  1. tygerkat I applaud your resourcefulness for obtaining permission, and I fully agree with the "stupid police" comment *even if it was slightly wrong in a small fit of rage* If MPD had been in contact with all resource's this incident would not have gone so far. On the other note, I do think a smaller container should have been used and something of an alternative color used. even if duct-tape was used to match the color of the GR, it was an obvious choice for an Altoids tin which would be disguised even better than a small lock & lock.
  2. As a matter of fact, I have to agree with the OP. "Stupid Police" is correct in this manner. They did not call in All Resources. So stated by this statement of the news article. Therefore is void of any "trumped up charges" Since MPD failed to get in touch with the Park District whom allowed the placement.
  3. topic can be closed or deleted. I now have a Bushnell ONIX 200CR.
  4. I was quite disappointed with my $40 refurbished Bushnell Onix200. Its still in a drawer, but after 2 months I upgraded to a Magellan. yeah I had the onix200 myself I liked it for what caching I did do when I had it. however I would love to get something to do more caching with.
  5. I'm looking for a cheap gps limited budget of about $30 would prefer a bushnell but any offer will be considered.
  6. there's been a few time's in which i've requested cache's to be archived within my area. land steward's asking for removal etc... there was also one instance in which a cache had several dnf log's along with maint. logs.
  7. I've got this one that I'm going to have has the final stage of a multi I'm in the process of creating. this particular box is a bonus after gathering an extra partial set of numbers with each stage.
  8. You weren't caching in The magician & his assistant's area were you? come to think of it I believe so. found one of their caches just down the road about 2-4 miles or so from it.
  9. Looking for a Bushnell Onix 200 Non color screen. the unit I have currently has a giant crack in the screen after falling from my pocket and I would like to get a replacement screen.
  10. Does it have the data cable for it? I'd be willing to pay $40

  12. I would love to log a find at the North Pole if one was ever placed there.
  13. I've had 2 run in's with the law. Once while Placing a cache near by where I live. A cruiser pulled up next to me asking me if I was alright, informed the officers I was placing a geocache and where I was placing it at. even showed them what the container was. The second run in I had was while going after a cache in a tree. I was about 2 feet below when I heard an officer yell up to me "Sir please come down from that tree" after climbing back down and out of the tree he asked what I was doing. pointed to the cache from the ground and said "See that box up there towards the canopy of the tree there attached to the end of that rope?" he then responded "Oh your one of the geocachers huh. Were you able to get the container?" I told him I would have gotten it if he hadn't had me come out of the tree. He agreed and wished me best of luck.

  15. Hi, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Doug but alot of my very close friends and family call me mutt. I have been questioned as to why the 7469 on my nick well a the time I was on the 7.4th mile of Rt 69 so there's that and a second part. I was accidently introduced to geocaching by finding a container while out on a fishing trip with my cousin's. I believe Beaverland was my first find as it was around 06 when we spotted this. unless there is another within this area that was archived since then. I will have to venture out to this area agian sometime soon to make sure. Would love a revisit. That was when I first heard of geocaching. I would love to find more people around the area that do cache & would love to make new friends in the caching community.
