  1. Bug or Camera Setting? I received this message from a Waymarker. The waymarker tried to upload the photo to one of my waymarks two days ago. No success. Yesterdays message was: ok I am frustrated !!! I have just tried three more times in a row to upload a pic to no avail. I do not know what I am doing wrong. Do you have any suggestions of quirks, etc that I may not know about? (End of message) I personally have a Canon Power Shot A510 that does not have a lot of flexibility on settings. So I upload my photos changing the settings to 600 X 450 pixels JPG. I would like some feedback on this situation. Is this a bug? How do others get the waymark that they have found to accept photo(s)?
  2. I received this message from a Waymarker. The waymarker tried to upload the photo to one of my waymarks the day before yesterday. No success. Todays message was: ok I am frustrated !!! I have just tried three more times in a row to upload a pic to no avail. I do not know what I am doing wrong. Do you have any suggestions of quirks, etc that I may not know about?
  3. I spent a week in Gig Harbor, Washington. I was amazed at the number of anchors that were on dry land. There is an enormous anchor displayed near the Fort Vancouver Visitor Center from the time of the Hudsons Bay Company. I think that it is a great idea!
  4. I have contributed two waymarks. I plan to contribute many more tourism waymarks in downtown Portland, Vancouver USA and perhaps Seattle, Washington however I am waiting for others to contribute to the Category.
  5. When traveling especially in large cities i.e. Paris, France, free public restrooms are difficult to locate. Most of the time you either have to pay a few coins or purchase some food--McDonalds, for example. Places that have free public restrooms are some hotels, public libraries, parks, cemeteries, department stores, etc. I do not wish to create a category so I throw the idea out for someone else to create a category.
  6. “Do not ask for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee.” Become a premium member and create the category. It's a great idea!
  7. I have a Sony Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 2 using Browser Foxfire Mozilla 1.5 (AOL does not work with the new system). I have encountered two problems. I cannot change my Password. I get a 404 error message time after time. Also other family members occasionally use my computer. I do not want my name and passwords saved. I uncheck the box over and over again yet the next time that I sign on my name and password appears. And it does so for each family members account. How can I change my password without an error message? And, more importantly, how can stop my name and password being saved? Frustrated in Vancouver (the other Vancouver).
  8. I deleted the log because it was not for that building however I cannot remove the photo. The photo even became the default photo. It is no longer the default photo but I still cannot get rid of it.
  9. A person could get their information from many sources including the Internet however they still have to submit original (not copyrighted) photographs, the coordinates, often location info, etc., etc. I often use the wikipedia website as the second website listing for National Register of Historic Places.
  10. I wonder if that's related at all to my "create a category" issue - I had the same problem trying to create a new category. Not created, and I got the home page. I can approve waymarks today, though. I tried again. I still get the home page after I push the approve button. I am not trying to go through AOL which does not work with the new 2.0. I have a Sony Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 Service Pac 2 laptop computer. The Browser is Foxfire 1.5. Wherein lies the problem?
  11. I have tried and tried this evening to approve (with notes) a waymark for "Where's In A Name?" The waymark was not approved and instead I get the home page.
  12. Someone evidently confused Vancouver, BC with Vancouver, WA and logged a visit for my Octagonal Building with several photos of another building. The photos did not entirely disappear when I deleted the log. Imagine my surprise when the photo became the default image! I have not found any way to get rid of the errant photo as it shows up as the default photo or in the row of photos but not the gallery photos. I ended up checking some of my waymarks but I am not convinced that a default photo will stay a default photo.
  13. I have tried three times to approve a waymark in "Where's In A Name?" category, including a note with the approval. It was not sent all three times. So I tried contacting the other members in my group. I was not able to contact them either. If my group members read this, please contact me at my e-mail address.
  14. I am beginning to sound like a broken record but I am still trying to thank the waymarker who found my waymark a few days ago. I am rerouted to "My Page." I want to reach the waymarkers page not "My Page."
  15. I have been trying to thank the waymarker who found my waymark a couple days ago. Every time I am rerouted to "My Page." I want to reach the waymarkers page not my page.
  16. I was disappointed in the site until I discovered the problem. I have a Sony Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 2. I am using AOL 9.0 which will not correctly format the new site. For example, a large map covers the entire center of the page. So installed Mozilla Foxfire 1.5 and the site looks great. I plan to upgrade to Service Pac 3.
  17. I received a notice that a waymarker found my waymark. I get a error page not found message when I visit the log entry and I get a large map of downtown Portland when I visit the waymark using the addresses on the notification. I locate the waymark. I wish to thank the waymarker however I am rerouted to my profile page instead of accessing the waymarker's profile page.
  18. I thought that it was my computer that was so slow so I used my daugher's computer. It was Waymarking. It was unbelievably slow or it simply would not work at all.
  19. Could you expand the category to include "Stand-by-me Statues?" They are the same type as the seated statues but standing. They are meant for taking photos with person or persons or pets or whatever. Great example would be the man with the sachel in front of Union Station in Tacoma, Washington.
  20. Here are my top ten favorite waymarks that I have created. Mt. Shasta Vista Point, California Pioneer Courthouse Square Directional Marker, Portland, Oregon The Gordon House, Silverton, Oregon Goodwill Industries of the Columbia Willamette, Vancouver, Washington Oregon Humane Society Animal Cemetery - Portland, OR The Witness Tree Surveyors Monument, Vancouver, Washington Point Wilson Lighthouse, Port Townsend, Washington Rose Red (W 077 13.733) of Vancouver, Washington at Lake Accotink Park, Virginia Ira Keller's Civic Theatre Forecourt Fountain, Portland, Oregon Pittock Mansion, West Hills of Portland, Oregon
