  1. Yeah they are pre-planned routes. They're also used for abnormal loads, etc.
  2. Nicely back on track and sorry to come late to the discussion. I was told a while a go that if a dog is jumping up at you and snapping, the best thing to do (need to be wearing gloves) is ram you hand into it's mouth! Basically so they can't close their mouth as your hand is in the way. I know it's kinda similar but I've done it with our cats and they don't like it, it really pulls them up short! As a more realistic alternative (I don't think I would do the hand/mouth thing) is take a step towards the dog and let my size 10 walking boot connect with it's mid-riff, as a great man once said... " A swift knee in the happy sacks and he'll drop like anyone"
  3. Well after reading about geocaching in the camping & caravanning magazine I asked for an etrex h gpsr from Santa! We were down at the outlaws for chrimbo and I couldn't wait to get out and try it. The first cache we hunted for was no good, couldn't find it so thought we'd do another couple nearby. 2 successes and a good trip with the kids, today we also did another and after a false start on the first clue managed to locate the cache!!! So now I think I've got the bug and can't wait to go out next!!! Plus also thinking of where to hide some caches of my own! The kids think it's fab and pretend it's like a spygame and can't wait to go again!!! Many thanks to all, Dave
  4. I got the magazine the other week, that's why I'm here!!! I've heard a little about Geo-caching before (a colleague in a different office does it!) but that was it. Talked about it with the wife and we thought it might be worth having a look at for when we go out for walks with the kids. I'm currently looking at GPS units on ebay to assist with the hunting. Thanks, dave
