  1. Is there a way we / I can apply to Ground Speak , to have them look at the cache in question , and may be remove it for us ...... or is this something a reviewer could look at , seem to be an over sight , which with all the posh modifications which keep happening to the sit , might be worth bringing to the table
  2. first thing the cache is NOT mine ? I visited a locale (ish) cache this week which is sporting a needs maintenance red spanner , * the CO hasn't logged in for years , I.m assuming they no longer play the game * the cache is 100% fine , its dry , its in a good click lock pot , there's lots of room left in the log the NM log was written by a new cacher , thinking it was missing as they were unable to locate the cache . question is - how can the NM spanner be removed
  3. Sorry , I for one am not a fan of the latest offering I'd just got use to the old one , and liked it , I have to start all over again , not happy , why fix something that no broke I'd like to see the previous ( search function ) reinstated
  4. earn't mine yesterday ? but its not showing up on my profile ? when will it be added , as I see others have it on their profiles already Congratulations, you have earned a souvenir!Learn more or View Profile. International Geocaching Day 2018 Happy International Geocaching Day! This special day is celebrated by geocachers worldwide every third Saturday of August. You earned this souvenir by finding a cache or attending an event on August 18, 2018!
  5. Who needs police , we should all be able to log a TB ? you go out ( geocaching ) you find a TB , you log the TB - out , the next cache you find ( big enough ) you drop the TB in , how hard is that .
  6. O.M.G I've never read the wording on the app ..... To me , If I mark on of my TB's / coins as collectable , its here at home with me and not in the game so to speak .
  7. TriciaG I think you have it in a nut shell , If all the above fails , hopeully the next cache to find will pull the TB back in line , I which I'd had / new about the forum when I first started , as I too dropped the wrong Geo Coin in the cache , the only thing I could think to do was drive back and physically walk back to the cache and take out the wrong coin and put in the right one , the one I'd electronically dropped . If you log on a lap top / PC , you can some times type the first letter of the code and if you've typed it ( on that PC ) it may just do a drop down of code's you have typed in before , worth a try
  8. I have Grabbed the odd one or two TB's in the past .... If I have I've all way dropped the said TB back in the cache in which I just found it in , as others have pointed out , this corrects its mileage . I also like at the point in a slightly different way ,,,,, I move TB , ( NOT HOLD ON TO THEM ) and when I can I like to move them on with in two weeks , some times this isn't humanly possible , some times I will move them on the very same day if it meets the TB's mission , and on the odd occasion I have had to grab the TB first , as in my book - " if the TB's in my hands its in my inventory - ready to be dropped off " holding on to TB's , waiting for them to be logged by the currant holder - is how they become lost and forgotten P.s - this is just how I think , I don't expect other to do the same , all I ask is that any TB is logged and moves from cache to cache and not spend months sat in the bottom of a ( Free App ) users pocket give the humble trackable more worth in the game
  9. If a needs maintenance log was left on said ammo can , saying log wet , unable to sign due to the last finder no closing the lid properly would that stop you , placing cache's ? maintenance doesn't have to be the very next day , but it is part of the conditions we all agree to when placing a cache , ( you agree to regularly maintain it ) that now being the physical condition , log book , container and its contents ( the inventory is now covered )
  10. we have to be sensible about this , its not an automatic decision to mark a TB as missing / unknown location , you have to read back through the past logs , to see if its been mentioned , has it been picked up , has any one else written its not in the cache , what 's written in the paper log . this is just an idea , how can we make the game we play better , working around the carnage left by others
  11. L'd like to thing you mentioned in your paper log that you had taken the listed trackable ...... no need for the other seven to worry ....... say what you see , or write ( in the paper log ) what you'e done
  12. Hence the need for a flag , and for cacher's to say what they see , if a TB's not there say so , if this become a theam , mentioned by more than one cacher over a couple of visits , then mark it as missing ? if it does get put back in the game its a bonus , and can be simply log back in at any point
  13. I love DNF's ? as a C.O and I'm not shy to log a DNF , as an honest cacher who can't find what I'm looking for . as a cacher , it may be missing , my DNF log will hopefully sent an alert to the C.O , it might just me having a bad day , or the C.O is a good hider , as If I can't find it how's a muggle going to find it so as a C.O why do I like DNF's as above , have I hiden the cache so It wont get muggled , do I need to take a look at my cache's , is there a problem with it ,
  14. thank you sir , I have found that option , but it not really doing it for me I'd really like to move them , like moving your trackables to your collection , and not in your inventory , just a thought ,
  15. me neither , I do have a phone now , but still like to use my old Garmin back to the question , of marking TB that have been proven to not be in the listed , cache after many visits , not just an hour and one mention , if its not there say its not there , and after a sensible time frame mark it as missing , if its not in the game its ( missing / unknown location ) this doesn't write the trackable off it just shows everyone the state of play
  16. Is it possible to move my archived cache's to the bottom of my list . so all my active cache's are list from the top of the page . I get that I can list them by placed date / last found etc but I'd like to keep them out the way , in an archived folder , is the possible
  17. just a thought .... when was the last time you all checked your inventory's ? or checked on your own TB's to see where they are , are they listed as being in a cache , or held by a free app user who's only cached on the day they found your TB and has never logged in since what did you do , did you mark your TB as missing
  18. It may help all parties C.O's T.O's an TB hunters , if we'd all say what we see , . if there's a TB in the inventory , yet when you get to the cache and its not there ( so its not there ) on the cache page and the TB page too you'll write if the logs wet / full ? even if you don't like TB's this could also be done via a check list which pops up when you go to log the cache , if there's a TB in the inventory , the pop up could ask you , have you , ( picked it up - to move ) ( discovered it ) ( NO TB IN THE CACHE when I visited ) what I like to see is the humble TB is give a greater importance in the game .... like bring back the ( * ) pop up next to TB , to say you have held it for more than two weeks ,( its time for you to move it on get it back in the game for others to move and enjoy ) bring this back and possibly make it show after four weeks . visit logs will not over ride this message .......
  19. there it is , in black and white , but its not happening hence the ( thoughts ) that , some form of FLAG may be useful , to inform others that the inventory in not correct , same as if you were reporting an issue with a cache , wet log , full log , damaged container , hide no longer fits the hint sourly its all part of being a cache owner ,
  20. there are for and agents AUTO marking as missing by HQ , like yes , it would clear up the inventory's of many cache's , esp those where the C.O that seem to longer be play the game and have stopped maintaining their cache's But , this should be done by C.O's as part of their obligation as a cache owner , when they carry out , routine maintenance .
  21. interesting , I didn't think of looking under Geocaching Topics before , I went straight to the Travel Bug section , I too would like to see a greater enforces put on the humble TB . something needs to be done , to support the players , who like to find , log , and move TB's I started a thread in the Travel Bug section ,
