  1. Hi Clyde, I have a few feature requests regarding the HTML export: It seems to me that the export automatically decrypts all encrypted comments. Could you please make that optional? And secondly, could you please include the links to mappoint and the other mapping services, as is on gc.com? Thanks for a superb product.
  2. I went paperless today as well. Dug out the old Palm IIIc from the drawer that I haven't used for a couple of years. I installed cachemate. uploaded a few waypoints to it and went caching. Nice to have the description and hints readily available. The biggest surprise was how big the Palm IIIc felt compared to my SonyEricsson P800 and the 60C. When caching I had a few waypoints on the GPSr that I didn't have in Cachemate, so I'll make sure next time to load all waypoints for my area, about 400 of them, into Cacemate.
  3. Just a simple reminder to not always trust your GPSr. news.com.au
  4. Hi! Is it possible for GSAK to export the Waypoint URL when exporting data to MapSource? The URL field in MapSource's Waypoint properties dialog is always empty in my case. Am I doing something wrong? I could'nt find any switch to turn this on.
  5. My advice is to find a few more caches yourself first. With more experience of the types of caches in your neighbourhood, you will be better informed as to where and how to place a cache.
  6. planemaker: my link above explains BigMac pricing thorougly.
  7. See if http://hardware.mcse.ms/message51923-2.html may help

  9. Ah, thanks Keystone Approver. That solved it.
  10. I have logged out and restarted the browser, but still no .sig. Well, it isn't that important, but it is strange. Is this somehow browser-dependent? I am using Opera 7.5 on WinXP.
  11. Logged in and out, but still no .sig?
  12. I dont see my own signature in my own posts. Is this normal? I have also tried to change the text under the avatar without success?!

I you click on the little blue square with the downward wite arrow on it ( just to the left of the subject title) it takes you to the oldest item you havent read yet. Saves you a lot of scrolling.
  14. I have enabled signatures, but will it show?
  15. This is my third attempt at getting a .sig.
  16. And the company making it has just (today) been aquired by Google Corp. (http://www.google.com/press/pressrel/keyhole.html) Wonder what they will use it for?
  17. When you have solicited a local person willing to adopt the cache, contact the approver and explain the situation. If the approver gets no response from the owner, adoption should be straightforward.
  18. Having worked with digital cartography/GIS for about 8 years, I always wanted a GPS. But I never saw any real use for it. I usually know where I am, on a daily basis. But a friend of mine had borrowed his dads GPSr and talked about geocaching with his family. I had heard about geocaching before, but sort of dismissed it as uncool at the time. My friend didn't need to use much persuasion however, and after a week I had bought a Garmin GPSr. Have located a few caches after that, but then reality struck in and I haven't had much time to do much caching. Hopefully I will get more time to spend on this soon.
  19. I have been a map lover as long as I can remember. I have the world atlas lying in the sofa for easy access. Whenever someone mentions a place I haven't heard of before, I just have to locate it. :-)
  20. Remember that most greenkeepers tend to move the holes regularly, so your waypoint might not be where the hole is. But I guess it would bee within the accuracy of the GPSr most of the time (5-15 feet). I am also not sure if using a GPS is within the rules of golf, I certainly would'nt use one in a tournament.
