  1. I had the same issue with mine. I let it sit out in an open area (my car windshield while on a short trip) and it took a long time but it did finally lock onto WAAS. I had to give it 3 hours of sky time at first but now it will lock on fairly quickly as long as it is a fairly clear area. I'm also on beta V2.86
  2. I let me unit get a lot of "sky time" today and then went on a hike. It held WAAS for some of it and it held it at all times on the road. I was getting 6-8 foot accuracy and my track logs were not as erratic as the ones I have seen here. It did take forever for it to lock onto WAAS but once it did, it had no problems afterward. Garmin told me the Oregons work much better after they have built their almanac up, I'm not entirely sure what that means or does, but I would assume it means letting the unit listen to the birds for a while. The track pic shows smooth lines on the way there but more erratic on the way back, this was probably due to it being in my coat pocket on the way back. 2nd pic is showing WAAS while driving, accuracy was excellent while driving, it plots perfectly on the map on mapsource program and it's smooth, not erractic at all. I'm running 2.86.
  3. Yeah, double checked that, I've reloaded it so many times, there is no way i messed up every time.

  6. My build is less than 2GB but has a lot of segments (3200). I have them loaded correctly with correct file names and types. I called garmin again today and they were stumped, opened some kind of ticket for me. We will see what they can figure out. i'm trying to get them to do a build with the same maps to see if they can replicate the issue. I think it's a compatibility issue with this one map because everything else works fine.
  7. Yeah, that works, but there isn't a reason it shouldn't work the other way. I was trying to avoid carrying multiple cards, just wanted to load all my maps and not think about it anymore.
  8. I think it's just these lakes/recreation maps. It's just odd that it will work until you put the card in.
  9. On my 400t, on the base unit under Garmin, I have 1) gmapprom.img 2) gmapsupp.img 3) gmaptz.img 4) gmapprom.sum under NO NAME which is the card I have gmapsupp.img. As you can see there is a map on both the unit and the card with the same name "gmapsupp.img" and I am able to switch to and from any of the three maps with no problem. I called garmin and they didn't say anything about renaming any files. They thought it was from using an 8GB card but it reads the card fine, it's the darn maps on the unit that don't work. I'm well under the 4000 segment limit (3700). I have tried other sd cards just to be sure, this is driving me nuts, i need my lake charts for fishing
  10. same thing, does not recognize the maps on the card when i do that.
  11. I did that and it doesn't read the maps off the sd card at all.
  12. I wasn't able to find anyone that posted anything about this but was woundering if anyone with an oregon (400t specifically) could test theirs. I have 3 mapsets I want to load. I have city navigator NT 09, recreational lakes with fishing hot spots and an old map called US roads and recreation (i use this because it has the dirt roads on it that it use a lot). When I load the rec lakes map data on the units internal memory I can read it fine. When i put my sd card in, which i have the city navigator and roads and rec loaded on, i can read those 2 maps fine but when i try to switch to the lakes map, the map is either white or is missing parts of the map like they are not loaded now. Usually gives me just a white screen. I disabled all maps except lakes. Now the odd thing is, if I take the sd card out and try to read it the same way I did before when it worked, it still gives me a white screen, like it's been corrupted. If i do a master reset, it will read the lakes map until i put the sd card in, then it whites out the map and is unreadable until i do the master reset again and boot it up without the sd card. When i try to load all 3 maps on one file on my sd card, i get similar results but it just will usually not read all of the lakes maps, and sometimes won't recognize that they are loaded. I'm using 2.86 firmware.
  13. It ended up being a corrupt profile, i deleted the profile, and made a new one. 3 of them were bad and the others were fine.
  14. In my oregon 400t, all my lakes are showing up as white instead of blue on my loaded maps but on my built in topos they are blue. They use to be blue and then turned to white.
  15. I don't think this is the issue. I have an 8GB (class 6) micro-SDHC card in my Oregon 400t. I have City Navigator NA 2009 NT loaded on there and my GPSr uses the maps with no issues. Perhaps it's a different issue. Exceeding the segment limit? Exceeding the file size limit? Accidentally sending the data to the wrong card/virtual drive? No, it's the card, card is perfectuly functional and i tested it with very small map loads. I went out today and bought another 8GB micro and it works fine. Kingston class 4 doesn't seem to work in the oregons.
  16. Yeah, works in my camera fine and i have been using it as a flash drive for a couple months.
  17. You would think it would work fine since it reads and writes to it. I wonder if it being a class 4 instead of a class 6 could make any difference? Just a bit slower.
  18. Ok, i may have just figured it out, is there a maximum size sd card these support? I have an 8GB and it seems to recognize it because when i plug the unit in, it brings up 2 removable devices and will write to the card. I put a 64MB card i had laying around and it worked, maps were viewable.
  19. I just got a 400T and am using an micro SD card in the unit. I want to load the maps on the SD card as I have multiple products. None of them need unlock codes as they are legacy products. I can load them into the units internal memory and they work fine but when i load them on the card and go to the map setup they are not there, I just can't figure out what i'm missing. I have tried loading them through my sd reader and through the gps removable drive. I'm at a loss. Pleas Help!
  20. here is a used one on some forums I read. It's a steal. http://www.cpfmarketplace.com/mp/showthread.php?t=173317
  21. I am interested in one of the Colorado receivers but have a couple questions for those that have them. The 400T has basically the equivalent of having a 300 with City navigator loaded on it completely correct? With that in mind, I sometimes use the old roads & rec data on my 60C because it has more the rural roads and creeks/rivers on it than the newer stuff, will I be able to load this on the 300 or 400T?
