Congratulations to Vix as well, for reaching 11 finds, barely seems three weeks ago when you passed 1000! Well done Vix.

Caches for adoption - Staffordshire/Shropshire Area
badger replied to MarcB's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
I'd be happy to take Alchemy Quest if anybody closer doesn't offer... Still laugh at the video we made of our 14 hour session to complete the Quest! -
I've installed the new user script, but all the replaced maps show the same place 'Pilmuir'... I'm sure I've never placed a cache there before as it's near Edinburgh! :(
-
Congrats to Jerryo for passing 100 forum posts...

You know you're addicted to Geocaching when...
badger replied to Eclectic Penguin's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
You are watching TV and say there is a cache there... and then you can even name the cache! Yes I have done that once or twice! -
Congratulations to Vix92008 Well done on reaching 9 :D caches this weekend Not long now until we see you reach 1000 caches!
-
Thanks, email sent. I've included the macroerror.txt file as well. Matt

I tend to follow the arrow regardless, it has meant walking/swimming through ponds and/or lakes, bush whacking 500 feet or more even when there is a prefectly good path 30 feet to my side, and finally learning to abseil without ropes! Ouch!

This has got to be a milestone.
badger replied to gingerbreadmen's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
Well done Ian, big congrats from me for that significant milestone. -
Next question, I'd like to use a custom icon for A-Road Anarchy caches... something like this: I added a line in the Memory.txt file for each of the images (found, not found, bugs... etc, etc, etc...) and then copied the MM line in the icons text and edited it for A-Road. However it gave me an error stating something about command line 132 and 17 but lists as 16... Made no sense to me! Any ideas for a techno numpty? EDIT Forgot to add, I've made the icons for found, not found, owned and unavailable, all with bug or no bug option as well...
-
And when you try: - ...snip... You'll get MM icons for both, providing both are Traditional or Letterbox caches. J Yes, it worked for me, I was just running the export again when you replied. Thanks Matt
-
Two caches as an example are my M56 J6 caches, Part 1 and Part 2. Part 1 is listed as a small, and has the MM Icon Part 2 is listed as a micro, and has the Micro Icon Which is why I made the assumption that the order in the icon.txt file needed swapping...
-
I think I can see the problem... the micro text is above the Motorway Mayhem text in the icon.txt file, so the macro reads a traditional cache, with size as micro then it assigns the micro icon, then moves on to check for MM caches. Now, if I swapped them around, would that list the MM caches with the MM icon?
-
I've recently updated to this newer memory map export, and have all the icons working, except only a few Motorway Mayhems are showing using the Motorway icon... Is there any reason for this, and is there a way to make them show as motorway icons?

cheers matt I assume that the 1 Gb with 2 50K maps doesn't ALSO have TT6 on it? thats on a second card I guess... If it does fit, then even better! TT6 and two 50k maps, plus cachemate and 4-5 mid-sized GPX files... All on one 1Gb SD card. You may even manage a couple of 25K maps as well
-
We all play the game differently, I don't see the issue if you don't wish to swap anything... Surely part of the attraction of geocaching is being taken to/finding intersting areas that you did not know about before... Oh, and it's about the numbers []
-
I bought one recently, set up TT6, all worked fine, loads of space on a 1Gb card for at least two regional 50k maps and other assorted bits (cachemate, gpxsonar as a back up)... However, when I set the GPS to work on Memory Map, it stole the port from TomTom, since then TT6 would see the GPS when I reconfigured it, but the GPS would not see any satellites at all... A long call to the supplier resulted in me returning it... as they claimed it was a software issue! I hope to get it back in the next day or two as they promised a fast turnaround. Overall, except for this minor issue, the PDA offers loads of functions and is very quick to load up the programs.

Trying to report a new cache listing BUT.....
badger replied to weston wanderer's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
I'v eencountered similar when editing attributes on a newly submitted cache page... It lists a different cache listing to the one that I have submitted! I've put it down to busy servers and others submitting caches at the same time. A quick refresh sorts it out for me! -
Congratulations to Vix92008 for reaching her 8 th cache yesterday. That's some going! Well done Vix.

Muggle found our cache :-)

I was informed of a recent log on one of my caches! At least it shouldn't get muggled -
Important Announcement re London Caches
badger replied to Deceangi's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
The officer was very interested in a joint agreement, and sounded genuinely interested in caching after he had researched it, prior to contacting the GAGB. Thanks to Dave for taking the lead on this agreement, great work. -
The All New Groundspeak Uk Pub Quiz!
badger replied to The Golem's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
I believe that would be the heat of Chilis, as in the fiery fruit from the plant Capsicum. ***EDIT*** D'oh! beaten to the answer by MrsBlorenge. -
Huge congratulations Shaun, that's some achievement. And a great series to hit a milestone on! Badger
