I went looking for a key in a cache today and was 'caught and questioned' by a mall security guard. He told me that the cache was on private property and needed to be removed. I brought the cache home with me and have emailed the owner (who has moved out of state I think) to find out what to do with it. There were two TBs listed in the cache but they are not there. One was a YJTB. There is no record of them being taken in the physical log book. Is there anything I could or should do about the MIA bugs?

I am not having any luck downloading waypoints to my GPS. I have searched through the forums but havn't been able to solve my problem. I have an Etrex Legend. It came with a cable that I have hooked up to my computer. The cable is a female 9 pin cable. There is only one spot on the back of my 'puter that this will fit into. I have downloaded 'EasyGPS' from the internet to my computer. I went to the GC.com and did a search by my area code to pull up caches in my area. I click a check mark in the box to the right of the cache. Then I click on 'download waypoints'. I get a download box that says "File download: Do you want to open or save this file?" I click save. It gives me a box to name the file. I just leave it alone as "geocaching" and the type is a "Topographix Data File" I just leave these alone and click 'save'. It saves it into the same folder that the EasyGPS is in. Then the download box goes away. I open up the EasyGPS program and there is a list of the caches I downloaded to my computer. I hold down the shift key and click on two of them to highlight them. I click the 'send' button at the top fo the EasyGPS screen. Then, nothing happens. My computer screen doesn't say anything or do anything. My GPS doesn't do anything. I have tried this with the GPS turned on and turned off. When I go look at the waypoints on my GPS the new waypoints are not there. I feel like I'm missing a step or doing somethign wrong because I don't get any messages (error or confirmation) when I try to send the waypoints to my GPS. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the EasyGPS program with no change. Any help or threads you can point me to would be appriciated.

I really try to leave the cache better then I found it. Therre is no doubt that as an newbie, it took me a while to figure this trading thing out. Just recently I have put together a swag bag and will make sure that I leave something better then I took. There have been a few times when I've not done that, but I've also tried to leave extras when I find a crappy cache and and not take anything. Caches are full of McToys. Kids are going to leave McToys to trade. That's a fact. You can't change that. Don't fight it - work with it. If you take all of the cheap toys out of all of the caches, What'ss going to happen when a kid brings a McToy? He's going to leave the McToy and take the $1.00 compass you bought from the $1 store. Its up to the parents to make sure that kids trade McToys for McToys, but if all the McToys is gone, you're caches will deteriorate even faster than normal. I agree broken toys and dirty crap should be removed, but taking all the McToys out is not going to help the problem. Maybe have a "Kids Bag" and an " Adult Bag". Or maybe have an "I leave good stuff" and a "I leave cheap crap" bag. Just my 1/50 of a dollars worth.

Are TBs only availablle through the website? Are there any local retailers who sell them?
