  1. Looks like you may have the help needed but just in case here is another product you could use and longer lasting than a collar track my dog link
  2. Try going out in the street and walk with it, you need to be moving to make the compass react, just turning on the spot wont make it react. Hope this helps.
  3. Looks like you have just answered your own question the TB codes allow people to look at your trackable but they are unable to log them without knowing number stamped on them, look at one of mine if you want TB4VWM6 you can view and even try to log it but without the tracking number you can only view. Hope this helps shantz uk & cleverclogs
  4. If you want to learn about HTML try looking at this site click here, I find it very useful and it is owned by a reviewer from the UK. Hope it helps.
  5. You can join GAGB its free and then add the event to the calender yourself or just wait a few more days and one of the GAGB team will add it.
  6. Click on your name and you will go to your own page then click on renew your membership in the top right just where it says hello ayrbrain, all your options are there to renew.
  7. Oh and after all these years when i have been told size dosnt matter you come out with a comment like that and burst the bubble
  8. We have an Oregon 300 and use it all over the UK and worldwide, have various maps and they all work really well. Here is the link to Talky Toaster.
  9. I have been using my various GPS with my bikes for years. From my ETREX to the Colorado and now to the 62S. The Colorado was lost, found and returned and finally lost again, no return all related to the junk that Garmin sells as a bike mount. It is a great resource to map, print and share the trails, elevation profiles with others and have a real statement of total miles, vertical ascent and descent, not to mention the geocaches that are on many of the mountain bike trails. The GPS must be along for the ride and stuffing it into a pocket in the back of the jersey is a not so good solution to the bike mounts that I have found. The Garmin mounts are the WORST. The connection with the cable ties is bad at best and responsible for losing the Colorado the first and second time. The second time, I should have known better. I tethered it on with hook and loop. Unfortunately the Garmin mount broke and the tether was not as strong as I had hoped. On to the new solutions. Garmin still sells their proprietary junk. RAM universal has ROCK SOLID alternatives, not too pricey, just more than a bike should need. The universal ball joint moves around and sticks up too far. I have a ZUMO on my Dual Sport Motorcycle with the RAM mount and it is bullet-proof. Finally, RAM offers the same style of cable tie connection to the cradle for bikes and others. Cable ties DO NOT WORK. I modified the Garmin connection from a carabiner clip with a metal hose clamp. Best solution yet, but, the weight of the 62S will someday break the clip mount. There is a cradle solution for just about any smart phone or GPS that is made by RAM. I recently ordered every connection that RAM sells in an effort to address the connectivity issues. So, my question to all of you that bike with your GPS, "What are you doing to mount your GPS, make and model?". I have had this mount for my oregon 300 for a few years its sturdy and has never let me down. Very cheap less than £10 just need to wait for the delivery from Hong Kong, mine only took about two weeks.
  10. Hi look at this link it's not my work but has helped me in the past. The site belongs to a reviewer in the UK. Hope it helps. Regards Shantz UK
  11. I have had a TB out there collecting coins for a little while and as yet Interpol hasnt come knocking on my door take a look here Coin Collector TB
  12. Looks like you may have clicked on the icons under the legend on the left of the maps, this de-selects the particular cache types and removes them from the map and greys them out in the legend. Just click the icon on the very left to bring them back. Hope this helps.
  13. We own a trackable and wish it to visit every cache we log as found to accumulate mileage. It would be a nice feature to allow this funtion to automatically happen each time we log a cache find from our PC. It could be done with a trackable held in the owners collection thus still allowing others to discover it but not allowing them to grab it. Im sure other cachers will have ideas on this subject and look forward to reading them and hopefully seeing something like this option coming to fruition. Regards
  14. We have just been given a geocoin and want to keep it with us. We want to log it into every cache that we find from now on. Our question is, is there a way to set that individual geocoin to be logged as visiting each cache automatically without having to select it from the inventory list and clicking visiting when looging the cache find. The geocoin will never be dropped into any cache. Thanks in advance for all your answers.
  15. You need to purchase a Travel Bug (TB) available here (other shops do exist) once recieved activate it, give it a name and goal. You can attach anything to this item as long as it is family friendly (you keep the copy tag), remember it has to fit in a variety of cache sizes so if its too big it limits where it can go, and as previously said they do go missing from time to time however they also go to some great locations and clock up some huge mileage. Good luck with your first TB venture.
  16. I was getting the same today, it does seemed to have stopped now. Fingers crossed it stays that way.
  17. Here's a great example of a CITO event: The 2011 Water of Leith CITO Event With the hard work, planning and organisation such as at the above event, a group of cachers not only cleared up an area of a lot of "trash" but they almost certainly made new friends as well. Good job things are different then because otherwise all caches would be in a five inch square clip top box hidden under a rock. Does it really matter what guise a CITO event takes as long as the end goal of collecting litter is achieved.
  18. I attended the CITO event that I think you refer to. It was ok and allowed me to do my bit by picking litter whilst getting a few caches. Anything that helps to reduce the litter on DNP is great there are too many people just chucking it down and leaving it. Not sure how you would want a CITO event to be, do we all stand in a line and walk across an area litter picking as we go? Regards
  19. Go to this web site for all your information and log sheet needs. Click here
  20. Sorry cant help on this matter but just wanted to add that I have also emailed a reviewer for advice and failed to get any response at all. It would be really nice if people would reply to emails even if its a negative response. There thats off my chest now and I feel better now.
  21. When i load maps to my SD card for use on my Oregon 300 it must be in a folder called garmin for the unit to read it so it may be the same on your unit, give it a try you dont have anything to loose. I also have to choose which maps are active from within the menu otherwise you dont see them.
  22. Great idea have joined already see you all over there for Devon geocaching related chat etc.
  23. Try the Tavy Treasure Trail if you havnt already done it. A 5 X 5 cache located in Tavistock a few miles from Plymouth, however dont expect to complete it in one day, it took us three visits. However well worth the effort though.
  24. Does anyone know where I can add a map for the Caribbean Islands that will show in my stats configured with GSAK using findstatgen3. I know there are additional maps you can select but the Caribbean doesn’t seem to be listed. I have visited a few islands and would like to show these as a standalone map like you can for American states or UK counties as using the world map some of the islands are too small to show. Thanks for any help you may offer.
  25. Was it attached to a TB? I will keep a look out in case its in a cache near me!!!!
