  1. Hi all,

    Every time I try to load my new Wherigo on Wherigo.com, it says ;

    Error Occurred

    Wrong Local header signature: 0x3CBFBBEF

Does anyone know what this means, and how I can fix it.

True, but it's also not possible for everyone and I think that it's really hard to do. You have to learn on your own mistakes and gain more experience. Huge effort isn't going to help if you don't know the basics. My first cache was not a disaster, but it was a micro-magnetic which was not actually showing anything. I still think it was good to create it, because I learned how the owners webpanel looks like, what are the options and so on. With time I combined the knowledge I gained and after I guess 1.5 year I started making better caches, which people liked. Being hyped and having the thing stuck in your head, that "my cache should be awesome, good and great", we would have 75% less caches in the world :D

I don't recommend starting with god knows what, but with a standard cache which is not unpleasant for the finder. Not being hyped is also very important, to be objective.

I do agree with you on that, but hiding a decent sized container rather than is a bison isn't that hard

I am confused about something.  I was looking to see when a Cacher was last logged into Geocaching.com and I see a date of August 31, 2020.  But when I checked that cachers cache log, I see they were actually logging a cache in November, 2020. How can you log a cache in November when you haven't logged into Geocaching.com since August?

They only show the date that you last logged into the website. If you go on to the app then it won’t show up

A beautiful Christmas gift to all AL players

To hide pins on map and items in the list for completed ALs. Implementation pf this feature is very simple, just to add a switch into profile. Split into found/not found labs already exists as seen by different colors in the list and tick symbol on the map.

I’ve been waiting for this for a long time

Finding caches and logging caches are independent activities.  While these are clearly bogus, where are auto logging tools that can post found it logs at that rate even if it took weeks to find the caches.   In the "old days" people would find caches, then come home and log what they found that day, rather than immediately log a find with the app as they find the cache.

I am aware of that, and, apart from FTF’s, I have never logged a cache in the field. I was just making a point of how clearly bogus these logs are

  6. Hi,

Probably quite an obvious question, but it’s my first ever attempt at a Wherigo. I am using the urwigo builder.

    a) In multiple choice, I have put in the possible answers, but I can’t work out how to select the correct one.

    b) I can’t work out how to make the flow chart work to ask the question.

    Any help would be appreciated

A couple of years ago, one small team put out a series in every one of the Denver Public Library branches -- 36 in all as I recall.

Looks like most of them are up and running still.  There was a nice geocoin from the library system for the first xx finders of the entire series.

You might want to talk to the crew that did all of ours.  Note that as mentioned above, none are traditionals, but they do represent an interesting cross section of other types.

I’m also thinking of hiding some library caches when libraries reopen around here, I am definitely going to try and get some local caches around here to assist me with an idea like that

I'm in the process of creating a new cache into which I want to place numerous trackables I have picked up. However, I can't see anywhere to add them during the creation/edit stage. Can anyone help me with this?

Quite simply, I don’t think that you can add trackables in the creation stage. Wait until it has been published, then add them

  9. Hi,

I’m thinking of making a night cache, and the tacks that I found are all fairly expensive. I’m happy to pay for them if they are all that price, I’m just wondering where they are cheapest
