  1. Can anyone tell me how one adds profile information to theor personal profile. I am referring to the information some people have regarding states visited, Cache statuses like total found, highest found in one day, total found standing on your head :P etc. Some people have some quite extensive info that's pretty cool to have.

    Thanks!

  2. Sorry if this has been answered before but I have searched the forums for information of Geocoin etiquette and procedures and have not really found good answers (seems a bit vague). Just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing with them. I understand that some are not trackable and can be kept and some are trackable (with a 6 character code). I also understand that some have a purpose and should be passed on to that purpose. Can one keep any that do not have a disignated purpose? Can I start just collecting these or is that not acceptable? For example, I just picked up a Minnesota Geocaching Association "Aurora Borealis" coin am not sure if I should keep it or pass it along.

I'm new to the coins and just want to do the right thing.

    Thanks!

  3. Well, I took the plunge and got the non-NT version for my 60CSx and so far it work great. Very smooth. It's nice to have routable maps to navigate by as well as having a great unit to Cache with :)

So, are you happy with the non nt version ? Where did you purchase ?

Oops, sorry, I did not tell you where I got it. I purchased mine from REI. The regular price is more there but I'm a member and used the 20% off coupon they have going right now. For $79 the price was the same at Amazon.

Yes, I have used it several times navigating and the non-NT version seems to be very smooth. I'm very happy with it. I was not so concerned of having all the US on the card at one time. I ended up putting the whole west coast (south of about Idaho down) as well as Illinois and Iowa (because I travel there) and it only took up about 1/3 of a 2GB card. Not bad at all.

  5. I've used City Navigator version 8, non NT, on a Garmin 60Cx for a few years with no complaints or problems.

I just purchased City Navigator 2009, NT and installed some maps on the 60Cx. The first surprise was that map size is actually larger in NT than non NT, at least comparing the 2009 NT version to the older non-NT version 8. I thought the map compression would result in smaller map sizes for equivalent coverage.

I also notice that map refresh appears to be slower. especially when turning. Is it my imagination, or has anyone else noticed this?

Hmmm, I to am wondering what to purchase here. I have a 60CSx and it looks like alot of you think the NT version is slower than the non-NT. I was about to purchase this but am now not sure what version to get. How slow if slower? I assume the slowness is in the map navigation (Panning & Navigating). Is it significant? I talked to Garmin about this and the person I talked to says they have used the NT version on their 60CSx and it works fine.

    Any more suggestions?

  6. I use City Select North America v7 on my 60CS and it routes the roads nicely. I'm not sure if that is different than City Navigator or not though.

Thanks. I just got off the phone with Garmin and they indicated as such. Using the City Nav NT 2009 it should route to roads with turn by turn indications. Looks like it may be the old version of software I am using.

    Thanks!

  7. All, I have an old version of maps (2003) that I got from a friend of mine and tried putting it on my 60CSx. I cannot seem to be able to create a route and have it select the roads (just creates line of sight to waypoints). It seems that this old version does not have this ability. I am wondering if anyone uses the latest versions of City Navigator NT North America and if it is possible to map to roads on it? I am looking at purchasing one if this is possible.

    Thanks!

  8. Hello all, this is my first time to this forum. I currently have a eTrex Legend. I have been driven crazy by loosing coverage under trees etc. I am looking at getting a new unit and was going to get the Garmen 60CSx but I see alot of people recomending the eTrex HCx. I not only use this for Geocaching but also backpacking and travel. I've been comfortable with the eTrex controls but have never used the 60CSx to compare.

What are some of the suggestions/recommendations you folks have on these products?
