  1. Thanks a lot! It worked! And ... what surprised me most ... I could go back to the page still open with all my changes, press save, and ... ... two days later it was saved without a problem now. Not being current on web technologies I had anticipated that the site would two days later not know what this was about.
  2. Thanks for the fast reaction! Yes, I placed the most important information into a maintenance note to keep the cache workable. Thank you! Looking forward to the fix .... Frank
  3. I do have the same problem. This is quite annoying. I made many changes, because the forest has changed again and I need to move stages, change descriptions etc. Now I can not save my many changes. Quite annoying for somebody trying to be a good maintainer.
6. Clyde, thanks a lot for the fast and good help. In deed, I only had searched this page here using Ctrl-F of my browser. Therefore I appreciate your additional help on how to more effectively find previous posts on the same topic. Thanks!!!
  7. What Browser is GSAK using when and why? I am trying to avoid Internet Exploder wherever possible. For cache listings offline and online GSAK seems to have guessed my preference and is using Firefox. (I assume that it found somewhere in my operating system configuration of registry that this is my standard browser.) But for the changes from previous display it is using IE. Can I change that, or can you, Clyde, change that? The new display of changes from previous is very nice by the way. It is a brilliant as the rest of this knife. Thanks for this outstanding tool!
  8. I about to buy a mobile phone. I might go with a very inexpensive 75 gramm phone (sorry, don't have ounces ready). Unless ... are there any MIDP written tools out there to support paperless Geocaching on mobile phones?? It would be a shame if I missed the opportunity to maybe use a 90 gramm phone with colour display and be able to without paper and without my Palm V.
  9. Allright, thanks to you all!! I have edited my cache listing to make it a 2. What surprised me was that I was not asked to enter a comment for the change (a change history). For all of you, who referred me to the online cache rating system: Yes, I have used it right at the start because it is perfectly integrated into the edit page. Cannot be better. But as a newcomer I found a way to misunderstand it: >Cache is in plain sight or location is fairly obvious. Yes, it is under a stone, I told everybody it is under a stone and there is only one stone around within 60 meters. So I checked this. And was done because I am allowed to check only one, it is exclusive. >Cache could be in one of several locations. Hunter may have to look for a while. Well, yes, hunter may have to look for a while. >Cache may be very well hidden, may be multi-leg, or may use clues to location. Not sure that I understand the "multi-leg" correctly, but you need to find four banks, each of them carries a sign underneath which lists the next bank as projection (x km, x °). So, well ... maybe yes for this one too. Hmmm. And now??? So I made it a 2 now. Thanks for your responses and advise. This forum seems to work very well. Radler
  10. My first and only hidden cache has Difficulty rating 1. But it might be more a 2? Two things which I think may be non-trivial are: 1. From stage to stage hunters need to use projections instead of absolute coordinates. This does not seem as natural and easy to everbody as I thought. 2. The final is under lots of trees and the readings will likely be way off unless the hunter is very patient and carefull. Now my two questions: 1. From that description, does that sound more like a "2" to you? 2. If it is more a "2", is it good practice to edit the listing and change the rating or should I just do it better next time? Thanks for your advise, Radler
  11. Related Question: If I own the cache the TB was placed into, is it OK to get it out and bring it to some other cache?? Of course I would log a note to the cache and the travel bug log as well.
