  1. One time as I was stumbling around in some thick brush, I suddenly felt a sharp pain on my calf. I looked down to see several wasps swarming around my foot which was about 1/2 inch from stepping in a wasp nest. I shudder to think what would have happened had I stepped on it.
  2. It looks like the version is 4.2.1- My phone is a 3g, not sure if that makes a difference. The main reason I got this phone was to geocache spontaneously and paperlessly, so for it to not work properly is painful indeed! Especially after this past weekend when we had beautiful weather and I had the itch, but the only place I was going was Africa! Thanks for your kindness in responding to me...
  3. Uh oh- I followed your advice and re-downloaded the application, but it only loaded back up as version 4.1.1- Maybe it's my I tunes account that is the problem? I tried to get help through Apple, but no response yet.. Any other ideas?
  4. Thank you so much! Not that I wouldn't want to visit Africa--------Just not this week!
  5. My I Phone application has worked fine until lately. Last week, when I would press "Navigate to Geocache"- every single geocache would show up as located somewhere off the coast of Africa- 6000 miles away! This week the map shows the geocaches properly, but still states them as being 6000 miles away. I have the latest version of the Groundspeak app, so I am not sure what is going on. Any ideas?
  6. Not long ago I logged my first "first to find" It was very exciting! We had to hike up a trail about 2.5 miles to get to it, so imagine my annoyance when I realized I had forgotten my pen! It was getting dark, and would be to late to hike down and back up again- I had to prove I had been there! It was my first FTF after all! My solution? Put on a coating of the lipstick in my back pocket, and give the log book a big smooch!
  7. I always try to leave something even if I don't take anything. I get more happiness out of coming up with fun and creative things to leave, and then imagining people's reactions to finding the cool things. Tis better to give than to receive, I say!
  8. I was out riding the trails on my mountain bike one day, and came upon an old campfire with lots of trash and debris around . I was excited to spot a red film canister that had great possibilities of being turned into a geo cache container! I stuck it in my bike pack and headed home. Once home, I opened it up to find a strange white powder within. "What is this?" I asked my husband- and he just gave his naive wife a look as it dawned on me what it was............. Good thing cops don't usually pull over and search mountain bikers!!!!
