  1. I've contacted Tharandter and Lil Devil directly. Please remember this is a game and report any inappropriate messages that violate the Terms of Use to contact@Waymarking.com. Happy Waymarking!
  2. Maybe you haven't heard that Groundspeak Headquarters is in Seattle? We sell some merchandise like Geocoins, tshirts and other cool stuff. Check out GCK25Band email contact@geocaching.com to make an appointment. Hope to see you soon! And yes, REI also sells Geocaching stuff. There are about 4 or 5 stores around the greater Seattle area. Go to rei.com for details and to find a store.
  3. Your question about the access key and a link to follow up on your requests was because you had emailed contact@geocaching.com or sent a message to us via our Help Center. My colleague responded with the suggestions above. You should have received this response in an email on Friday August 24. The request was closed because we responded and suggested how to resolve it. You can reply to the email to open the request back up if you'd like for further questions. I hope this helps further! I'm glad the supportive caching community could answer your question as well.
  4. Tsegi Mike, I looked into your account and you are Charter member on Waymarking and our admin tool as well. I spoof logged into your account and was able to use Premium features on Waymarking including peer review for new categories and creating a new group (No worries, I didn't change anything). It looks like you are good to go. If you are still having troubles, try clearing your cookies. You can email us at contact@Waymarking.com and I can look into this further.
  5. This has been suggested to Groundspeak before. We currently do not have plans to add this feature as the GPS on the mobile phones are not accurate enough to produce reliable coordinates for placing caches. If you are considering placing a cache, I suggest using your handheld GPS device to obtain and average your coordinates.
  6. We received a few other reports of people having similar issues. Thanks for including which mobile phone you are using and the step by step details. This helps immensely. Our mobile developers are looking into this. Are you still having this issue? If not, is the app connected to the website? Do you have 3G or 4G or wifi access? My 1st suggestion is to close and reopen the app, as this usually re-connects the app to the website. If this doesn't work, try deleting and reinstalling the app. You shouldn't have to pay for the app again as long as you are using the same Google Account. Please let us know further details if this is still an issue so we can research further.
  7. To make it perfect, there should be a way to chose which navigation app to switch to (in my case tomtom for example). The geocaching app "geo bucket" does that, but your app is much better for everything else... Thank you... Aw shucks, thanks! Our developers are aware of this option to choose which app already on other apps and are looking into it.
  8. Ah so you want Turn by turn directions on the street? I'd love to have this on the iPhone app too, but Apple doesn't give developers this as an option within the app. Yes, you can do this on a different navigation app. On the cache details page, scroll to the bottom and select 'View on External Map'. This does go to a separate app. It defaults to the iPhone's Map app, but I believe it has the ability to detect some other navigation apps and would open another one if you have it (not all navigation apps may be detected or automatically opened instead of maps). Then you can still use the turn by turn directions on streets. I hope this helps more.
  9. Rather than leaving the app, how about just entering the additional waypoints within the app? In order to navigate to additional waypoints on the iPhone app, please follow these steps: 1. Go to a cache listing on the iPhone app 2. Select "Navigate to Geocache" 3. Select the flag on the map in the upper right corner. 4. Enter the waypoint details there 5. Select "Done" This will add an additional waypoint. Then you can click on the flag on the map and 'set as target' to navigate to that location (this is a new feature with version 4.5.5). Is this what you wanted to do?
  10. Did you choose to 'save and send log' or did you select 'save and close' button at the top? This only saves the log. Make sure you choose the style as 'post as log' and save and send the log at the bottom. Also, make sure you are online at the bottom left and connected to geocaching.com. Otherwise the log won't be sent. This should update your profile and the cache listing immediately.
  11. This is not a bug because it is not broken. It is a feature request because you suggested to implement a feature the app does not currently have. If you are unhappy with the Geocaching app for Android, please email contact@geocaching.com.
  12. We have a manual at geocaching.com/android/tutorial Yes, when you have wifi or 3G access, you can search on the Geocaching app for caches near you, including the GC code. When you have 3G or wifi access and can connect to geocaching.com, you can save the Pocket Queries or search result lists for offline use. Then when you are not connected to 3G or wifi, you can still view the full cache details and navigate on the map using the built in GPS. Please note this may not be as accurate because the phone usually uses cell towers, wifi locators and the built in GPS receiver to find your location. Once you are offline, you would not be able to connect to geocaching.com so you would not be able to search for caches that are not already saved on the app. Currently, there isn't a way to filter and search within lists of saved caches. This has been suggested previously and we are looking into it. You can sort within offline lists by distance, GC code , title, terrain, difficulty, type and favorite points. There currently isn't a way to search for a specific cache within these lists though.

  14. As posted in related forum threads, we had an unusually high number of hits on our API over the weekend. Our engineering team was aware of it and it is resolved now. Please try logging in again or search nearby geocaches. It should work as expected now. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Happy caching!
  15. This is a bug with our API that was previously reported on the feedback site. Our developers had to fix it separately with the API (completed) and now each app is fixing it within the app, which is why it is taking longer than many other bugs. This is being fixed currently tested with the iPhone app and, pending no issues, should be available with the next release. Thank you for notifying us.
  16. Here's a (hopefully) easy step by step instructions we like to use: Turn on your GPS device On a cache page, click the "Send to GPS" button Plug your GPS device in to the computer Choose DeLorme as your specific device The link will let you know if/when you need to download a plug-in Select either Windows or Mac Click Save, Open the plug-in (.exe) and Run (For Windows or for Mac) Follow the directions to complete the installation process Go back to the cache page, your GPS device should be set up If you have a DeLorme, try clicking the 'Send to GPS' again. The Send to GPS window shows the steps the computer is taking to download it to your GPS. From now on, you should be able to only click 'send to GPS' on a cache page or the GPS icon to the right of the cache on search results lists in order to geocache information directly to your device. If you have any problems with your GPS, contact DeLorme directly. Their number is 1.800.561.5105 If you have any questions about Geocaching, you can email us at Groundspeak at contact@geocaching.com or call 206-302-7721. There are a lot of really helpful knowledgeable people in these forums too! Welcome to the Geocaching Community!
  17. Yes, you can enter additional waypoints. 1. Select a cache from search results 2. Select map icon 3. Select the flag icon 4. Enter the name, any notes, coordinates and select 'create waypoint'. A moderator has moved this thread to the community Q&A Discussions for WP7 forum. Happy holidays!
  18. Completed. Yup, as JesandTodd said, go back to the log screen, select 'drop trackable' and select another Trackable in your inventory to drop or visit. Marking your thread as completed as we already have this feature.
  19. This is currently a bug with Magellan GPS devices and Mac computers. We are aware of the problem and are looking into it. For now, yes, the annoying pop up keeps coming up but the communicator is downloaded successfully. Click cancel and you can still download the cache successfully. Thanks for letting us know.
  20. This has been suggested in User Voice as well. We are looking developing this for all apps. We are considering the battery drain and how we could reduce this. TexasGrill Chef's suggestion of enhancing notifications is also being considered (26418). These are both very development heavy and take longer to implement but we are working on them. Thank you for your suggestions!
  21. This feature request is already in our database. It may take longer as it may include creating a business agreement with the other company that develops the Navigon app. Thanks for your suggestion!
  22. I have just posted a Reviewer Note on the cache page. http://coord.info/GL72E2VE This cache event has been referred to appeals. We review caches on a case-by-case basis and understand this is a grey area. Groundspeak's guidelines (visit link) state caches should not solicit for any purpose. This includes the sentence "Any extra kids gifts will be donated after the event to a local charity." We consider this a slippery slope. If we allow mentions of donating to charity in general, we could allow it for other causes then other not so good causes, so we prefer not to go down this slope at all. Thus, Cache Drone asked to have this sentence removed. Of course, this has no relevance to whether gifts are actually donated to charity. That is fine, we only ask to keep it off the cache page. Cache Drone has agreed to unarchive the event so people can still attend and have a great time. We (Groundspeak and Cache Drone) are asking the cache owner to compromise and edit the listing to remove this sentence. If you have any questions regarding cache guidelines or volunteer reviewers, please email appeals@Groundspeak.com directly. Thank you for continuing this discussion within this forum rather than the cache page.
  23. This isn't a bug as the functionality is still there. In the menu, select Settings. Then in the Map sources section, select satellite. Google Hybrid and Google Satellite are your 2 options there. This will show the satellite and street maps together. If you have any further questions about how to use the app, please email contact@Groundspeak.com and we can help you further. Happy caching!
  24. If you recently purchased a Garmin GPS device, you should have received a 30-day free trial card with the package. Go to http://www.geocaching.com/garmin/freetrial.aspx and click on 'activate your free trial' to enter the code.
