  2. Yeap I see some people here like the same stuff I like it. FLASHLIGHT it's a must have ! even in the day hours.... Backpack with first aid kit , and toilet paper.... just to be safe ! I know some people that used Poison Ivy !!!! wow also a light weight jacket even when it's hot ( it's all about your Area....and season ) MOSQUITO are bad and so other bugs....( Bugs spray on spring and Summer ) and the list keeps going and going....
  3. Naaaah....I don't think I will be that dumb.... But the GEOCACHER will need to have his on tool...I will NOT leave anything close or inside that is against the game rules... I did ask about the pocket knife , tool , just to make sure.... Like I said before , I CAN NOT see someone going for even a short walk in the woods without some BASIC equipament. NOT a good idea.... BTW I live in Massachusetts Mtbikernate. I don't know what did you say...did you say something ?
  4. Thanks guys.... Yeap for sure people will know and read all about it as soon I get ready to place my cache. I would like to know more details about your cache Mtbikernate ....sound fun.
  5. Ok I know that could be a strange question but let's start this way.... I know pocket knives are a NO on the rules , BUT IF I hide a cache in such way that need some kind of " TOOL " to be found / opem is that also against the rules ? Do you walk in the woodsand city without a pocket knife or multitool ? I can't see myself without a pocket knife in any day.... So IF a cache need to be opem with a screwdriver is that also a NO on the rules ??? PLEASE let me know. Thanks
  6. That looks nice....I was loking for something like that for 2 weeks...end up getting on ebay Etrex vista first model for 53.00 plus S/h..... I don't know if that model ( gps ) is better or if I got a good deal... sucks when we are learning.... I hope you sell that quick!

    TB questions

    Thanks That explain a lot ! M.TEX
  12. Ok this is my question : If I Use a small container like nano or micro I won't have space for a large log book. so , how geocacher's deal with that ? I have seen pictures of tiny caches and I wonder how the log book looks like . how many pages and what information people put on it.... Second and NOTHING to do with this topic but why not ask here. Years ago I did signed up but never got involved with geocache. I do not know the name I used , and the Email acc is no longer working. Is there a way to find out the records for that OLD ACC ? Thanks , M.TEX

    TB questions

Ok you can see my record here and at the geocache site. I didn't find or place any cache. My questions about TB at this moment are : _ how is the miles calculated from start point to current point ? who does that ? and where is showed ? _ can my TB be returned to me before the end of destination or at the final destination ? who will keep the Tb at the end ? I guess that is what I have to ask now....maybe other question later... Thanks, M.TEX
  14. I like that tag....where I can get one ?
  15. Yeap , this is the auction Number 270491660741
  16. Ok mybe sound stupid but I think I got the Vista H I got at Ebay minutes ago and the owner didn't say much....It was used couple times and come with cables , pouch etc. I think is Black and white display ( must be the H ) NO other name on the Picture... so for 60.00 with shipping is a good buy ? 19. hi guys Yeap I can you guys are having lots of fun .....and Ohhh well sometimes NOT much fun with the BAD finds.... I just asked minutes ago in another thread about pocket knives....YES I collect Swiss army knives and I was thinking " MAYBE " it will be ok to use it with my TB....But someone told me NO . Too bad , I don't think a pocket knife is a bad thing and I know there are kids out there.... MY kids never got hurt with any of my knives....but there are other parents that think diferent. my 2 cents. Found O Placed Cache O so I can't say much yet.
  20. Thanks I was thinking about that but I had to ask , just to make sure... Thank you Sir !
  21. HI well as you guys can see , Im new at this one. I just signed in the other day , I do not have a GPS yet , I never went out to search for a cache or place my first one. BUT my question here is about Geocaching and Pocket knives... It will be ok to place a Swiss Army knife in my Geocache ? maybe with a TB ? I know kids are out there and I do know the rules about Geocaching and pocket knives.... Could someone tell me IF it's cool or not ? Thanks, M.TEX
  22. I would say that whay not keep the dream alive ??? If I was living in Brasil I could help but at this moment I can not do anything but wishing you good luck !
  23. Hello Guys ! OK this is my first post and I will soon start Geocaching here in USA. Yes I know about geocaching for few years but never got my feet wet. So I will buy a GPS this week ( I hope ) and I will be out on the Hunt. Im BRAZUCA do Rio de Janeiro ( most of my life I lived in BOTAFOGO ) I notice that you guys are trying to get a group or spread the geocaching bug around but I know is a bit dificult because GPS cost a lot of $$$ there and many people can buy one. I would say for the guys in RJ , go to some Rock climbing Club and spread the news.... Most the hikers and rock climbers in RJ would go for it. There are many clubs in RJ and across the Brasil....so I hope this idea help someone. I will soon be back to live in Brasil ( 2 years ) and I will be out there to plant my seed and have a great time with you guys. Don't give up !
