  1. I upgraded to the 60CSX and added City Navigator (regular version)and MapSource Topo to the unit. I use the topo for hunting and geocaching and CN for driving.
  2. Unless you have a vehicle mount that will hold the GPS and case, why bother? I have the same case and find no need to cut tiny holes for the buttons. You will more likely to ruin the case trying to cut all those teeny holes.
  3. I had the same problem trying to do it from MapSource. I just went to the Gramin site and was able to download and install it without any issues.
  4. USMC 1979-1983 MOS 0351 E Co, Wpns Plt 2/6 Cam LeJeune, NC Beirut veteran
  5. Yes, the wetter the better. Put one on my GPS and PDA last night, all came out okay. Here is the link to the video; www.shieldzone.com/application.html
  6. Just my order for my 60CSX and Palm 515 in the mail today. Other than reading the directions and tips/tricks, etc I need to know before I put them on?
  7. I used oneo f those cell phone thingies in my other vehicle, an older Nissan pick up. It has a dash cover so I couldn't use a standard mount. Stuck one of those thingies on the trim around the dash and it works great.
  8. I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee and a 60CSX. I use the normal Garmin mount, with the adapter for the 60CSX. The sticky sticker they give you don't hold very well so what I did was take heavy duty velcro and put a piece on the inside of the right side of the dash (side with oil pressure and temp guages) and on the base of the mount. Works perfect. In a day or two I'll take a picture of it.
  9. Edit them, either in mapsource and/or your GPS. All the geocaches I have done or will do are listed this way for the reason you stated. Its easier to remember a name as a cache I want or don't want to do as opposed to trying to remember the GC number.
  10. Well, Topo maps for geocaching since most are located in wooden or off road areas. City Navigator for driving on roads. A car power adapter and rechargable batteries/charger.
  11. My main one comes in every Friday. If I want to do one for a special area, it always comes in too. I'd go back and make sure you are setting it up the proper way.
  12. The C"S" model gives you an electronic compass and an altimeter.
  13. I was just looking for this. I'm thinking about getting it myself, might save me from having to keep a set of reading glasses handy when I'm driving. I want to see how I can mount it or adapt it to the Garmin mount I'm using now. GPSCity has it listed for $27.95.
  14. A map and a compass are only good if you know how to use both of them. Unless you know exactly where you are, having both means nothing. Sure, you may know which direction is best and a compass will keep you on that path, but if you don't have a map you could be heading in to the deepest, nastiest swamp, or to the edge of a miniature grand canyon. If you are going to carry a map and compass, make sure you know how to determine your exact position.
  15. But do I have to do anything other than just peel it off? I don't want to mess it up! Press and peel. If that does not work, I will always say it should have. I bought the same sticker for my vehicle. Pull the one side off and place it against the window. Now rub the other side which will transfer the decal to your window.
  16. Well, I've been bear hunting all week and picking up caches along the way. I'll be deer hunting all next week and will be doing the same. Hunters seeing other people (hunters) walking through the woods doesn't cause trouble, usually. Hunters seeing one, two, three, etc.......people that don't look like hunters walking through the woods might cause dirty looks, name calling, etc. I would not recommend going into the hunting areas, unless it was on a Sunday. There are other caches, other areas to try.
  17. You can't or its not recommended. I wanted to change one of my multi's because part #2 kept coming up missing (either by muggles or critters). The reviewer for my area said it can't be done because some poeple will have already logged it as a multi, then you change it to a regular............ She recommended I archive it and re-do it as a single, however I just removed part #2. Its still a multi.
  18. Yup, used the same adapter with my Legend and it worked perfect.
  19. Um, hopefully you also ordered the USb cable, which will power the unit from your PC.
  20. I got mine the other day, very impressed. Well, actually I ordered the 60Cx and they sent me the 60CSx!!!!
  21. Got an email today from a cache owner stating his cache (near Scranton, PA) was muggled, including our TB "Thor's Journey". Is there anything I need to do, deactivated the TB, etc? We will be creating "Thor's Journey 2" soon.
  22. knowing what you do, and not knowing exactly where you do it, I dont think you should be doing an Artie Johnson impression. On this adventure you should be doing your Seargent Shultz impression.{'I know nothing!!'} ps. I hope you do it in larksville or I'm sunk. LOL........I plead the 5th!!
