relatively new to geocacheing. My son and I have been doing it for about a year and a half (with time off for deployments), however I am retired from the Navy and have more time to play with. I hope to meet fellow cachers in the San Diego area, and learn from the masters. My son and I made an attempt at placing a cache which ended miserably do to bad neighbors, but we are collecting items for a small ammo can sized cache this summer. As I am on retirement leave and Job hunting and going to college (online), my days are free so if anyone has time to teach a young pup the tricks drop me an email secretnavy@gmail.com. Thanks and hope to meet you out there. P.S. I have a Travel Bug Decal on my Jeep so keep an eye out for me.
