  1. Were you able to work something out with GC.com to have them trackable on GC.com? As a personal, untrackable token, I think they're great. If you can get GC.com to track them for you like the coins, THEN you're onto something!
  2. ....Prepare to eat and prepare for Big Bear's 2nd coin. I got an amazing idea for the 2nd coin to be introduced at the Big Bear Cache Bash II, coming this summer. I will disclose my idea at the Pizza Party on Wednesday. See you all there soon!
  3. Yes and if I have seen a picture of a cache I have found it. I saw a picture of a million dollars once. Does that make me a millionare? LOL
  4. This is allowable? I think it's kind of cheating. Isn't the whole point to see how far your "coin" goes and that people who log it actually "see" it? I understand that coins and other TBs get lost, stolen or swiped by other cachers and not moved along. It's just yet another way for people to get their little icons. Whatever. I don't think geocaching has any "rules" other than a cache can't be buried in the ground. -Tandemaniacs
  5. JC- Thanks for mentioning: I will be there and I will be bringing my collection of geocoins to share. I will also be bringing my last 5 Big Bear geocoins for trade only! So, if you have a coin to trade, bring it along and well see what happens. No measurable snow should fall this weekend. -Ronney
  6. BC- Where ya been hiding out? I have some new coins to share with you. I'll be popping into see the Pirates and share them all with her tomorrow. -T
  7. SHUT UP AND RIDE cache has been recalibrated and the coordinates should be dead on accurate now. FOR GOSH SAKES PEOPLE IT'S NOT IN THE STREET! Also, I kept having a problem with the cache getting moisture in it. That's been fixed now too.

    Ebay

I just checked eBay to see if my Big Bear coin was there. One just sold for $32.78! There are 2 more there for sale. Wow! Someone thought that $32 was a bargain for a coin I sold for $8.50 to you! Who are these people who don't know there are trading lists? Most of us geocachers talk about spending between $300 and $1000 a month on geocoins at the $8 price and here are people who probably spend much more. Yikes. Nice to know there are trading lists and that the poeple who originally made the coin have extras to sell at normal price.
  9. Does your TB need SAFE PASSAGE? I have come across 2 TBs that were interested in travelling the 7 seas. In February I will be leaving CA (Pacific) going to Florida (Atlantic) and travelling to the Carribean. Also, I tend to send TBs in safe passage from my home in Ca to either my parents in MD or brother in FL who are also geocachers. It racks up your TBs miles safely by travelling with a responsible geocaching family. I can't tell you how many TBs of mine were lost or stolen. Please e-mail me if you have a PERSONAL TB that you want to go to either FL or the Carribean. Find me through geocaching.com under Tandemaniacs. -Ronney
  10. Yes, I do believe geocoins are TBs. We will be going to Nassau, Ocho Rios, St. Maarten and San Juan.

  12. Before I send a TB out into the world I photograph it and the TB tag front and back. When It gets lost I print out a wallet size of the original TB and the tag front and back. I then get the whole thing laminated and send it out again. One of my TB is going out for the 3rd time, The 1st was stolen, the second one got lost when a whole cache was plundered. 3rd times a charm?
  13. I am interested in a PA trackable coin and the NYC trackable coin. Anyone interested in trading for my Big Bear, CA geocoin? Please e-mail me at ronney@ifixpictures.com, not in this thread. Thanks -Tandemaniacs (Ronney)
  14. Weather in Big Bear is cold but delightful! There is no snow yet. Some of the caches in the back areas may take some hiking because they will be closing the roads soon that lead to the back areas, but there are plenty of caches that are not in the backwoods that are a lot of fun and a real "hoot". I guess I better update my Where the Wild Wings are cache. Ran outta log space. Coords for Shut Up and Ride are a little off, but still you should find it. Everyone else did. Picnic in the Park is safe and sound and all my other caches are ready to be found by you Thanksgiving cachers. How bout you, Badgercacher? -Tandemaniacs
  15. It's winter now. Come for the caching, stay for the skiing!!!!!!! Big Bear is LA, San Diego and Las Vegas's backyard. People come up here for all the outdoor activities. It's an outdoor mecca for boating, fishing, skiing, hiking, biking, camping, learning history of the gold rush, spotting bald eagles and of course CACHING!
  16. There is a lot involved with the pricing of coins. Please call 910-848-7467 and ask either Tess or Aaron from www.coinsandpins.com . They will help you better understand. -Ronney
  17. Dear fellow cahcers, The Big Bear Geocoins arrived today. I placed them all in mailers, and they will be sent out tomorrow. Thank you very much for your interest and enjoy the coins. Tandemaniacs
  18. Marc- Thanks for the heads up on packing. I'll make sure I use an entire roll of tape on yours! UPDATE: Tess just e-mail me. The coins will be sent out on NOV 7th. It's about time! -Ronney
  19. I have called coins and pins for the past 2 days and they have not yet gotten back to me. The last thing they told me was that they would send the coins out on Nov. 4th. I already have everyone's envelope addressed and waiting for the coins to go into them. Now all we need are the coins! Thanks for writing and asking Marc! The date was pushed back because Groundspeak didn't want me using "their" colors and coins and pins were arguing that they didn't have the market on those specific colors. We almost had to switch the colors aroung from yellow in the green section and green in the yellow, but that wouldn't be Gcaching, would it? I pushed to keep the colors and that set the date for coin release back a few days. -Ronney
  20. I place this cache and didn't give much of a hint. After many many people e-mailed me and local cachers whined and complained I changed the "hint". It still stumps people. You should come up here and give it a try! Read the Sign
  21. The worst cache I found, which was dismantled after several other cachers complained too, was hidden on the other side of an area clearly marked sensitve plants area, do not cross this area . Besides, we had 20 just like it in less than a mile area!
  22. Up here in Big Bear Lake, Ca, there is a cache hidden inside a garden squirrel. I've taken a few people to the cache to find it and they either jump back or laugh and say, is that it?

Psssst, hey buddy.... Over here. I know where you can get a real gold geocoin. It's only $100. Want one?
  24. Are you going to use the artwork you asked me to make for your coin?
  25. It looks like a military coin minted by coins and pins. Contact them. I'm sure they'll tell you more about it. Coins and Pins -Tandemaniacs
