OMG! I just laughed outloud!!!

I cant find anything called mapsource on my pc. I am now , for like the 5th time "installing " the disc onto the pc. But if the sd card shows the files why aren't they there? it took like 40 mins to transferre the data last night and now nothing? bizzare

I apoligize for my lack of computer knowledge. Here goes.. I found the topo map on the disc drive in the "my computer " part and then copied those 5 files to the sd card . when I check in the sd card the files are there so I thought it would be as simple as putting the card in the gps and running of into the woods!

I am apparently pretty computer illiterate but have been bumbling my way through PQs and GSAK. Now I am trying to get my topo maps on my Dakota 20. I fumbled around until I figured out to put them on an sd card but they are not showing on my unit. Any suggestions?? I bought the unit online with maps...thinking they would be ON the gps. ho hum, whats a girl to do??

So I bought a Dakota 20 with the canada topo map. I am quite happy with the gps however I was under the impression that the maps would be ON the unit...NOT come WITH it. I am absolutely not computer smart so can anyone help me out here? From my own research and poking around on the pc I think I need to put the topo on a SD card ( guess I'll have to buy one because the one I have is too small) Am I right?? AlsoI am having problems creating a route. I enter were I am going to and from and hit save changes. the it tells me there is an ERROR and routes me back to the geocaching home page....Is this a temporary problem? Thanks in advance for your help!!

I use my car gps all the time! Just download and go! they'll show up under "favorites". Happy caching!

Thank you SOOOO much! I followed the link and "did all that stuff" and now have 500 gc!! Where do I start??lol It's all good if I can remember how to do it over again! Happy caching!

so there are files (gcs) in there but they are not in my gps. I tried the link sent by another person and downloaded a tonne of "stuff", now I just have to figure out what to do with it all. The good (and bad) news is I now have a pocket query of 500 gcs ! LOL Careful what you wish for they say. Thanks to everyone for your help! Very much appreciated!

The same as always, with the usb cord. I've been doing it this way with no problem. Are you using the "Send to GPS" button on each cache page, or are you doing a Pocket Query and loading the caches using GSAK and the Nuvi macro (the vastly preferred method)? Yes i'm using the send to gps button. I don't know how to use "the vastly preferred method", sorry. This has only started on Saturday. I thought I loaded like 20 caches but only the first 4 were there when I went on my merry way on Sunday. I have now deleted everything hoping it was a memory issue, but still nothing.

Soooo, I have spent quite some time downloading geocaches into my nuvi. I check my gps and there are "no matches found". I go back to my pc and download it again...still not there. Message says this file already exists and gives me the option to overwrite it. Whats going on?? I thought maybe my memory was full so I've deleted a whack of maps but still no luck. PULEASE help me!!
