  1. The way to do this is to 1) export the geocaches from BaseCamp into a GPX file, 2) "delete and remove unique content" in BaseCamp 3) search the exported file for the "SymbolAndName" value in the gpxx extensions tags, replace it with "SymbolOnly" 4) re-import the changed GPX file back into BaseCamp. It's irritating, but it's a lot quicker than manually editing thousands of waypoints. See my BaseCamp experiences at https://www.the-gardners.co.uk/techie/back-to-basecamp/
  2. I spent a while trying to figure it out in BaseCamp and was ultimately successful, but only as a result of doing quite a bit of work also in GSAK. What I did is described at https://www.the-gardners.co.uk/techie/back-to-basecamp/
  3. Getting to the 500 points for planetary pursuit - yes, it's difficult to get the numbers if you've got multiple thousands of finds because you have to travel, but I would suggest that someone with multiple thousands of finds must already be pretty used to travelling.
  4. Perhaps the solution could be, as a one off, for Groundspeak to work with outforthehunt to allow the creation of individual new virtual caches at each location where GC45CC is currently available, so that previous loggers don't lose their genuine finds (and, indeed, the virtuals would then appear correctly in their stats too), and then archive GC45CC. I know that would mean that no further YOSMs could be added, but at least it would mean that all those people who have genuinely invested vast chunks of their leisure time walking up and down hills and mountains in the UK will still see the benefit of doing so, and would also mean that all previous locations remain accessible and loggable. I'm only invested in it to the tune of about 17 finds, by the way.
  5. Hi, I am in the process of creating a series of 20 or so caches at a local site and I wondered if it is possible somehow to get the details for the unreleased cache descriptions out into a GPX file, so that I can test them on my GPS/iPhone and in GSAK ? Thanks, MKGees
  6. I would agree that the experience of all those caches would be greatly diminished if you were to simply drive between them. I would suggest walking/cycling/running the course - that way you get to breathe the air and soak up the sun, plus at 10 per mile you could probably walk between them faster than drive. Some days are for quality, some are for quantity...................... I don't like this business about replacing them yourself though - indicates they must be trivially easy hides in very obvious locations if that's the approach. That would dissuade me more than the "power trail" concept or the location. At least hide or disguise some of them properly.
  7. I just tried the same thing this afternoon for one of mine. It seems at the moment all you can do is to add a "Update Coordinates" log entry. Does anyone know whether this puts the cache under review again ? And if the reviewer can then update the "actual" coords to reposition it in the maps ? The one I moved has moved by about 400 yards to an area which should be completely safe. I don't have an issue if that is the convention now, but it isn't described in the website.
