  1. That one was picked up on one of my routes, but didn't have chance to get it. Amusing. As for less than intelligent CO's, I had the fun experience of being caught in middle of seeking a cache placed on gas meters not too long ago. Then had to stick around & explain to officers. Meh.
  2. Uhm? I'm unemployed, throw job offer at me & we can talk currency.. Otherwise... When I began caching, I realized I had alot of things being left in caches. Hot Wheels, kids toys, etc. From then on, I began leaving my old toys in caches. I still have ALOT to go through. Looks like I'm running out of micro-machines finally. Figured, I have no use for those children's toys anymore, would be a hassle, and cost more than worth to ship anywhere. I don't really wanna toss them. Figure some other children can enjoy them as I did when I was their age. And upon checking my own caches, I've noticed the items I left, were gone, nothing was left in their place, but whatever, IDC. I promptly restocked them. I rarely take anything. Only time I recall was probably around cache 100-150? Unfortunately, I was on a long string of caches that day, and had nothing on me at the time. But how much I've left out of the tons of caches before and after, makes up for it right? I notice trash in some caches on occasion, but gets removed while I'm at it, no biggy.
  3. I used to be very cautious about looking weird when geocaching around "muggles", now I head straight in & not worry about them. Generally I'll turn my back on them as to kind of keep to myself what I'm doing. But whatever. I don't not attempt to grab geocaches anymore just because others are around, especially if I don't go out that way very often. Although I hope my actions don't make them curious about what I was up to, until after I leave, then they decide to make the geocache MIA, instead of talking to me when I was there. Over the weekend I was done helping my dad move for the day. One of the parks I came to, I knew right where the cache was planted as soon as I pulled up. On a bench next to some kids playing basketball (when they weren't too busy smoking weed). I was mildly intimidated by this, but screw it, I am an hour+ away from home & haven't been out this way in over 6mo. Took me about 30sec to find where it was at. Sat down with my back towards them, fumbled out the log, signed, then planted it back while still sitting. Then back to my car & off to next cache. Ran into property owner tending her landscaping inquiring about what I was doing. After the geocaching spiel, I insisted she sign log since she was there when I found it.
  4. I've been digging around trying to find these for past few months. I've only came across one, but wanted to see if there was more to make selection from, before purchasing. Not too sure, but seems as if this one is bigger than what I had in mind. PacSafe: Venturesafe 150 http://amzn.to/jXv0fF Don't really need a backpack at the moment, and no outright fanny packs. Something to carry several small-medium size items in. Carry across front of my body. Easy-quick access for them quick stop & go ventures. Free up as much weight as possible out of my pockets to keep from dragging my pants down. Easy to pin against my body in case I want to pick up speed & jog a distance. So any other selections & suggestions, or is this really my only option?
  5. nothing too much more than some scratches, bumps, bruises & poison ivy. I did pick up some kneepads for a little extra protection. Although seems I need them most when I least suspect it. Most of the time I keep a pair of gloves on me, except when I forget to grab them.
  6. Search's weren't pulling up right info I was looking for. Spent about 4 hours sitting in a coffee shop that day before I created this thread. Thanks all! Think I kind of have this figured out, for most part, although still have quite a bit of playing around with GSAK to do.
  7. I had 2 run-ins this past week with officers. First one was. A cache owner thought some gas meters would make for a good place to plant a cache. But I felt uneasy walking up to it. It took me a few moments to spot what didn't fit in, but as soon as I did, owner of the building popped out on me inquiring about what I was doing. Then called police. I explained to her & officers about it. One of the 2 officers that pulled up knew what geocaching was mentioning similar incident happened at a nearby funeral home, then drove off. The other officer was taking it more seriously going by the book & wrote down information. But I removed cache container from location & posted note for owner to retire that cache. Last night after I finished helping my dad move, I geocached all the way home. Since I don't have much reason or opportunity to go out to IN very often. After hitting a cache in a park, I was sitting in car for moment checking where next nearest cache was. Officer pulled up to inquire about it. Since it looked suspicious being out there near midnight. He hadn't heard of it before so I schooled him on it. We had good few laughs. I'm just mildly disappointed I didn't get a cavity search out of it.
  8. Yea, I realized it was loading some waypoints in as favorites as well, under "codes not corresponding to caches". Although it didn't load some in, even those right across the street. Looks like have to play around with it more.
  9. OK I kind of figured it out, but it didn't really work like what I had in mind... It loads some into favorites, but some of the codes don't correspond to any caches. It does load into POI, but that doesn't display them as visibly on map without greatly zooming in. Loading them in like was doing would place them into favorites, and display a visible icon on map. Was easy to mark one as found, check map for nearest next cache, then be en route with little down time. Been digging through options but maybe I'm looking in wrong place?
  10. Yea that's what I been doing, unfortunately. It's been slowing me down though, and it's not too fun on the carpal tunnel either. Finally decided to go Premo though.. Did create PQ, but was trying to go from that, to loading caches into GPS. Am using that linked guide, but eh not going along too smooth heh.
  11. I normally just add cache locations directly to GPS via website. Been digging around for a few hours, but haven't been able to decipher how to import cache locations along route into favorites on GPS. Halp? I been sitting here in Starbucks for too long now. D:
  12. Placing caches near children schools may be a bit sketchy. I placed a cache on my college campus property, with permission of faculty staff. Even gave him a run down, showed him where I placed it, and had him sign log. So that if he or staff sees somebody up to "suspicious behavior", they would be able to identify persons unknown. Although, I'm thinking if cache goes MIA, I'm going to relocate it to somewhere in camera view. Did not have any issue getting it published, but cache placement near college may be more quickly acceptable than children school? /shrug
